‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2′ Stimulus Package Coming to XBox 360

by John Carle, Mar 12 2010 // 7:00 AM

Credited as the biggest entertainment launch in history, players have flocked literally by the millions to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on XBox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 to battle through the game’s already legendary multiplayer mode. Since its release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has dominated the top played games over XBox Live without anyone else even coming close.

It’s no surprise that the first new multiplayer maps will be coming to the XBox 360 in the form of the “Stimulus Package” as it has been dubbed by Activision. Other than its release date of March 30th, nothing else is known as of yet about the “Stimulus Package”. Many players are keeping their fingers crossed already for “Zombie Mode” maps to come to fruition as they did in Call of Duty: World At War through DLC.

In additional Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 news, in a move geared to give Activision a more positive image after the recent Infinity Ward controversy, it looks like XBox Live Silver members will get a chance to experience the game’s online multiplayer for free. While PC and PlayStation 3 gamers experience this already, Activision will be allowing XBox 360 users a free weekend between March 12th and 15th to play without the worry of XBox Live’s subscription cost.

With more than a billion dollars in sales thus far, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down and is ready to continue bringing more content to its users with the “Stimulus Package” and free trial this weekend.

You guys who think this is the best game are either young or never played good games. All it is is online play with a quick storyline. Zelda games are much better and according to the top 200 games made by game informer Call of duty was #181 while the zelda games where all in the top 100′s with the first legend of zelda as #1 so suck it

I see alot of people bitching on these blog posts on how the new dlc is 1200 ms points ($15). Well think about it. Cod4 had 3 maps and it was 800msp. This dlc has 6 maps and it is 1200msp. In a way, this is actually really cheap when you get down to it. Everybody stop being jews and buy it on its release.

Hahahahahahahaha! This kid is a joke. Halo3 is in second place now kid so get over it. Modern Warfare2 is the best game ever even when Halo Reach comes out. Modern Warfare stole Halo3′s title of the best game played. People won’t get zombies in Modern Warfare2, because it already has Spec. Ops.

Actually, Halo 3 was the biggest entertainment launch in history, but Modern Warfare 2 comes in second.

Can’t wait for the new map pack though!

      Direct from Activision’s press release:
“Developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 became acultural phenomenon when it launched to the world in November. Theepic title set new entertainment records for the greatest one-day and five-day openings”
But agreed, cannot wait for the map pack.

Never mind when halo reach comes out it will almost be as good as modern warfare2.
