Apple’s Garage Band Now Available for iPhone and iPod Touch

Ok music creation fans who don’t have iPads, your time has come. That’s right, Apple has today official dropped the Garage Band app for iPhone and iPod Touch.

As you probably know, prior to today, it was only available for OS X-running Macs and on the iPad. But no more. Now you can compose the next great song while sitting in the waiting room of your doctor’s office or on the toilet. Just be sure to use headphones . . and wash your hands.

“GarageBand on iPad has been a big hit and we think customers will love using it on their iPhone or iPod touch,” Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing Philip Schiller said. “The innovative Multi-Touch interface combined with Smart Instruments makes it easy to create great sounding music, even if you’ve never studied music or played an instrument before.”

GarageBand is available in iTunes for $4.99 to new users or for free to those who already own the app on an iPad. It is supported by the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and the third and fourth-generation iPod touch. Click through for the full press release from Apple.

Confirmation: Next James Bond Film Will Be Called ‘Skyfall’, Filming Begins Monday

That’s right folks, the often delayed and occassionally in trouble next James Bond adventure is now a reality. In fact, it even has a title: Skyfall.

The announcement was made today at a London press conference by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, who confirmed that stars Daniel Craig and Judi Dench will indeed return in the Sam Mendes-directed 23rd James Bond adventure. Also confirmed were actors Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes, who will join the previously announced Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw in the film.

“We’re so delighted to have Sam Mendes direct Skyfall and be working once again with Daniel Craig,” Wilson and Broccoli said in a joint statement. “We’ve a great script, an extraordinary cast and an incredibly talented creative team for this latest James Bond adventure.”

In Skyfall “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.” Mmm, tested loyalties and Bond stopping at nothing to save the world?

‘Crash of the Titans’ Turning Into a Trilogy, This Time With Better Writers

Those who saw French director Louis Leterrier’s remake of the classic film Clash of the Titans were split straight down the middle on those who absolutely loved the film, and those who thought it was total schlock.

Not unlike the response to the original film, this has left a bad taste in the mouths of fans, to the point where talk of a sequel would only anger them. That’s where this bit of news should change some folks’ minds. It seems that the Brothers Warner will be planning two sequels to the film. The good news? Good writers are on the way. From THR.

Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson, who co-wrote Wrath’s screenplay with Steven Knight and also share story credit with Greg Berlanti, have been enlisted to develop and write a treatment for the threequel, which would continue the adventures of Perseus, played by Sam Worthington.

Chris Miller & Phil Lord’s ’21 Jump Street’ Reboot Gets a Trailer

That’s right, this film should be known as being from the mind of Chris Miller and Phil Lord. The team that brought us Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and MTV’s short-lived animated series Clone High.

One could say that the film’s focus points are Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, but if you look at their track record lately, I’d be much more open to see a movie by Lord & Miller than the guys that starred in G.I. Joe and Get Him to the Greek.

The film is obviously a reboot of the classic 80s cop drama starring Johnny Depp and Richard Grieco, about two beat cops that have to go undercover in a local high school to take down the drug lords poisoning our youth.

The red band trailer is here now with tons of swearing and teen endangerment, so fun for the whole family! Check it out after the jump, and catch 21 Jump Street in theaters March 16th.

Web Video Roundup: Doctor Who Sing-a-Long, Donald Glover’s New Single, & The Muppets Take WWE Raw

Season 1 of TBS’s Conan is coming to a close, and with that, this awesome montage of the show’s opening sequences over the past several episodes.

After watching Big Trouble in Little China more times than we care to count, we never realized that Kurt Russel had no idea what was going on for pretty much the entire film. Until now.

What happens when you run out of bullets on the battlefield? You use defibrillators, of course. That’s what we learned in the latest Corridor Digital short.

Your childhood had an aneurism this Monday as The Muppets made a very special appearance on this week’s WWE Raw. This is only one of the episode’s several highlights.

Donald Glover’s rapping alter ego Childish Gambino is back with a brand new lead single for his new album. This one, titled Bonfire, came just in time to get you in the creepy Halloween mood this week.

First ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Trailer Arrives

Presented without much comment is the new trailer for Rockstar Games upcoming Grand Theft Auto V. And yes, it appears the game is set in Los Angeles. Let that speculation end now.

In the trailer we hear the game’s protagonist talking about trying to become a good family man before realizing the futility of that course and switching to the criminal route. We also we see a car being chased by the police (naturally), part of a robbery and other criminals going about their business.

In addition, a Vinewood sign is shown (the GTA name for Hollywood), a helicopter and a jet. Hopefully these will be part of the game and players will be able to fly them. That would be cool.

Check it out after the break. Look for Grand Theft Auto V to arrive early next year.

Michael Fassbender Looks Serious In The First Trailer for the NC-17 ‘Shame’

Much like how Ryan Gosling’s Blue Valentine seemed to be getting tons of heat for getting a controversial NC-17 rating, it looks like Steve McQueen’s Shame is getting the same amount of press. The film, starring X-Men: First Class star Michael Fassbender, is getting quite a lot of eyeballs due to its graphic nature. Here’s a rundown of the film’s premise.

Brandon (Michael Fassbender) is a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment stirring memories of their shared painful past, Brandon’s insular life spirals out of control.

Who wouldn’t want to see Fassbender as a tortured sex addict? Certainly not the members of the MPAA, that’s for sure. The movie is set to be complete Oscar bait for the coming award season, so you’re going to want catch this trailer before it becomes the talk of the water cooler group.

Check it out after the jump, and catch Shame in select theaters on December 2nd.
