This video really needs no setup. However, in the interest of helping to spread the word about filmmaker Ben Shelton and his work with actor Tim Daly and his son Sam, here’s a bit of it anyway.
This video is the seventh episode of the occasional series The Daly Show, which features Daly and his son living their lives and having misadventures around Los Angeles. It should not be confused with The Daily Show with John Stewart, although both are funny but one has Time Daly and the other has John . . . well, you get the idea.
In this particular episode, we’re treated to guest appearances by Nathan Fillion and Michael Rosenbabum who, in their own way, try to help the somewhat “troubled” Tim Daly work out some issues. Let’s just say their methods leave a bit to be desired.
Take a look at this video after the break.

Bradley Cooper is a hot commodity right now. Whether he’s exploring his potential in Limitless, being eyed to play The Flash in David Goyer’s upcoming film for Warner Bros., or taking on yet another blackout in The Hangover Part II, everyone seems to want a piece of him.
Now the action/comedy star is being eyed for the lead role in Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s upcoming remake of The Crow. A bit darker than his normal role, but we can still see it happening. THR has the lowdown.
In the adaptation of the gritty black-and-white indie comic by artist James O’Barr, Cooper will play a rock musician who is murdered while trying to save his fiancée from thugs. He is resurrected by supernatural forces and seeks revenge. The role was originally played by Brandon Lee, who was killed by a freak accident during production in 1993.
Relativity is flying fast with Crow, with Fresnadillo only officially boarding the project a week ago. The Spanish director of 28 Weeks Later is said to have met with Cooper in Spain recently, where the two hit it off and shared a vision for the character and the film. Relativity would not confirm the talks but sources say Cooper, currently in theaters in Relativity’s hit thriller Limitless, is keen to board the project.
The film is set to start in the Fall, and could have a completely different take on the classic tale that gave teens an excuse to wear black leather and nail polish back in the 90s. Let’s hope Fresnadillo can still get Ernie Hudson to reprise his role.

Massive changes are in store for DC Entertainment, as the company recently announced that it plans to relocate the multimedia side of the company from it’s current location in New York City to Burbank, California. The print side of the company is planning on remaining in New York.
This move has been rumored for months so the move comes as little surprise. Since forming a partnership with Warner Brothers a little over a year ago, the move to cement the relationship was a long time in the making,
According to the press release found on DC’s website,“This strategic business realignment allows us to fully integrate and expand the DC brand in feature films as well as across multiple distribution platforms of Warner Bros. and Time Warner…We are creating a seamless, cohesive unit that will bring even more great characters and content to consumers everywhere.”

There aren’t a lot of movie or TV franchises that help shape the world of science fiction for all future properties. Star Wars and Star Trek obviously had a lot of influence, as did others like Blade Runner or even, to a lesser extent, the more recent Avatar. One show that should not be overlooked on this list is the 1980′s series Max Headroom.
The show took the concept of cyber terrorism and technological advances to a whole new level at the time, opening the doors to loads of references to the subject of subliminal messages in a media driven world. Taking place “20 minutes in the future,” the show follows hard news journalist Edison Carter, who gets taken out during a sting to uncover a new subliminal commercial that kills it’s viewers.
The company that obtains Carter attempts to expose downloads his memories into a computer-generated program (years before this was common to us geeks) which calls itself Max Headroom. From there, the show’s focus falls mainly on Headroom and his comedic “Greek chorus” narration of the episode.
The cast alone was enough to get any non-fan interested. Featuring a pretty geek-friendly cast lead by Matt Frewer, who true nerds remember from Watchmen and the Fox TV movie Generation X. Along for the ride is the late SNL member Charles Rocket, love interest from the epic Flash TV series, Amanda Pays, and the always lovable Jeffrey Tambor as “Murray.”
The show became more than law to many sci-fi and fiction fans at the time, years before things like Quantum Leap and VR-5 dominated the minds of fans everywhere. For years, people would have to get their Max Headroom fix from brief clips on YouTube and rundown copies in basement comic conventions. Not any more, as Shout! Factory released the complete series on DVD for the first time yesterday.

In place of my usual witty wordage, I’ve done an interview on Marvel, DC, Image, and Boom! (among others) comic book artist Dan Panosian in beautiful, living color. His artwork encompasses Captain America, The Flash, Spider-Man, X-Men, Prophet, Wolverine, Green Lantern, Irredeemable, and a couple issues of the fondly remembered Marvel Swimsuit Special, so you can be sure there was a lot to talk about.
His current book, X-Factor Forever is on shelves now. If the interview just wasn’t enough for you, check out his website at DanPanosian.com and his bountiful blog, the Urban Barbarian. If you’re in the LA area, you can see him and a smattering of other artists boozin’ and sketchin’ during a clandestine meeting of the infamous Drink N’ Draw Social Club held every Thursday night at Casey’s in Downtown LA.
But for now, press play on the video after the jump and be profoundly amused by his words of wisdom.

In this case you can’t accuse Hollywood of not planning ahead. With Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern film still over a year from release, Warner Bros. is already getting ready for a sequel.
The studio has reportedly hired writers Greg Berlanti (Everwood), Michael Green (Kings) and Marc Guggenheim (Eli Stone) to put together a treatment for the next installment of Green Lantern. These are the same writers who penned the first film so obviously the studio must be pretty happy with their work to bring them back again.
Reinforcing that is the news that the trio, in addition to working on a new Green Lantern, will also be working on a treatment for another comic book adaptation: The Flash. According to the report, the writers would work on both treatments and would eventually be selected to write the screenplay for one of the two projects, although which one is still to be determined.
It’s encouraging that Warner Bros. seems to feel so confidant in Green Lantern. It’s a rare move by a major studio to work on a sequel to a film this far in advance, especially one that hasn’t even been finished or released yet. Let’s hope this means Green Lantern will be the awesome film we all hope it will be.
Green Lantern is currently filming in new Orleans with an expected release next year.

These days, it’s sometimes tough picking out good comic books to read. But here at The Flickcast, we care about what you read, and only want you reading good things. So, with that in mind, I give you our new feature: Dave’s weekly comic book recommendations.
My first recommendation is Atomic Robo And The Shadow Beyond Time #1. This Eisner nominated series written by Brian Clevinger and drawn by Scott Wegener is a Hellboy-like series about a robot created by Nicola Tesla and is published by Red 5 Comics. (If this post was published earlier this week you could probably expect a lame Star Wars pun here). The first volume of this series featured a secret mission Robo went on for the US Government in 1938, and how it influenced a mission 60 years later.
The second volume, involved Robo and his crew fighting off Sci-Fi weaponry being used by an elite group of Nazis on the Italian coast during World War 2. This new issue, the start of the third volume, begins in 1928 with Robo being interrupted from studying for a physics exam by none other than H.P. Lovecraft while they investigate the Tunguska Incident. You can read all about it at Atomic-Robo.com.
My second recommendation is The Flash: Rebirth #2. DC is banking a lot on the talents Geoff Johns and Ethan van Sciver who brought back the silver age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. With Barry Allen, they are trying to bring this character to the modern age. I like the CSI element that is going on here, but I’m mostly interested in how they bring back a character that has been dead for almost 25 years and not make it seem like fan-service.
