Two More Superstar DJs Coming to ‘DJ Hero 2′

When you talk about DJ Hero 2,  it’s hard not to start thinking about DJs as celebrities. Whether or not their name is thrown about your household, much of the world likely knows more of their work than some fly by night pop act that will be off the radio within two months. One such example of this is Tiësto.

Joining the ranks of Deadmau5 will be a man who could safely be considered the hottest DJ in the world at this time. Tiësto has literally performed in front of billions when he provided the music during the opening ceremonies of the Athens Olympics. He has collaborated with Muse, Justin Timberlake, Jónsi from Sigur Rós, Flo Rida, Sean Kingston and Three 6 Mafia and headlined the massive music festivals like the Coachella and Bonnaroo.

Check out the video after the jump, where Tiësto talks about what it means for him to be a part of the DJ Hero 2 world and how being a DJ isn’t just about hitting the play button.

Tiësto won’t be coming to DJ Hero 2 alone either as DJ Qbert will also be added to the game’s roster. Always on the cutting edge of his industry, Qbert has been credited as one of the true pioneers in turntablism, something fairly important to a game that revolves around a turntable controller. “I’m excited about finally getting to bring the art of turntablism’s defining skills, as well as two exclusive mixes, to DJ Hero 2,” said DJ Qbert. “It’s been a dream of mine as a gamer to battle myself on the turntables and now millions of fans around the world and their friends will get their chance to also.”

“As a pioneer of his craft, DJ Qbert’s one-of-a-kind scratch and battle skills made him an amazing partner and prefect representative of DJ Hero 2’s new multiplayer modes, especially the unique DJ vs. DJ battle mixes,” said Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs, Activision. “We’re bringing together the biggest and best DJ’s from around the globe, having already announced Deadmau5 and David Guetta as part of our incredibly talented crew, and having DJ Qbert cut up records in his signature style will help us put an indelible stamp on the DJ Hero 2 soundtrack.”

Take a look below at the battle remixes that Qbert has crafted for the game. As always, stick with us for more news on DJ Hero 2 as its Fall release fast approaches.

About John Carle

The Definition of “Geek Chic.” Comic books, sci-fi movies, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Lord of the Rings and more all rolled up in a Diesel wearing, club going socialite package. Having worked in both advertising and television, John is a lifetime writer always being a part of the creative process. John knows the television world between his experience on being involved with the production process of over two hundred episodes of prime time tv and being a self admitted media whore. Yes he has a weakness for trash tv, Michael Bay-esque action movies and the raunchy teen comedy as well. Never try to debate the Original Star Wars Trilogy versus Star Trek with him because the Holy Trilogy always comes out on top. Having partied with movie stars to Playboy centerfolds, John is somehow always able to find someone’s inner geek. The simplest rules that John lives by is to have fun and doing what makes him happy. There’s no shame in being a geek. Play Halo, read Spider-Man and proudly display the whole series of Neon Genesis: Evangelion on your DVD rack. And most importantly, make sure to read his weekly comic book pull list reviews at The Flickcast.
