Dave’s Weekly Comic Book Recommendations

Things have certainly heated up this week with comics, as there is a whole crop of wonderful books coming out today from the “Big Two.”thumb160x_faea5132d4bb436233fa0b82a86123b4

From DC Comics, we have a plethora of Blackest Night books including the Batman spinoff and the main Blackest Night book comes out with issue two. Though, what I’m really looking forward to is Adventure Comics #1. I was pretty happy to see Bart Allen and Superboy revived in Legion of Three Worlds and Francis Manapul’s style on this book kind of reminds me of something from childhood.

For Marvel, I’d say the spotlight is on the new line of Ultimate Comics. Especially with David Lafuente on art for Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #1. It just looks like a book full of spectacular fun. Of course, the excellent X-Men/Dark Avengers event continues with Utopia

My final recommendation this week is something for you Star Trek nerds: Nero. This book gives us the back story, besides about five lines of dialogue, the movie didn’t bother with.

As always, we here at The Flickcast care about what you read, so let us know what you liked/didn’t like this week in the comments.  And iof you don’t like what you see here, be sure to check out Midtown Comics comprehensive list of what comes out today.
