Check Out A Preview for Tonight’s Season Finale of ‘The Office’

Tonight’s the night we find out (probably) who will be the new boss on The Office to replace Michael Scott (aka Steve Carell). A litany of guest starts are along for the ride and should make this an interesting show, to say the least.

Here’s the breakdown from NBC:

If you were going into a job interview, wouldn’t it be nice to meet Jim Halpert? That’s what the candidates will face tonight on The Office! Everyone knows Dwight’s vying for the new manager job, but he’s facing stiff competition from guest stars Jim Carey, Will Arnett, Ricky Gervais, Ray Romano, and Catherine Tate among others.

There’s also the Parks and Rec season finale tonight as well as a bonus episode right before it. In the bonus episode, Chris wants to make departmental changes and Tom doubts his career path. Then, the season finale features an old friend that may surprise you (it did us).

Click through to check out a preview for tonight’s episode of The Office after the break. Find out who the boss is tonight at 9/8C on NBC. No, it probably won’t be Tony Danza.

Sony’s Latest PS3 Firmware Update May Be Causing Some Consoles to Overheat

As if the beleaguered Sony doesn’t have enough problems already what with all the recent security breaches, hacking and general ill will from fans who waited a long time for the PSN to come back online. Now it seems we can add another potential issue to the already troubled company’s litany of problems.

According to sources at Rockstar Games, the developer of hit games such as Grand Theft Auto and L.A. Noir, the latest 3.61 firmware update for the Sony PS3 is causing units to overheat.

“We have received some reports of PS3s overheating while playing L.A. Noire or beeping three times before shutting down / turning themselves off, mostly on older 60GB and 80GB fat models,” Rockstar customer service team said on its support page, as reported by MCVUK.

Rockstar also offered that the problem is not just with L.A. Noir and that users are experiencing the same issue with other games. When the problem occurs, the red light or PS3 freeze usually happens between 30 minutes to 2 hours after starting a game.

Here’s a statement from Rockstar Customer Service on the subject. This is, however, not an “official” statement from the company (at least not yet):

“At this time we are recommending contacting Sony directly to report the overheating issue. However, this is not the end of our support; we are continuing to test L.A. Noire on all firmware versions and hardware models to isolate the issues and see what can be done. As always, we will update this article as soon as we have updates.”

Sucks to be Sony right now. Anyone had any problems like this after updating your PS3? If so, sound off in the comments.

Adult Swim Announces Fall Schedule for 2011 – 2012

Of all the networks out there, both major “big four” and smaller, Adult Swim is one of our favorites. They have some of the funniest and most unusual (in a good way) programming on TV and we watch pretty much all of their shows religiously.

Obviously, we’re happy to hear that today Adult Swim has announced its new schedule of programming for the Fall of 2011 into 2012. Here’s all the scoop on new and returning shows from the official press release:

New original series and specials:

· NTSF:SD:SUV::—NTSF:SD:SUV:: (National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle), is a clandestine team of government agents working together to protect San Diego from numerous terrorist threats coming in daily from such evil countries as Mexico, Canada and Guam. This team of highly trained operatives has only one job: saving your ass so you can drive your Prius and see your movies in 3-D without worrying about living in a country run by no-good terrorists.

As with many other acronym-ed police procedurals that dominate the airwaves, NTSF:SD:SUV::’s season of 15-minute episodes is ripped from the headlines and full of suspense, action, drama, cliffhangers, yelling, passionate love-making, more yelling, death and plenty of pregnant pauses. NTSF:SD:SUV:: is created by Paul Scheer and stars Scheer, Rebecca Romjin, Rob Riggle, Kate Mulgrew, Brandon Johnson, June Diane Raphael, Martin Starr and S.A.M., the first sentient robot on television. Paul Scheer and Jonathan Stern are executive producers. Curtis Gwinn is co-executive producer. Series premieres this summer on Adult Swim.

