Captain America and Thor Cameo Confirmed in ‘Iron Man 2’?

Much like the weeks leading up to the release of the first Iron Man film, fanboys and fangirls are taking to the Internets with loads of rumors and speculation on what we can expect to see in the upcoming sequel. Of course, there are all manner of possibilities including things as outrageous as a scene in which The Hulk shows up, as well as a few things like “names on a dossier” which may give clues on the makeup of The Avengers.

It looks like we may be getting some confirmation on what to expect in two weeks. One of the major expectations is what the “easter egg” in this film will be.

We all remember the post-credits sequence with Sam Jackson as Nick Fury (and how much craze that started in the fan community).

Now, we’re getting word that there is yet another scene after the credits, and this one is a doozie. From the Italian site badtaste.it:

“A 100% trusted source (NOT from the production/distribution, but very familiar with the movie) confirmed us today that there will be an easter egg in IM2. It’s an extra scene, just like the one in the first movie, after the end credits.

We are able to tell you what’s about! It’s a scene about… Captain America and Thor! Maybe this doesn’t seem a big reveal, but it’s nice to have a confirmation.”

So there you have it. Possible confirmation that both Captain America and Thor will be at least referenced after the credits in Iron Man 2. Chris Hemsworth is currently shooting Thor, so it’s possible that he was able to put together a quick scene for Favreau, but it seems unlikely that Chris Evans will be seen.

What this means for Joss Whedon’s Avengers is also yet to been determined. We know that he’s having a hand in most–if not all–of the upcoming Marvel Studios projects, so we can expect to see a slight change in direction once those changes go into effect in next year’s Captain America.

Jamie, they didn’t say that he will be in the movie. Just in a scene after the credits. To me that isn’t part of the movie per se’

      @ Jay

Not part of the movie? Wtf… how is it NOT part of the movie? Not only is it as canon as the Nick Fury scene in the first Iron-Man, but it is literally PART of the movie, before or after credits.

Thor’s the f’in man! If you don’t like him, you don’t read his comics (or at least not the good ones, hey, every superhero has stinkers.)

He’s pretty much superman, but willing to kill, bad ass, and not a goody-toe-shoes. He literally killed every single marvel character EVER in a comic arc. He’s DA MAN!

I cannot find the exact page (I will continue to look later) but it has been confirmed that the cameos will appear in the film, or as Slashfilm said it ‘the movie-movie’

This is from an interview at Collider.com

“Collider: I asked people on Twitter to tweet me questions that they want to know. You mentioned downstairs that this film takes place around the same time as Incredible Hulk.

Kevin Feige: If you…there’s a thing in the movie that will tell you exactly the time line. Exactly where it takes place. Did you see that?

No. They have not shown us the Easter egg at the end of the movie.

Feige: That’s not it. It’s in the movie-movie.

      Really?

      Feige: Yeah.”
