I’m sure I speak for a lot of you out there when I admit that I miss Battlestar Galactica. It was a great show full of action, drama, suspense, pathos, great acting and memorable characters. One of those memorable characters, and also one of my personal favorites, was Starbuck — played on the show by the beautiful and talented Katee Sackhoff.
During the four seasons of BSG, Sackhoff brought a great intensity and humor to the role of Starbuck as well as some anger, volatility and vulnerability. It was a complex and compelling performance that will surely go down as one of the best on television thus far and one I definitely miss each Friday now that BSG is no longer on the air.
Of course, I’ve always got my DVDs of BSG to comfort me and I’m sure Katee will go on to many more prominent roles on TV and in films. Meanwhile, even if my DVDs of the show aren’t handy, I can still get my Katee fix from this interview Crackle’s Jace Hall did with her at The Smoke House, one of my favorite BBQ places in Burbank.
At least he didn’t try to interview her at Starbucks. If so, I think the universe might have imploded. Katee comes in after the first few minutes so please, be patient and enjoy.
