If you’ve been one of the people banging your head against the wall waiting for Sony to restore the PlayStation network so you can get on with your life (trust us, we know people who are doing exactly that), you’ve got more time to wait. On its PlayStation Network blog yesterday, Sony gave an official statement on when the PlayStation Network will be back online.
Sadly, the answer wasn’t “right now.” Instead, the answer is that the network won’t be restored for “at least a few more days.” I’m sure you recall that both the PSN and Sony’s Qriocity networks suffered a major security breach recently where hackers reportedly stole 12.3 million credit card numbers and compromised personal data from 101 million accounts. Awesome, right?
“I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored,” Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold wrote on Sony’s PSN blog. ”At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.”
Sure we will. I can hear cash registers all over the world ringing right now with sales of brand new XBox 360’s.
Sony better hurry, get the network back up and running and make this right with users or soon nobody will care and will have switched to XBox 360 and XBox Live.

Today’s the last time I’m keeping my eyes on the news. I’m tired of keeping everyone I know updated, and I’m still just meh on this situation. I do have to say that PSN will barely lose players. Not many want to up and switch to the second console when they have all of their data on their PS3s. I also doubt they want to begin pay for play services online. I’m not Playing Playstation till network is up I’m tired of all this crap just fix it already so people can get back on. And y have commercials for Playstation network when people can’t even get on. Hope it’s fixed by cod map Pack comes out heard great reviews. Just hurry up and fix for the Cod fans and also the socom fans got it for Easter and can’t even play online. i’m reposting what i posted yesterday because a LOT of you need to take a new logical perspective on this issue:
PS3 is better than Xbox in almost every comparison. it can outperform
the Xbox on almost any game on the market, and it has an amazing free
online.
yes it did get hacked, but so what. who’s to say Microsoft didn’t have anything to do with it?
and, at all the fools thinking just because you PAY for a service it’s more safe/secure, it’s not.

is just as capable if not more than to give good quality service than
Microsoft. MS’s only advantage over that is their years of experience
with the matter. regardless, programming security nowadays doesn’t take a
computer genius like it used to. it takes near-constant maintenance,
and a large workload.
i highly doubt it’s true, but if in
fact Microsoft has better security than sony(meaning if microsoft was
targeted who again is to say that the same would have happend?) it’s
only because your paycheck goes to 2-3 extra programmers and their
salary(wild estimation).
regardless, PS3 not only has
better genres(Asian games tend to have AMAZING graphics and detail in
comparison to American made), but it’s faster, performs better, and my
personal favorite gaming console.
so go ahead and
waste your $$ on an xbox. it won’t matter to sony, you’ve already bought
their product. eventually i’m sure you’ll get 3 red lights and bring
out your baby again 🙂
i changed my 360 to my ps3 in december and i can tell you, it was stupid. i didnt like any ps3 exclusive(but uncharted 2) soccom 4, killzone 3, lbp2,resistance all they were so lame! the characters doesnt have personality, the campaigns are so lame and the online, well its free but it feels i dunno kinda lonely.i changed my ps3 for an xbox 360 slim and im telling you: im having the time of my life(partys,listening music in the background,larger comunitty,playing with my old friends…) aniway its just my oppinion i think the xbox 360 its funnier, the ps3 for my taste is a little cold

People need to clam down and wait for PSN to get back. Rather than rushing up on building a new network, let Sony build a better network to ensure that this will never happen again. There’s more things to do than just playing Video Games all day and I love playing video games.

ive played battlefield since they came out on pc years ago and swapped to psn i love my ps3 and the games just a little annoyed how long its takin to get back up,shouldnt sony have placed security in place before takin money of us for playstation plus etc common sony whats going on your being a little vague about time scales we deserve to know wahts going on,I personaly have spent a small fortune through psn network,sort it out let us know exactly whats is going on you owe it to your customers …..!
