Hello and welcome to a brand new episode of The Flickcast. A pop culture podcast about stuff nerds love. On this week’s show Joe is, unfortunately, away so Chris is joined (once again) by Rick Marshall of Digital Trends to talk about all sorts of amazing things.
Some of these amazing things include the recent HBOMax/Warner Bros announcement, some favorites from all the latest Marvel, Disney and Star Wars news and what they’re looking forward to in 2021. And yes, they also discuss how 2020 wasn’t all bad.
How do they explain “2020 wasn’t all bad”? Well, by highlighting some of the many great movies, tv shows and more that came out during this very difficult year. Hey it’s something, right? It wasn’t all bad, just mostly bad.
It’s a big show with lots going on. Thanks for listening and Happy Holidays!
WARNING: This episode may contain discussions about COVID-19, mental health and quarantine. We understand not everyone is in a place to talk about or hear discussions surrounding these issues. Please do what’s best for you. Stay safe everyone.
As always, if you have comments, questions, critiques, offers of sponsorship or whatever, feel free to hit us up in the comments, on Twitter, Instagram or, yes, even Facebook. Or shoot us an email. We don’t mind.

Yes, Christmas is just around the corner. Not only do you get a brand new episode of The Flickcast this week but next week it’s Christmas and you get a visit from Santa, assuming you’re on the “good” list and not the “naughty” one. No judgements either way, though. You do you.
On this week’s show Chris and Joe are joined by guest Dave Caolo of the Home Work podcast and Table Top Hero to talk about working at home, ways to ensure mindfulness during these stressful times, Dungeons & Dragons and a whole bunch of other cool stuff. And yes, they also manage to talk about the recent Warner Bros./HBO Max announcement and some of the recent Star Wars and Marvel announcements and what they might all mean.
The trio also offer a few last minute gift ideas for those of you who’ve waited to get that special someone in your life, well, something special. You know who you are.
It was a lot of stuff to cover. In fact, they really didn’t have time get into all of it so on next week’s show Chris and Joe will go deeper into all the announcements, what next year in entertainment and pop culture might look like and some of their favorite things from 2020. Yes, 2020 wasn’t all bad. Look for that episode soon.
In the meantime, though, sit back and relax and enjoy this week’s episode of The Flickcast. It’s a good one.
Thanks for listening.

On this episode Chris and Joe tackle a subject they don’t discuss very often: horror movies. That’s right, in honor of it being October and with Halloween coming up, the boys talk about some of their favorite horror films, what they like and don’t like about the genre and generally what scares them. Hint: it’s not clowns, although they are pretty scary.
And even if they don’t get completely into horror movies this time, they will on a special upcoming episode with a great guest. You’ll want to be here for that one. Meantime, they also get back into upcoming Marvel film and TV, heap even more praise on Enola Holmes, Millie Bobby Brown and the rest of the cast and renew their commitment to all-things Star Trek. Plus, the usual more.
This is gonna be a shorter episode synopsis as the actual episode is late due to some technical difficulties. So, we’ll just let it (and Chris & Joe) speak for themselves. Thanks for listening.

It’s a brand new episode of The Flickcast. Still going strong eight episodes in. Nice!
On this episode Chris and Joe get deep into all-things Marvel as they discuss WandaVision and how it fits into the greater MCU and what it means for other Marvel franchises like Doctor Strange and X-Men. They also talk about the Marvel multiverse and potential special appearances by various actors in upcoming movies and TV shows and how the Marvel schedule has been pushed around again.
They also talk Tom Cruise in space, 90s Justice League Crossovers, multiple Batmans and Flashes, new content and casting announcements like Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk, the newly announced Nick Fury series for Disney+, how Marvel may approach the action for the show given the “maturity” of Samual L. Jackson and who would win in a fight between Vin Diesel and Tom Cruise.
Plus, Chris gushes for more than a few minutes about how great Netflix’s Enola Holmes is. It is great. You should watch it. They also touch on other topics like video game consoles, Blade Runner: 2049, the horrible live-action D&D movie and, of course, the usual more.

It’s a brand new episode of The Flickcast. We’re still doing this! High fives all around.
Joe is off this week so Chris, and special guest Rick Marshall of Digital Trends, get deep into all-things movies, television and pop culture with discussions ranging from Zack Snyder’s Justice League to parenting during a pandemic to toxic fandom, the future of movies and movie theaters, their first “adult” movie experiences, what they’re watching and looking forward to and a whole lot more.
No really, they talk about a lot of stuff . . . and most of it’s pretty damn interesting. Why not give it a listen?

On this brand new episode (did we mention it’s brand new?) Chris and Joe discuss a bunch of new stuff including the state of entertainment, going to the movies (or not), what they’ve been watching, reading and doing during the “break,” how to keep busy and stay focused during the current world situation and a lot more.

That’s right. It’s time for a brand new episode of The Flickcast. Get excited. It’s a great day.
On this week’s episode Chris and Joe discuss a bunch of new stuff including more about Game of Thrones, Netflix’s The Defenders, The Punisher, the new Star Trek, revenge as a motive and more. Plus, the usual even more.
No beer selections again this week because the boys are recording in the morning again. And drinking in the morning is, well, probably a bad idea. Probably. Anyway, if you do drink beer (or whatever), try to buy local. It helps and it’s just a nice thing to do.
Picks this week include Chris’ pick of an item that everyone should have: a first aid kit. Joe’s pick this week is a challenge to all to donate to a relief organization like the American Red Cross or the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

We’re big fans of the Marvel series we’ve seen so far on Netflix. Starting with Daredevil, through Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, each series builds on the previous one and seems to get better and better. And now, with the release of its first full trailer, we’re feeling pretty confidant Iron Fist will be added to the list.
Billed as the final piece of The Defenders puzzle, Iron Fist follows the exploits of Danny Rand, recently returned to New York after many years thought dead, and possessing extraordinary material arts prowess. In short, he’s back and ready to clean up the streets, with a little help from his friends and his, well, iron fist. Cool.
Check out the latest trailer after the break. Look for Iron Fist to arrive on Netflix on March 17th.
