Fox Renews ‘New Girl’, ‘Raising Hope, & ‘Bones’ For Another Season

by Sebastian Suchecki, Apr 10 2012

Fox announced the renewal of three more of their series for next season.  The three series are freshman comedy New Girl, musical comedy Glee and family comedy Raising Hope.

These renewals mean a second season for New Girl, a third season for Raising Hope, and that Glee will get a fourth season. The three comedies join recently renewed Fox drama Bones.

“Over the past season, New Girl has become the hottest new appointment series for young adults; Raising Hope has established itself as one of the smartest and most unique offbeat comedies on television; and Glee has continued its success as a genre-defying, global cultural phenomenon,” said Fox’s entertainment president Kevin Reilly. “All three of these comedies add a fresh and distinctive flavor to our Tuesday nights, and I’m really happy to bring them back to our air next season.”

The renewal announcement for break out hit New Girl was no surprise and Raising Hope has been delivering solid numbers since it was moved to the anchor 8 PM position in the two-hour comedy block Fox tried out while Glee was on hiatus. The positive numbers Raising Hope has been delivering has earned it a spot on the renewal list alongside Glee and New Girl.

Fox’s Tuesday night lineup will consist of all three of the renewed series, Glee, followed by New Girl and Raising Hope, and they all return with new episodes tonight.

As for Fox’s other comedy series, most people didn’t even know episodes of I Hate My Teenage Daughter have started to air and will surely be canceled, while Breaking In, which was a last minute decision to be brought back last year, is on the brink of cancellation once again. On the drama side, we still have Fringe, Alcatraz, and The Finder still on the bubble for renewal, this will officially be the last season of House.

More renewal and cancellation news as it becomes available.
