First Trailer for ‘All-Star Superman’ Hits With A Bang

So today may have been a bit of a Superman-heavy news day, but for good reason. Some Smallville news, some DCU news, and now some even bigger news about the man in red and blue. Coming off the heals of Warner Premiere’s newest direct-to-dvd film, Superman & Batman: Apocalypse comes the very first trailer for All-Star Superman.

Based on the books by Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly about an alternate timeline where Superman is slowly dying, this animated feature looks to be one of the most grown-up stories the studio has told, even with Batman: Red Hood being as dark as it was. DC Animated regular Dwayne McDuffie is penning the script.

If the story and art isn’t enough to get you pumped, the cast should most certainly do it’s job. James Denton of Desperate Housewives is lending his voice for the Man of Steel, while Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks is stepping in as Lois Lane and even Empire Records manager Anthony LaPaglia joins in as the villainous Lex Luthor.

The film is set for a mid-Spring release of 2011, and MTV had the very first look at the trailer this morning. Now, you can check out the full trailer after the jump, and sound off on what you think!

DC’s Big Move Raises Hope For Future Movie Franchises

Massive changes are in store for DC Entertainment, as the company recently announced that it plans to relocate the multimedia side of the company from it’s current location in New York City to Burbank, California. The print side of the company is planning on remaining in New York.

This move has been rumored for months so the move comes as little surprise. Since forming a partnership with Warner Brothers a little over a year ago, the move to cement the relationship was a long time in the making,

According to the press release found on DC’s website,“This strategic business realignment allows us to fully integrate and expand the DC brand in feature films as well as across multiple distribution platforms of Warner Bros. and Time Warner…We are creating a seamless, cohesive unit that will bring even more great characters and content to consumers everywhere.”

Exclusive: Glenn Howerton On Taking The Gang Outside Philly In ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’

It’s been a Sunny fest all week long. Tuesday, we spoke with the now very pregnant Kaitlin Olson on working her new bundle of joy into the show. Yesterday, Charlie Day discussed how the gang is planning to kick him out this season, and now we come to Glenn Howerton, one of the ringleaders of It’s Always Sunny, to give us some more insight on this season.

Glenn, along with Charlie and Rob McElhenney (Mac) created the show back in 2005 and have only grown bigger and more raunchy since it’s launch. In later seasons, Danny DeVito joined the cast as Glenn and Kaitlin’s on-screen father, who has gone through his own downward spiral since his first appearance on the show.

Now, in it’s sixth season on FX, Sunny is being taken to new and untraveled territories, as the gang finally goes outside of the greater Philadelphia area this season, to “somewhere in Jersey.”

We got to speak with Glenn about the episode, among other things to expect from the coming episodes. Check out the interview after the jump, and catch a new It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia every Thursday night on FX.

Warner Bros Drops New ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ Part 1 Trailer

It’s been a long, dry summer with no Harry Potter trailers to carry us fans through until we can watch this fall’s big finale of the long-running franchise. With the November 2010 release of part one of the long-awaited conclusion approaching rapidly, it was exciting news indeed to see that Warner Bros has released a brand-new Harry Potter trailer. Featuring plenty of footage from part 1 of the ‘Deathly Hallows,’ the trailer really sets the stage for Harry’s big conclusion.

As you may know, the final installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has been broken up into two parts for movie-going audiences. Part 1 will premiere November 19th and Part II will open next year on July 15, 2011. Both parts are directed by David Yates, the same directer of Order of the Phoenix and the Half Blood Prince.

Part 1 continues the saga of Harry, Ron and Hermione  as they pursue what seems like an inevitable and ultimate show-down with Voldemort. The Death Eaters vigorously search for Harry with orders to bring him back to Voldemort alive.

Without the protection of Professor Dumbledore or any of Hogwart’s professors, the trio must rely on each other more than ever as they search for the Horcruxes, Voldemort’s secret devices that maintain his immortality. As the three old chums search for clues, Harry uncovers an old and almost forgotten tale–the legend of the Deathly Hallows.

Part 1 of Deathly Hallows seeks to deal, once and for all, with Harry and his nemesis and their intertwining fates.

Teri Hatcher To Play Lois Lane’s Mom On ‘Smallville

As if the announcement that Tom Welling will be donning the Superman suit by the end of this season wasn’t enough to keep you interested, the creative minds behind the CW’s Smallville have just pulled another cameo rabbit out of the hat as they announced Teri Hatcher will make an appearance as the mom of this universe’s Lois Lane.

Hatcher, who’s known to many in the nerdverse as playing the titular Lois in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman for nearly 5 years alongside Dean Caine, will be stepping in to play the estranged mother of Erica Durance’s Lois. For those already planning on rebutting with some continuity issues, EW has some answers.

I know what you’re thinking: But Lois’ mom, Ella, is dead! Follow along now…

In episode 8, titled “Abandoned,” Lois discovers old videotapes of her mother. I think you can figure the rest out for yourself. Am I right?

Hard to believe Hatcher is coming along willingly, knowing her reputation as being slightly more than difficult to work with (just see Tomorrow Never Dies). This brings the Lois Lane lineage full circle on this show, including Margaret Kidder and now Hatcher.

What else could they possibly squeeze into the last 25 episodes of the series? We’ll be eager to find out.

Google Updates Gmail Android App

Good news for those of you currently using something other than an iPhone and in particular users of Android powered devices. Google has, in their infinite benevolence, updated the Gmail application for Android and has given it some new features and fixed a few bugs.

Some of these new and improved goodies include message actions sticking to the top of the screen while scrolling, view previous messages more easily like with the desktop client, performance boost for most features and limited support for Priority Inbox. Although, as someone who really didn’t take to Priority Inbox when it came to the desktop Gmail app, I’m not that excited about that particular part of the update.

Still, it’s nice to see that Google seems to be on top of it when it comes to improving the user experience on Android powered devices. With the recent (or pending for some of you) update to Android 2.2 (aka Froyo), Google seems to be on a path of improvement for its software. As an Android smartphone user, I couldn’t be happier about it.

The update is in the Android Market and available for all those running Android 2.2.

How the ‘Mad Men’ Writers Room Really Works

As we do sometimes here at The Flickcast, we’ve got a video for you today that entertained and enthralled us enough to click a few buttons, type some text and share it with you. No, we’re not lazy,we just like to bring the best quality we can and don’t like to waste our time or your time.

So, that brings us to this video made by YouTube user TVAuteur. In it watch as an animated character of Mad Men creator Matt Weiner conducts a job interview with a perspective employee. The video, to say the least, is pretty damn funny but also has a touch of anger — which we love. I just hope the guy who made it doesn’t end up getting sued.

Of course, the real Mad Men airs on AMC Sunday nights. This video you can watch any time you want. In fact, how about right now after the jump?
