Harrison Ford Returns To Comedy in the New Trailer for ‘Morning Glory’

Any film geek, be they fans of sci-fi or adventure, has fallen victim to the charm of Harrison Ford at one point or another. Whether it was for Han Solo, Rick Deckard or Indiana Jones, we’ve all rooted for Ford as the main character for years. As of late, his roles have been simplified to running around demanding his family back, or ruining our childhood with a rehashed sequel. Finally, Ford is trying on a new old hat: playing the comic relief.

The first trailer for Morning Glory hit this week, which stars the always lovely Rachel McAdams as a morning TV show producer who needs to help boost her career by keeping the oil and water of Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton’s characters together and happy every morning.

The film has got geek cred all over it, from Sherlock Holmes‘ McAdams, to Ford, to Watchmen’s Patrick Wilson and Jeff Goldblum. The film is even produced by J.J. Abram’s Bad Robot production company, and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who will also be writing a new Abrams project in 2012.

Check out the first trailer for Morning Glory after the jump, and keep an eye out when the film hits theaters on November 12th.

Retail Giant Wal-Mart Drops 16GB iPhone Price to $97

Beginning today, retail juggernaut Wal-Mart is slashing the price of Apple’s 16GB 3GS iPhone to just $97 with a standard two-year contract. The new lower price will save consumers just over $100 off the normal $199 price-point.

Apple is widely expected to launch a brand-new iPhone model next month, and this new lower price-point could indicate they are working with retailers to clear out any remaining inventory of the soon-to-be-outdated model. Interestingly, other retailers have not yet followed suit. The 16GB 3GS is still priced for $199 on Apple’s Web site and that of its partners, including electronics retailer Best Buy.

Apple has reportedly sold 8.3 million iPhones during last quarter, more than twice the amount sold during the same period in 2009. A recent furor erupted when an Apple engineer reportedly left Apple’s newest iPhone model in a local bar near the company’s Silicon Valley headquarters. Popular gadget site, Gizmodo managed to acquire the iPhone, running dozens of pictures and performing a full tear-down and review of the upcoming model’s features.

According to Gizmodo’s extensive coverage on the subject, some of the new iPhone features may include a front-facing video chat camera, improved regular back-camera with a larger lens and flash, a micro-SIM instead of standard SIM, an improved display that seems to run at 960×640 resolution,  a secondary mic for noise cancellation, along with numerous other minor refinements and enhancements.

Wal-Mart is selling both white and black 16GB models and they are only available for sale in-store, not online.

Get a Sneak Peak at ABC’s ‘No Ordinary Family’

Now that this season of primetime TV is coming to a close, we have a few bright spots on the horizon. We’ve been bringing you some of the newest Fall schedules, along with a few previews of upcoming shows we think look cool. Keeping up with that theme we bring you a sneak peak at ABC’s new superhero comedy No Ordinary Family.

From a distance, the story plays out like a live-action version of The Incredibles, but upon closer inspection it actually has a bit more depth. Michael Chiklis plays Jim Powell, a regular husband and father who, alongside his wife and two children, are in an accident that give each of them unique powers. His wife, Stephanie (played by Dexter’s Julie Benz) develops super speed, while his children develop telepathy and other extraordinary mind powers. Jim, however, leads the family with the gift of invulnerability and super strength.

There are some obvious and great connections to former Chiklis projects in the pilot, such as his work as Ben Grimm/The Thing in Fantastic Four, and the fact that he plays a cop again, much like The Shield or The Commish.

The pilot has the potential to be exactly what NBC’s Heroes wasn’t for a lot of fans, and could be a fun, quirky family comedy with a comic book backdrop. Check out the trailer after the jump and be sure to keep an eye (and a DVR) out for No Ordinary Family this Fall on ABC.

Motorola Droid Shadow Found In A Gym

If you were carrying around an unreleased, brand-new version of an incredibly popular cell phone, wouldn’t you be a little more careful with it? That’s the question everyone was asking when Apple’s next version of the iPhone was found abandoned in a bar last month. Today, Gizmodo reports a similar scenario where the newest version of Motorola’s Android device, the Motorola Droid Shadow, was found and photographed at a Verizon corporate gym.

