While many of us expected this title to be on the Nintendo Wii, it looks like Nintendo has something else in mind. Announced at Nintendo’s E3 press conference, Kid Icarus Uprising, the follow-up to the 1987 NES classic, will be a launch title designed specifically for the new Nintendo 3DS.
The main feature of the 3DS is the use of 3D gaming without glasses, which makes Kid Icarus Uprising a perfect title to launch with this system. In the teaser trailer, we watched Pitt soar through beautifully rendered areas, impressive graphics for a handheld. The gameplay was equally impressive. Kid Icarus Uprising will feature third person gameplay, different from the original game’s side-scrolling gameplay.
No release date for Kid Icarus Uprising or the Nintendo 3DS, but it’s fantastic to see a sequel to this game after so long. You can watch the teaser trailer for Kid Icarus Uprising revealed at E3 after the jump.
