If you’ve been one of the people banging your head against the wall waiting for Sony to restore the PlayStation network so you can get on with your life (trust us, we know people who are doing exactly that), you’ve got more time to wait. On its PlayStation Network blog yesterday, Sony gave an official statement on when the PlayStation Network will be back online.
Sadly, the answer wasn’t “right now.” Instead, the answer is that the network won’t be restored for “at least a few more days.” I’m sure you recall that both the PSN and Sony’s Qriocity networks suffered a major security breach recently where hackers reportedly stole 12.3 million credit card numbers and compromised personal data from 101 million accounts. Awesome, right?
“I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored,” Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold wrote on Sony’s PSN blog. ”At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.”
Sure we will. I can hear cash registers all over the world ringing right now with sales of brand new XBox 360’s.
Sony better hurry, get the network back up and running and make this right with users or soon nobody will care and will have switched to XBox 360 and XBox Live.

PS3 is better than Xbox in almost every comparison. it can outperform the Xbox on almost any game on the market, and it has an amazing free online.
yes it did get hacked, but so what. who’s to say Microsoft didn’t have anything to do with it?
and, at all the fools thinking just because you PAY for a service it’s more safe/secure, it’s not.
sony is just as capable if not more than to give good quality service than Microsoft. MS’s only advantage over that is their years of experience with the matter. regardless, programming security nowadays doesn’t take a computer genius like it used to. it takes near-constant maintenance, and a large workload.
i highly doubt it’s true, but if in fact Microsoft has better security than sony(meaning if microsoft was targeted who again is to say that the same would have happend?) it’s only because your paycheck goes to 2-3 extra programmers and their salary(wild estimation).
regardless, PS3 not only has better genres(Asian games tend to have AMAZING graphics and detail in comparison to American made), but it’s faster, performs better, and my personal favorite gaming console.
so go ahead and waste your $$ on an xbox. it won’t matter to sony, you’ve already bought their product. eventually i’m sure you’ll get 3 red lights and bring out your baby again 🙂

The only problem with that mentality is…Xbox is not as good a console as the PS3. Considering Xbox is 1) NOT a blue ray player, and 2) you have to pay for the online service, which most of us adults would not stand for after paying some odd $400 for the PS3 console, the Xbox is mostly for kids, and the PS3 is for adults who grew up playing games from as early as the Atari 2600 and on.

much time and effort into making sure no one could play back-ups of
their games or Blu Rays on their PS3’s but absolutely ZERO time into
upgrading their systems or making our information secure.
