If you’ve been one of the people banging your head against the wall waiting for Sony to restore the PlayStation network so you can get on with your life (trust us, we know people who are doing exactly that), you’ve got more time to wait. On its PlayStation Network blog yesterday, Sony gave an official statement on when the PlayStation Network will be back online.
Sadly, the answer wasn’t “right now.” Instead, the answer is that the network won’t be restored for “at least a few more days.” I’m sure you recall that both the PSN and Sony’s Qriocity networks suffered a major security breach recently where hackers reportedly stole 12.3 million credit card numbers and compromised personal data from 101 million accounts. Awesome, right?
“I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored,” Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold wrote on Sony’s PSN blog. ”At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.”
Sure we will. I can hear cash registers all over the world ringing right now with sales of brand new XBox 360’s.
Sony better hurry, get the network back up and running and make this right with users or soon nobody will care and will have switched to XBox 360 and XBox Live.
That is, if they haven’t already.

There are two kinds of people, PS people and XBox People. I doubt that any dedicated Play Station people will make that kind of switch based on a problem that could have happened to any network. I have used only PS for years, generation after generation, I am dedicated to Play Station and Play Station only. I’m rooting for PS, fully supportive and my loyalties will stay with a brand that I have spent years with on the couch with six packs and friends.

personally, i won’t trade in my ps3 because playstation has some of my favorite games exclusive to the system, but this is really p****** me off. and a month of free playstation plus to make up for it (among other things)? sony needs to get their acts together, because this is severely hurting them financially

I am glad I chose Xbox from the beginning… of course back then it was because I didn’t want my carpet to melt. I do have a psp though and have been looking forward to Qriocity (as the psp doesn’t have anything good as far as games).

K, i am a trickshotter on ps3 on mw2 with my clan (aztecgamingps3x) and only play when im bored. Yes, i miss hanging out with my friends and all but there CYBER and STRANGER friends, maybe you should find REAL friends. Find something to do. I agree, I have been largely supportive of Sony as a company and a PS3 owner for years, I have purchased three in the last 6 or 7 years. But as of now, they have about one more day and I will be officially through with Playstation…. Sort of like I am through with Samsung for selling me that piece crap DLP color wheel boat anchor. Bought three 4 flat panels last year none were Samsung. Friday I will be buying an x-box if PSN is till down….never to look toward Playstation again. I would have rather had a solid date of July 4th… Then be teased with a a week from yesterday, then the end of the week, now at least a few more days? Looks like Microsoft will be getting my disposable income….wel at least until Apple decides to produce a console!!!!!
I think it’s getting kinda old with all the bs from Sony. Nearly a month now and they still can’t restore service? I do a little programing and know some what about what’s going on. It seems more like something else is going on other then them trying to rebuild a network and bring up servers. I personally think someone is getting thick pockets for all of this. A group of homos with computers that do simple hacks and mods to ps3 couldn’t take down such a large company like Sony.

I’m 11 and I have grown up playing Playstation since PS1, IT supported good Graphics, especially for Final Fantasy VIII. Now I use the PSP, it is awesome, but the only problem is that PSN has been down since I got Dissidia 012, and I WANT THE ADD-ONS!!!!!!
