This summer’s big tv shows are coming to a close, and while you’re freaking out over the ending of True Blood and considering the last, somber few minutes of Hung, a more pressing question emerges… what will you watch next?
Well, have no fear, because The Flickcast is here to help you with all the buzz-worthy shows that you’ll need to catch this month. Since September is normally the big season premier month, we’ve decided to remind you of some of the shows, both old and new, you just can’t live without.
Get ready to set those TiVo’s!
The Office — Premiers September 17th, 9/8c on NBC
Last season on The Office left Michael without Holly, Dwight without Angela and Jim and Pam with a little one on the way. Now starting its sixth season, audiences are definitely ready to be back at work at Dunder Mifflin. Expect The Office to be turned upside down as Jim and Pam prepare to say “I do”, Andy deals with his heterosexuality, and Dwight continues to watch out for bears.
Community — Premiers September 17th, 9:30/8:30c on NBC
On right after The Office, this is one new show you don’t wanna miss. After being caught with a fake law degree, Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) is forced to attend community college, and accidentally forms a small study group, including Chevy Chase and Donald Glover (30 Rock writer and Derrick Comedy personality). This show is sure to resonate well with audiences, as many kids have turned to community college to help deal with costs of rising tuition at four year institutions (myself included).
Bored to Death — Premiers September 20th, 9:30 on HBO
A new show on HBO’s fall lineup starring Jason Schwartzman, Ted Dansom, and Zach Galifianakis, Bored to Death is about Jonathan Ames (Schwartzman), a writer who goes through not only a breakup, but also the deadly “writer’s block”, decides to start moonlighting as a private detective. Be it the cast alone, or the new trailer, this show already looks pretty funny.
House — Premiers September 21st, 8/7c on Fox
Last season ended as House checked himself into a mental institution, and it looks like season six picks up right where the last one left off. It’ll be interesting to see how the good doctor handles being the treat-ed, rather than the treat-er, as well as how the team diagnoses patients without his guidance.
Dollhouse — Premiers September 25th, 9/8c on Fox
The first season of Dollhouse was fantastic, and all Joss Whedon fans rejoiced when Fox picked it up for a second season. If you haven’t already, make time to watch the unaired thirteenth episode of last season, “Epitaph One”, before Season 2 starts at the end of this month.
It’s surely a game-changing episode that will alter the way you look at the Dollhouse universe, as well as tide you over until season two actually begins.