Before the phone was remotely locked, the Verizon employee who discovered the phone uncovered a text stating that the phone was most definitely “unreleased”, so we know this phone is a legit find. Exclusive to Verizon Wireless, the Motorola Droid Shadow will feature an 8 MP camera capable of shooting at 720p video, a 4.3 inch screen, and is expected to run Android’s newest software, Android Froyo.

The phone will also feature 16 GB of internal storage, a Snapdragon processor, and an HDMI out port, all confirmed by the Verizon employee who found the phone. The Motorola Droid Shadow will be out sometime in June or July.

If you’re anxious to get your hands on the Shadow, keep your eyes peeled because someone else might just casually leave one around for you to find. Or, you could always pick up HTC’s Droid Incredible or the original Motorola Droid, two awesome devices exclusive to the Verizon network.

‘Mass Effect’ Heading to the Big Screen

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that a game like EA’s Mass Effect will be coming to the big screen. After all, the game is hugely successful and has spawned a sequel that has taken the gaming world by storm.

And now, according to reports, Legendary Pictures has picked up rights to Mass Effect and will develop it into a potential franchise. I Am Legend and Thor writer Mark Protosevich is currently in negotiations to handle adapting the game for the big screen.

Just in case you don’t play video games or haven’t, for some reason, heard of Mass Effect, the game debuted in 2008 and is a sci-fi action game set in the year 2183, focusing on a human soldier and his starship, the SSV Normandy. It features alien races, combat and technology which spans the galaxy offering a great deal of diverse situations and role play. In short, its a pretty darn fun game and would probably make a great movie.

Seeing as how this film is in the early stages and these kinds of movies tend to take a long time to make it to the screen, especially if you want to do it right, expect to see us bringing you more info on Mass Effect the movie over the next year at least. Until then, go back and play the game again and imagine what could be.

To help you, take a look at the Mass Effect 2 trailer after the jump.

Brand New Trailer for ‘True Blood’ Season 3 Hits the ‘Net

It’s been many longs months without being able to see the further adventures of our favorite show about vampires, voodoo and crazy accents. Fortunately, HBO’s hit series True Blood is about to return to the small screen and I, for one, couldn’t be happier about it.

During the time leading up to the season premiere, we’ve had some stuff to share with you about the new season including news on the minisodes of the series and a trailer. Now, we’ve got a new trailer to bring you today and this one proves to be even better than the last. This time around we get more details on the fates and new predicaments of our favorite residents of Bon Temps, LA.

Judging from this new trailer, things are going to be getting even more serious, and more sexy, once the new season kicks off. And I thought things were pretty serious and sexy last season.

Don’t worry, you’ll only have to wait until June 13th for new episodes. Until then, check out the brand new trailer after the jump.

Marvel’s Heroic Age Avengers & Online Dating: The Perfect Match?

Marvel and Brian Bendis have finally announced the new line-up for the new Avengers book. No, I’m not talking about the new New Avengers book, but the latest, newest, Avengers…grrr arg, you know what I mean. In a year celebrating the “Women of Marvel,” the promo cover is notably lacking a femme fatale. Perhaps, Marvel thinks the mere sight of 5 hunky heroes is enough to keep a woman’s attention. But, Marvel you can not fool me.

These men are totally skrully. On paper, they’re the perfect man- what with their gleaming tights and super-powery goodness, but delve just a month or two into their past and they‘re a hot mess. Talk about baggage, it would take the whole of Stark, errr Avengers Tower to hold the amount of baggage these 5 guys carry.

I feel bad for any lady thrown into the mix and forced to put up with them on a daily basis. Dating one of them, however, would take considerably less effort as any time they have free is minimal. This is actually a good thing- all the fun without the lasers, gamma rays, and missiles firing at you. So, below I’ve lifted snippets from their potential online dating profiles and given a behind-the-masks reality assessment for your viewing pleasure. Go ahead and wink, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
