A few months ago, we reported that Warner Bros. Home Video put together a new initiative where consumers could send in certain HD DVD’s and get a shiny new Blu-Ray copy in the mail. The service only cost about $5 per trade, which was a bonus considering the price of Blu-Ray discs at the time.
Well, it looks like that plan worked so well that the studio is doing it again, this time with your standard DVD collection in The DVD2Blu project. With Black Friday and the holiday season just around the corner, it is projected that Blu-Ray players and discs will jump in sales from now until the end of the year. This, of course, would render your regular DVD collection obsolete.
Though it was only $5 for the Red2Blu service, it looks like this time the price is now $7.95, which is still a huge difference in going out and spending $30-$40 on a new Blu Ray collection. The offered discs on the site is pretty extensive, considering that it is only through Warner’s Home Video releases.
Check out the DVD2Blu site, see how you an upgrade your DVD collection, and get ready for the HD Quality revolution!
