Some Verizon iPhones Out for Delivery Today

Some Verizon iPhones Out for Delivery Today

I know, reading that headline you may be skeptical because you haven’t received your iPhone 4 notification of shipment yet from Big Red. However, as I got mine last Friday night, I can assure you that Verizon is indeed sending out the iPhone 4 a little earlier than they originally let on. Actually, several days early.

In fact, the news for those of us who stayed awake until midnight West Coast time to order is even better than that. According to an update at Fedex, my particular iPhone 4 is actually on a truck and out for delivery today. See, miracles do happen.

Of course I realize that the iPhone from Verizon is exactly like the iPhone from AT&T and isn’t exactly revolutionary, more like evolutionary. Also, I realize it will actually have some subtle, but potentially problematic, differences from the AT&T version. However, that doesn’t stop me from being pretty excited about the prospect of the best smartphone on the best wireless network.

So, once it arrives in my hands expect a full report and maybe even one or two unboxing photos. In the meantime, if you’ve ordered yours via the Verizon pre-order, don’t lose hope. Your shiny new goodness is probably on the way very soon too.

Got mine as well. YAHOOOO. Had the 1st generation iphone 3 year ago. Canceled after view month and went back to Verizon. The 2 1/2 year wait was so worth it. THANKS VERIZON & APPLE

My iPhone arrived at 9:45 am. Set up was a breeze. I had a little glitch with transferring contacts but eventually got them moved. I have waited and hoped for a while that this day would come. I feel like a kid at Christmas! I love my phone. Go verizon!

I got a “Delivery Exception: Local Delivery restriction, delivery not attempted” notification on my tracking. No idea what that means. Now it says it’s back at the local facility but I can’t find a phone number that actually calls a real person to find out if it really is or not. I’ll go pick the darn thing up if I can!

Fed ex system crashed this morning. Not sure if that is what happened.

I’m with MichaelJ! FedEx showed delivery today by 2:45. At 2:40 the tracking info showed a Delivery Exception: Future Delivery Requested. I’m working from home today, specifically to sign for this package. *narrows eyes dangerously at Apple/Verizon*

I think Apple/Verizon may be holding this back now. My order was just updated with a Delivery Exception: Future Delivery Requested. The delivery date was today, but now shows tomorrow at 3:00 pm. Not happy. I pre-ordered so I think I should have mine today as expected. Oh well…
