Recently, we were able to bring you a shorter, and somewhat vague, trailer for the next cinematic collaboration between Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright called The Worlds’End. Now, there’s a much longer trailer that finally, we think, captures the essence of this movie.
What is that essence? Well, it’s a movie where a group of pals go on an “Epic” pup crawl only to discover the world is in danger and they’re the only ones who can save it. Oh, and they drink a lot of beer in the process.
And really, who doesn’t like beer?
The film also stars Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Rosamund Pike. It hits theaters on August 29th.
Summer is a great time for movies, especially if you’re a geek. With Iron Man 3 and Star Trek: Into Darkness already in theaters, we can next look forward to Man of Steel.
Another new trailer for the Superman reboot has arrived. In this one General Zod issues an ominous message to the people of the Earth: “Your world has sheltered one of my citizens. … To those of you who know his location, the fate of your planet rests in your hands.”
Uh, oh. Does Superman end up kneeling before Zod? What do you think?
Check out the trailer after the break. Man of Steel arrives in theaters on June 14.
For whatever reason, we never seem to get tired of vampire movies. Although, we could do with a few less of the Twilight variety.
Fortunately, the upcoming vampire pic Byzantium looks interesting and also doesn’t seem to feature too many tween vampires or other angsty bits. Instead, it has a mother/daughter vampire team, in the form of Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton, and is directed by Neil Jordan who knows a thing or two about vampire movies.
Although, that doesn’t necessarily mean much considering the last one featured Tom Crusie as Lestat. Still, based on the trailer, we willing to give him another chance.
Look for Byzantium in theaters from IFC Films on June 28th. Check out the trailer after the break.
During an event today at its Redmond, WA campus, Microsoft announced the brand new Xbox console everyone had been waiting for. Dubbed “XBox One” the new console features a host of internal and external improvement, enhancements and new features/content including 8GB of RAM, a 500 GB internal HD, USB 3.0, 802.11n Wi-Fi, a Blu-ray drive and three operating systems: The standard Xbox OS, the kernel of Windows 8 for web applications and a third platform that connects the two together.
Microsoft has also completely redesigned its Kinect sensor to better respond to users’ voices and gestures and has overhauled its Xbox Live experience, which is now supported by 300,000 servers, or 20 times the number of servers that currently power Xbox Live. That’s a lot of servers.
Microsoft also said during the event that it will launch 15 exclusive games on the Xbox One, 8 of which are new titles. The major one reveled was, of course, a brand new Call of Duty game called: Call of Duty: Ghosts.
We don’t want to say too much about X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Okay, it wasn’t great), but at least it did well enough for the character to get another chance at headlining a movie. And heck, who doesn’t want that?
We’ve already had a couple teasers/trailers so far and now there’s another new trailer that’s arrived for The Wolverine. This one will be attached Fast & Furious 6 in theaters this week so for some of you, this may be the only way to see it.
We kid, we kid. Anyway, this trailer continues the tradition of awesome and still makes us excited for the movie. It’s also nice to see a certain, hot, redheaded telepath in this one. Although, we don’t really need Wolverine to be quite so touchy-feely, but I guess you can’t have everything.
Check out the trailer after the break. Look for The Wolverine in theaters on July 26.
Among the many changes in Google+ are new photo features including auto backups, auto highlight of the best photos, auto enhance, and “Auto Awesome.” In addition, there is now a dedicated tab for “Locations.” This new feature enables users to see where friends are on a map so that you can set up places to meet. If you don’t want to take advantage of this feature, or are just wary of sharing your location, this can be turned off in location sharing.
There’s also a new card UI and exploring features taken from the Chrome version of Google+. Tags are shown at the top right of posts, so that you can easily browse by topic. Notifications have been updated as well and are “nicer to look at and use,” plus profile fields can be edited on the go.
The update is expected to hit today. Look for it in the Play Store.
Now that Disney and Lucasfilm are one and the same, they’ve wasted no time in setting up new projects. One such project is a new animated series for Disney Channel/Disney XD called Star wars: Rebels.
This one takes place in the decades between Star Wars IV: A New Hope and Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. StarWars.com just released a first look video, showing how the series will be based on the work of conceptual designer, illustrator and legend Ralph McQuarrie.
Check it out after the break. Look for Star Wars: Rebels to premiere in the Fall, first with a TV movie, then as a series.

If you loved Batman: Arkham Asylum and the sequel, Arkham City (and we’re pretty sure you did), get ready for some more awesome Batman action. That’s right, there’s another installment of the game franchise on the way.
Recently, Warner Bros. Interactive announced the game and it’s called Batman: Arkham Origins. And now, there’s a new teaser trailer highlighting just how great it’s gonna be.
Check out all the action after the break. Look for Batman: Arkham Origins to arrive in stores on October 23.
One of the new applications announced is called Hangouts, which seeks to unify the company’s existing chat and video services. The application was released for Gmail, Android, iOS and Chrome, and it supports Google Talk, Google+ Hangouts and Google Messenger.
But wait, it’s gonna do more even more. According to Dori Storbeck, community manager of Google+ Hangouts and Chat, SMS integration is also “coming soon,” noting that is it one of the company’s “most requested features.”
This will be the final addition that will make this app a worth competitor to Apple’s iMessage or other services like WhatsApp or the upcoming Messenger from Blackberry.
Let’s try something new for today. Here’s the new trailer for Pacific Rim for you to see and enjoy, presented without much in the way of comment or commentary.
Believe us, you’ll see and enjoy it all right. And more.
Even with all the cool announcements comng from Google today and through the rest of the week, we can’t forget it’s also TV upfront time so that means lots of TV announcements too. We’ve already brought you CBS’ new Fall schedule and descriptions of its new shows for 2013.
Now we’ve got previews of most of the new shows for your viewing pleasure. Among the list of new shows is Robin Williams in The Crazy Ones. That title kinda fits, but it is fun to see Williams back on TV in a new series. That might be one to check out.
As for the rest, your guess is probably almost as good as ours. CBS does seem to do pretty well with procedural-type shows so maybe that gives some hope that Intelligence will be good. They also do okay with comedies and that means, as we said before, Robin Williams and Sarah Micheele Gellar might have some luck with their show too.
Check out all the previews after the break. Any interest in any of these new shows?
As far as online payment services go, if you want to send money to someone, you’re pretty much stuck using Paypal.
Not because it’s a great service (ask anyone who’s ever needed support or had to dispute an arbitrary Paypal decision) but because there’s pretty much no other choice. Well, that’s not good enough. We like competition and we think competition is good.
Enter Google. Today at their I/O conference Google announced a new featuring coming to its existing Google Wallet and Gmail services. That feature? Payments.
Put simply, once this feature goes live, you will be able to send and receive money via your Gmail account.
The more we see and hear about FX’s new series The Bridge, the more we’re interested and looking forward to watching. Mostly because it just looks creepy and cool, and we like that.
Previously, we brought you some previews for the new series. And now, we’ve got another one for you.
In this new one “Someone’s trying to send a message.” Who is it? You’ll just have to watch to find out.
The series premieres July 10th at 10PM E/P on FX. The new video is after the break.
Yes, they made another Riddick movie. And yes, it looks pretty good. Yes, we’re kinda surprised too. And yes, we like Vin Diesel. Sue us.
Anyway, there’s a new trailer and poster for Riddick, the fourth film in the Chronicles of Riddick trilogy. We don’t have a lot to say about the trailer except that it showcases pretty well why this character is still popular enough to warrant a new movie.
In this one “the infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.”
Check out the new trailer and poster after the break. Look for Riddick in theaters on September 6.
