Concept Art and PEZ Dispenser Show Off The Lizard From ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’

One of the hardest villains in Spider-Man’s rouge gallery to visualize on film is going to get his time to shine next summer. After years of teases in the Raimi films, The Lizard will finally be front and center in a movie. So naturally his appearance is going to be very important to sell the character. They have shown off the scaly monster at Comic-Con this year, but not everyone could watch that footage, and only blurry images and video can be found online.

We now have a pretty good look at the character, or more appropriately his design. SpiderMedia has posted concept art that showcase his rather unique appearance. The Lizard looks like a giant, man-size reptile, so from that respect the design does what it is supposed to do. On the other hand, this looks more like a goomba from the Super Mario Bros. movie, so the jury is still out.

Those who might doubt the validity of the concept art can rest assured that officially licensed PEZ dispensers have also been seen. ComicBookMovie has pictures of the dispensers depicting the new Spider-Man and his reptilian foe. It is clear that the mold of the Lizard is more than similar enough to the concept art to give credence to both.

Bryan Singer To Help Bring Fuller’s ‘Munsters’ To NBC

Bryan Singer is determined to relaunch a classic show from his youth. First, he was connected with attempts to bring Star Trek back to television, and more recently he has talked about rebooting Battlestar Galactica as a feature film. Well, third time seems to be the charm as a Singer directed Munsters pilot has been ordered by NBC.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

“[The Munsters] is billed as an imaginative reinvention of the classic comedy series as a visually spectacular one-hour drama.

Singer will executive produce alongside Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies), who also is writing the Universal Television-produced project.

Fuller and NBC first made an attempt to revive the 1960s CBS sitcom last year, with the network ultimately passing. His newer version is said to be an edgier and slightly darker take exploring origins of Herman and Lily Munster (originally played by Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo) and how they arrived at the famed 1313 Mockingbird Lane address.”

Singer does have good experience in the TV world, he also executive produced and directed the pilot of the hit show House. However, it is the other executive producer that inspires the most intrigue from us. Bryan Fuller’s Pushing Daises was an incredible show, packed with larger than life characters and situations. If anyone can turn The Munsters into a “visually spectacular one-hour drama,” odds are Fuller is that man.

Capcom Developing Sour Patch Kids Downloadable Game

First they are sour, then they are sweet. Capcom hopes that a downloadable game staring the little candy dudes ends up more like the latter. World Gone Sour is a new game that will take place in a human sized world, but from the perspective of the little sugary treats.

Game Informer is reporting that Capcom has the game in development.

“Sour Patch is the #1 all sour candy brand in the U.S. but there is so much more to these iconic characters than just their sour exteriors and sweet interiors,” says Sebastian Genesio, marketing director for Sour Patch. “Bringing our ‘lost kids’ to life in video game form will add a new dimension to these lovable snacks. We feel this video game will resonate strongly with our core audience of teens and young adults.”

“Sour Patch has brought its brand to life in a unique experience that only video games can deliver,” said Christian Svensson, senior vice president, planning & strategy, Capcom Entertainment, Inc. “Whether you’re a fan of Sour Patch Kids or fun and engaging gameplay, World Gone Sour has something for all gamers to enjoy.”

It is also being reported that the game will feature the new Method Man song, World Gone Sour (The Lost Kids) and narration by Creed Bratton, who, conveniently, plays Creed on The Office. Sounds like this game will have everything you could possibly want in a game based on candy.

World Gone Sour will be available this winter for 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99 on the PSN or PC.

Michael Fassbender Is The Creepy Guy on the Train in a Red Band Trailer for ‘Shame’

Just when you thought Michael Fassbender couldn’t get any more serious and awesome, the redband trailer for his new NC-17 rated film, Shame, hits the web. In it, Fassbender is staring down a young redhead on a train, letting his mind do the wandering, and things come across a bit creepy.

The film was just today nominated for a Spirit Award in the Best Foreign Film category, and has made tons of news in terms of how raunchy the film is (much like any NC-17 film gets). Here’s the premise of the film:

Brandon (Fassbender) is a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment stirring memories of their shared painful past, Brandon’s insular life spirals out of control.

For the ladies, you’ll get tons of Fassbender in many different positions, and for the dudes, you’ll get Fassbender putting plenty of young ladies in many different positions. Take a look at the new trailer after the jump and catch the film in select theaters this weekend.

The fun folks over at Corridor Digital finally made a follow-up to their classic Graphic Violence video from a year ago with a new one, Brush with Death.

Speaking of all things internet and fun, Freddie Wong produced a new video over the Thanksgiving break, and those Dragonball Z fans have been clamoring for this one for quite some time.

The holidays are upon us, so why wouldn’t someone cut a mash-up video between Star Wars and How the Grinch Stole Christmas? The only difference is that Vader’s heart didn’t grow 3 sizes…he took his mask off and died.

Game Review: ‘Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3’ for PS3

Capcom are the kings of frenetic, carpel-tunnel inducing fighting games. They are also the kings of selling you those games multiple times. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a super-sized revision of one of the best fighting games of the last few years. The original Marvel vs Capcom 3 came out earlier this year, but that proximity doesn’t do anything to lessen the impact of its brand new counterpart.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 brings a dozen new characters to the fun, as well as opening up several new levels to fight on and addresses a whole mess of balancing issues. The whole package is available for the lower price of forty bucks, and offers the most complete version of the game possible.

This sort of re-release might seem odd in the age of the DLC, but the additions to the game and the refinement of its engine are so robust that they needed to send the game back out as a new disc. Thankfully, Capcom had mercy on us by giving the game a budget rate, but the lowered retail price is only one of the game’s many high points. All twelve of the new characters offer some sort of exciting game play gimmick or interesting in-game look, with Rocket Raccoon being one of the most oddball and Hawkeye providing the most fun.

New Stills and Poster for Disney’s ‘John Carter’ Arrive

Over the next five months, two of the best American animation directors are making the leap to live-action adventure films. Brad Bird has the much anticipated Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol coming this Christmas and Andrew Stanton brings John Carter to life next March. Both directors have previously been making movies with PIXAR, creating such classics as The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo and Wall-E.

In anticipation of a soon to be released full trailer for next spring’s epic, Disney has released a new poster and a set of stills for John Carter. The pictures showcase some of the more interesting elements of the upcoming movie, including the four-armed Tars Tarkas, played by Willem Defoe, and the adorable Woola who might just steal this movie. The other stills give us clear glimpses of some of the production design of the movie, and hints to its scope.

The poster, on the other hand, is a really classy minimalist design that really sells the Martian setting. This is a striking design that should look sharp in movie theater hallways this holiday season.

Retro is all the rage these days. Whether it’s music, clothes, or technology, the times, they aren’t a-changin’ as we grow more nostalgic about the days of yore. That’s why it’s even cooler to see classic TV tropes make their way onto the newest form of entertainment and storytelling: web series.

This is where DANGER 5 comes in. The brand new web miniseries is everything we loved (and laughed about) from shows like The Avengers, Mission: Impossible, Thunderbirds are GO! and several other classically campy series from the 60’s. Here’s a brief synopsis.

Set in a bizarre, 1960’s inspired version of World War II, action comedy series DANGER 5 follows a team of five spies on a mission to kill Adlolf Hitler.
