TV: Check Out Previews for Some of CBS’ New Fall Shows

the-crazy-ones-Williams-gellar

Even with all the cool announcements comng from Google today and through the rest of the week, we can’t forget it’s also TV upfront time so that means lots of TV announcements too. We’ve already brought you CBS’ new Fall schedule and descriptions of its new shows for 2013.

Now we’ve got previews of most of the new shows for your viewing pleasure. Among the list of new shows is Robin Williams in The Crazy Ones. That title kinda fits, but it is fun to see Williams back on TV in a new series. That might be one to check out.

As for the rest, your guess is probably almost as good as ours. CBS does seem to do pretty well with procedural-type shows so maybe that gives some hope that Intelligence will be good. They also do okay with comedies and that means, as we said before, Robin Williams and Sarah Micheele Gellar might have some luck with their show too.

Check out all the previews after the break. Any interest in any of these new shows?

google-wallet-gmail-1

As far as online payment services go, if you want to send money to someone, you’re pretty much stuck using Paypal.

Not because it’s a great service (ask anyone who’s ever needed support or had to dispute an arbitrary Paypal decision) but because there’s pretty much no other choice. Well, that’s not good enough. We like competition and we think competition is good.

Enter Google. Today at their I/O conference Google announced a new featuring coming to its existing Google Wallet and Gmail services. That feature? Payments.

Put simply, once this feature goes live, you will be able to send and receive money via your Gmail account.

Movies: Vin Diesel Is Back In a New Trailer for ‘Riddick’

vin-diesel-riddick-1

Yes, they made another Riddick movie. And yes, it looks pretty good. Yes, we’re kinda surprised too. And yes, we like Vin Diesel. Sue us.

Anyway, there’s a new trailer and poster for Riddick, the fourth film in the Chronicles of Riddick trilogy. We don’t have a lot to say about the trailer except that it showcases pretty well why this character is still popular enough to warrant a new movie.

In this one “the infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.”

Check out the new trailer and poster after the break. Look for Riddick in theaters on September 6.

Games: Pac-Man Makes His Return

Pac-Man

Wii U owners were pleased to find that the arcade classic Pac-Man found its way to the Wii U shop just about two weeks ago. Not bad to get some excitement about a game getting close to its 33rd birthday. But yesterday, something no one expected happened. A second Pac-Man piece of news in a month popped up with an all new Pac-Man title. Pac-Man would be returning in an all new game. Namco Bandai will be releasing Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures this fall to the XBox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The hungry little sphere that could is coming back to 3D (with a sidescroller for the 3DS, go figure) with some new powers not yet seen before… well that’s not entirely true. From the look of the trailer below, there will be a transformative power set to the game where upon eating various ghosts, Pac-Man acquires certain abilities. Sounds a little bit like Kirby, wouldn’t you say? Well even though we only see one of these in action, there is certainly a Kirby-esque feel to the way the game looks to play.

First Look: ‘Once Upon a Time’ Wonderland Spinoff Coming this Fall to ABC

SOPHIE LOWE

It’s been denied by everyone. It’s been speculated about and rumored. Oncers have been yanked around for months but finally there’s an answer. The Once Upon a Time Alice in Wonderland spinoff is real and we’ve got the trailer and pictures to prove it.

Written by Once creator Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland begins with Alice (Sophie Lowe) recounting her adventure in the strange new land she discovered through the rabbit hole and with the mysterious genie, Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) with whom she in love.

Alice’s doctors and her father think she’s gone insane but before they can give her a treatment to take away all of her memories she’s saved by the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) and the White Rabbit (John Lithgow). They tell her Cyrus, who she thought to be dead, is alive. Together they return to the incredible and impossible Wonderland to seek him and new adventures.

Wonderland also stars Emma Rigby as the Queen of Hearts. Fans of Once will know that Regina’s mother Cora was the Queen of Hearts in that show’s brief visits to Wonderland. How then will Riby’s Queen factor in? Is this a sign that Wonderland and Once won’t necessarily have the same mythology?
