Well friends, its that time you’ve been waiting for because its now official: Summer Glau and Joss Whedon are back together again. According to a statement released by Fox today, Glau will again team with her Firefly/Serenity creator Joss Whedon as a recurring cast member on Dollhouse. She will play a new character named “Bennett” on the show and that’s pretty much all we know at the moment except that she works at the Dollhouse and “shares a past” with Eliza Dushku’s character Echo.
Shares a past could be pretty interesting. Give me a minute here. . . okay, I’m back. Moving on.
In the statement, Fox also released details of other guest stars on the show’s second season, which starts on Friday, September 25 at 9/8C:
Summer Glau (“Firefly,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) reunites with Joss Whedon when the actress joins the cast of DOLLHOUSE this fall in a recurring role as BENNETT, a Dollhouse employee who shares a past with ECHO (Eliza Dushku). The second season of DOLLHOUSE premieres Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Its not a secret how we feel about Joss Whedon and his major creations Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Dollhouse. In short, we’re fans. Big fans. In fact, we’ve tried to do what we can to get the word out about Whedon’s latest creation Dollhouse and hopefully help a bit to keep the show going.
So, its was with great excitement that we saw this video posted up over at EW. In it, both Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku dish on the next season of Dollhouse and offer a bit more info on what to expect from the show. Be warned, some of this info could be considered SPOILERS so watch at your own risk.
However, if you’re not afraid of knowing too much, check out the video after the jump.

Our friends over at ComicMix posted this bit of info and with all the work getting the show together, we’re only now able to get to it. In an unprecedented move, Fox Home Video is releasing a special advanced limited edition DVD or Blu-Ray of the first season of Dollhouse. The odd part, and the main reason we’re bringing this info to you, is that the DVD is a Comic-Con exclusive.
They are only making 5000 of these limited editions (2500 of each format) with each featuring a personal letter to fans from Whedon, exclusive Comic-Con packaging, and a first look at the mysterious unaired episode “Epitaph One”. The DVD is available for pre-order at the Fox website right now through July 20 — or until they sell out. Although, a recent check of the site shows there’s over 2000 copies of each version still available, so I think you’ll be okay.
A limited quantity will also be available for purchase during Comic-Con at the Fox Booth (#1429). In person pick-up for pre-ordered copies will begin at the Fox Booth on Wednesday, July 22 during Comic-Con “Preview Night.” Photo ID is required or purchasers must designate at checkout someone who will pick-up the DVD on their behalf.
The Dollhouse Season One Comic-Con Blu-ray Disc will run you $69.99 and the DVD costs $49.98. Regular versions of Dollhouse Season One on Blu-ray and DVD will be available everywhere July 28.
Confused? Well don’t worry because after the jump, Joss Whedon himself will explain it all to you.

If you are one of the many fans of Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse and were hoping for some sort of last minute miracle repreve from the chopping block for your show, sadly it seems the chances of that have gotten even smaller. According to info from the Hollywood Reporter, ratings for last Friday’s season (or series) finale of Dollhouse were the worst yet for the freshman series.
2.8 million viewers watched the show and it earned a 1.0 preliminary adults 18-49 rating. That rating could improve slightly in the national average as the show had a minute of Prison Break overrun. But that would only help the show match last week’s season low of a 1.1. Not great.
So, will Dollhouse get a second season? With ratings like these and Fox’s track record with Joss Whedon shows, the chances are slim. Still, Fox may want to bring back at least one of its high-profile Sci-Fi shows for next season and ratings for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles were not any better and its now, supposedly, out of the running. Maybe that will give Dollhouse the edge it needs?
We’ll find out on May 18th when Fox reveals its new fall schedule.

If you love Joss Whedon and his shows then you’re probably a fan of Dollhouse. Recently, at the annual PaleyFest in Los Angeles, Joss, series star Eliza Dushku and several more of the show’s cast and producers were on a panel discussing the show, what it all means and if its going to survive.
If you were one of the lucky few able to score a ticket to the event, you’ve already seen the panel and experienced it live. If you’re like most other fans, you weren’t there and had to hear about it from others who were.
But now, thanks to the folks at the PaleyFest, if you were not able to attend, at least you can watch some highlights of the panel on video. Over at the official PaleyFest website, they’ve posted video clips from the Dollhouse panel and, if you’re interested, they’ve also got clips from Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia as well. Check ’em out.
On a related note, The Flickcast will be at the PaleyFest tonight for the Battlestar Galactica panel, so expect a report on all the festivities.
