‘Final Fantasy’ Comes to Android

If you’re even a casual gamer, chances are you’ve not only heard of Final Fantasy, the classic game from Square Enix now on its thirteenth chapter, you’ve played it as well. Well, if you’re an Android user and haven’t had the chance yet, your day has finally come as Final Fantasy is available today for Android through Google Play.

First released in 1987 for the NES (remember that?), the game’s Android version, like the version for iOS, includes a graphics update to the original 8-bit turn-based RPG and a touch-optimized control scheme. In truth, it actually looks pretty good and gameplay is not bad either.

According to the description over at Google Play “Players guide the Warriors of Light as they set out on a quest to restore the crystals to their former luster. Its side view battles, choice and promotion of character classes, and sprawling world explored with fantastic vehicles quickly became standards of the series. This game set the stage for all Final Fantasy games to come.”

It did indeed. Experience it again for the first time.

Final Fantasy is available for purchase now though Google Play for $6.99.
