It’s getting colder and darker every day (at least in my part of the world), so it’s certainly time to curl up on the couch with some apple cider and some great TV, or at least that’s what I’ll be doing! While November brings us very few new TV shows, this month’s edition of Cortney’s TV Digest will let you know everything that’s going on with your favorite shows, no matter if they just premiered or have been with us for awhile.
V
A reimagining of the 80’s classic TV mini-series, V tells the tale of aliens who have landed on Earth in peace, but secretly have sinister motives. Starring Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Scott Wolf, V premiered November 3rd to big ratings and will run for four weeks.
It will then go on hiatus, returning in March 2010 to finish the season.
NBC’s “Green is Universal” Week
For those of you who are eco-friendly (which is hopefully everyone), the week of November 15th is NBC’s Green is Universal Week. Look out for green-themed messages on comedies “Parks and Recreation,” “The Office” and “30 Rock”, reality show such as “The Biggest Loser,” and medical and/or cop shows like “Mercy”, “Trauma” and “Law & Order”/”SVU.”
Community
Have you guys been watching Community? I hope so. I mentioned it in September’s Digest, and it’s just gotten better and better. NBC and viewers think so at least, because it recently picked it up for a full season.
My favorite thing about Community is the little moments between Abed and Troy at the end of the episodes, where they discuss important life struggles such as donut cannibalism.
In this week’s episode, Jeff decides to find a place to live and Annie helps Troy find the perfect date.
Glee
You really can’t talk to anyone about TV shows these days without being asked, “ARE YOU WATCHING GLEE?!?!” It seems that this is everyone’s favorite new show this fall. What will suck you in is the vast array of songs that the characters in the high school glee club perform on the show, including “Don’t Stop Believin'”, “Somebody to Love”, and “Take a Bow.”
Fans were disappointed as the World Series took up Glee‘s time spot these past two weeks, but since the cast sang The National Anthem at Game 3 and the Yankees won last night, Glee will be back on the air next week.