· THE VENTURE BROS. SPECIAL—FROM THE LADLE TO THE GRAVE: THE STORY OF SHALLOW GRAVY—See the Venture Family as you’ve never seen them before: in a 15-minute documentary-style animated special. Follow the meteoric rise, the equally meteoric fall, and the decidedly un-meteor-like second coming of the most important band Hank Venture, Dermott Fitctel and H.E.L.P.eR. robot have ever been in: Shallow Gravy.

Get Your First Look at Marvel’s ‘Captain America Corps’ #1

With Captain America about to make his way to the big screen in a new movie, it should come as no surprise to anyone that Marvel is coming out with Cap-centric comic book titles to help build awareness of the character for new fans and gets existing fans psyched for the film.

With that in mind we’ve got a preview of Marvel’s Captain America Corps #1. Written by Roger Stern with art by Philippe Briones, this new comic sees Cap and company in action in WWII to save the USA. Here’s more on the comic from Marvel:

When bedlam breaks loose in a dystopic America, the Watcher calls together the nation’s greatest team to save our nation and the world! Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, U.S.Agent, American Dream, and Commander A must band together to cut the American public loose from the malicious control of Americommand. But can the Sentinel of Libertys, led by Steve and Bucky, work with one another before it’s too late?

Not 100% sure about the artwork for this one. Some of it looks good and some looks a little, well, off. Judge for yourself.

Check out the preview pages after the jump. Look for Captain America Corps #1 in comic stores on June 15th.

3D ‘Titanic’ Coming in April 2012

It’s probably only a matter of time before every movie ever made is converted to 3D. Fortunately, that’s just an exaggeration as we can’t see something like Ishtar, Heaven’s Gate, Norbit or Catwoman getting the 3D treatment any time soon.

However, that hasn’t stopped James Cameron from going ahead with his plans to convert Titanic to 3D and release it into the wild. And now that blessed event has a firm date: April 6, 2012.

In case you’re wondering, that date kinda makes sense considering it marks the centennial anniversary of the actual Titanic’s maiden voyage, although I believe the date is a little early and the ship actually left port on April 10th. Oh well, details, details.

Considering Cameron himself is not a fan of converting 3D  movies and prefers to shoot them that way from the start, its interesdting that he decided to convert  Titanic. Let’s try not to be cynical and see this as just another grab for cash by a guy who’s already a Billionare.

I’m sure he’s got perfectly altruistic motives for doing this. I’m sure, okay? Get off Jim’s back. Damn.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg to Reteam in ‘Turkey Bowl’

Fans of last year’s hit buddy-cop comedy The Other Guys will be delighted by news that the hilarious on-screen team of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will be re-teaming with Adam McKay for the upcoming film Turkey Bowl.

Here’s the official synopsis from Deadline.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg [will star] as guys from football-obsessed towns who lead rival teams in an annual tackle football game for bragging and trash-talking rights. The tackle games are grandiose, and I’m told they plan to pack it with fun cameos, just the way they did during the rival broadcaster gang fights in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Alec Baldwin is already aboard as Wahlberg’s father. Sold as a pitch, the project will be written by 30 Rock’s Robert Carlock, and Scott Silveri, with the story by Owen Burke of Gary Sanchez Productions. Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy will produce through their Sanchez banner and Wahlberg through his Closest to the Hole banner.

Beast Gets Some Love in a New Clip From ‘X-Men: First Class’

Clips are flowing like water these days as we get closer and closer to the June 3rd release date of Fox’s X-Men: First Class from Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn.

We brought you some great clips showcasing the original team of mutants like Banshee, Havok, and Mystique, but now we’re giving Hank McCoy a.k.a. Beast some love.

From what we can gather from the clips we’ve seen, it looks like McCoy (played by About a Boy star Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (played by the up and coming star Jennifer Lawrence) are set to be in a bit of a love story, which is interesting considering the shared color the two have in common.

Check out the clip after the jump of Beast and Mystique meeting for the first time, and be sure to catch X-Men: First Class in theaters on June 3.
