Hey gang, it’s a new episode of The Flickcast! Sorry for not having one last week and for this one being late. Blame Chris and his move to Austin. That just messed everything up.
We promise to get our collective shit together very soon. In the meantime, here’s what’s happening on this week’s episode. Chris and Joe dissect Jurassic World, have some fun with Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and a whole lot more.
Picks this week include some stuff you probably won’t watch or read anyway. Who has time, right? We feel you.

Hopefully starting a trend for 2015 of uninterrupted weekly episodes we have, in fact, a brand new episode of The Flickcast for your listening pleasure. Not that we’re counting, but so far that’s two in a row for the new year. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Turning to more important matters, on this week’s show Chris and Joe cover many new and recurring topics, as is usually the case. Some of these include the recent Oscar nominations and “controversy”, the rumored new X-Files TV series, the latest Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, the “mess” that is the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, more on the new Twin Peaks TV series, 24 potentially without Jack Bauer, Zachary Levi starring in the Heroes reboot and a whole lot more. Yep, more.
Picks this week include Chris’ pick of the new Amazon pilot Mad Dogs, created by Shawn Ryan of The Shield and The Unit, and Joe’s pick of the new Syfy TV series 12 Monkeys, based on the film by Terry Gilliam.
As always, if you have comments, questions, critiques, offers of sponsorship, or whatever, feel free to hit us up in the comments, on Twitter, at Facebook, Google+ or via email.

That’s right, it’s another new episode of The Flickcast this week. Sadly, no episode was possible last week due to circumstances beyond our control. Actually, it was because of the holiday here in the states. So there.
But, as we’ve said before, that’s the past. In the present, we’ve got a new episode for you and it’s a big one chock full fun, exciting and useful information, discussions, observations and even more! That’s right, even more!
Topics this week include drones and robots, Wonder Woman casting news, Superman vs. Batman, The Walking Dead, Doctor Who 50th Anniversary, the regeneration “controversy” and a whole lot more! Did we mention all the more! Well, there’s a lot of it. More, in fact.
This week’s picks include Chris’ pick of Frank Darabont’s Mob City and Joe’s pick of the movie The Wolverine, which is now on Blu-ray.

This week on The Flickcast, we’re just going to pretend nothing happend and move on. Although, that’s not really fair. Okay, let’s try this instead.
Welcome to an all-new episode of The Flickcast featuring new co-host Joe Dilworth! How’s that? Yeah, we like that better because we’re happy to have him on the show.
To kick things off on this week’s episode, Chris and Joe discuss all manner of new topics including Pacific Rim, Oldboy, Man of Steel, the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con and much more.
In addition, the boys made some picks this week including Joe’s pick of the new album by Kirby Krackle and Chris’ pick of a geeky piece of hardware known as the Nest. Yes, he picked one of those. He’s a geek, we get it.

It would seem like Oscar prediction articles should appear on a website like this one, especially if the predictor in question happens to be in charge around here. But for some reason, our Editor-in-Chief Chris Ullrich has decided to plant his predictions flag over at his personal website instead.
However, even if if we don’t understand his motives, we’re sure he has some. Well, pretty sure anyway. Some of his predictions are easy to understand and others are more of the “wish fulfillment” variety. But even if we don’t completely agree with his predictions, or his reasons for making them, the insignt offered into the whole awards “thing” is still quite interesting.
At this point this post probably seems a bit on the self-serving side, and in truth, it kinda is. However, that doesn’t mean the article doesn’t have actual merit. It does.
Check out some of his predictions, and the reasons behind them, after the break. For the rest, check out the full article.

Even though some may criticize us for a bit of self promotion, I don’t care. When one of our team does something cool outside of their work at The Flickcast, I want to make sure to bring it to as many people’s attention as possible.
Case in point today is The Flickcast co-founder Chris Ullrich’s new venture into indie comics and comics publishing. The first comic out of the gate for this new venture is called Believer. Here’s the synopsis:
Believer tells the story of Jack Hollenbeck, disgraced Los Angeles police detective turned tabloid reporter and occasional private investigator who is hired by a mysterious woman and her aging father to locate an an ancient object of incredible value . . . and incredible power.
During the course of Jack’s investigation and search for the object, he soon realizes things are not what they seem as sinister forces, human and otherwise, converge on Los Angeles to prevent him, by any means necessary, from finding the object.
Aided by a woman he doesn’t really trust and relying on his wits, a few friends in the police who don’t hate him, and his knowledge of ancient magics he’s extremely reluctant to use, Jack must brave all manner of hardship to find the object before someone else does and uses its power to enslave mankind.
Believer was written by Chris Ullrich and Joseph Dilworth with pencils by Kris Carter. Economics being what they are in the startup world, the creators are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to help raise finishing funds for the comic series. Why not give them a buck or two?
You can check out some preview pages for Believer after the break.

Who doesn’t love horror? Our very own founders Chris Ullrich and Matt Raub sure do. They were the hosts of a brand new web series with the This Week In web TV network. Titled This Week in Horror, the new weekly series delves into the gruesome world of past and present projects in the horror genre.
Last night, they kicked off with a world premiere, starting things right with a Christmas Special. Sure, not many use horror and Christmas in the same sentence, until now. Films like Christmas Evil, Santa’s Slay, and Silent Night, Deadly Night are among the films that get showcased during their freshman episode.
They even get special guests like the writer/director of 2005’s Santa’s Slay David Steiman, and the creator of the 1980 classic You Better Watch Out, aka Christmas Evil, Lewis Jackson.
Check out the full episode after the jump, and be sure to check back in at their showpage to see when new episodes of This Week in Horror pop up.
