One thing Smallville has been good at over the years is their use of Superman villains and how they incorporate them into this universe. Yesterday we brought you a brand new clip from tomorrow night’s season premiere in which Clark and Chloe discuss Lois’ disappearance into the future. It was also explained that she brought someone back with her, and that someone may be dangerous.
In today’s clip, we get a look at just who that someone is, and he’s already well known in the Superman mythos. Brian Austin Green guest stars in a few episodes this season as the villain John Corben, better known as the cybernetic killing machine Metallo.
In the comics, Metallo was a creation of Lex Luthor, who was powered by green Kryptonite to take down the last son of Krypton. It looks like the origin was changed a bit here, as Metallo followed Lois back from the future when she left at the end of the last season.

September 28, 2009 at 7:39 pmBrian Austin Green is awesome. He was amazing as Derek Reese in Terminator (he would have stolen the show if Summer Glau, Garret Dillahunt, and Shirley Manson weren’t all so great), and I may just start watching Smallville just to see him in it.
It is kind of ironic that he is playing a robot in this, seeing as how much he despised robots in Terminator.
