Another New ‘Transformers 2’ Clip Arrives

transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-josh-duhamelHappy Monday to all and its time for another trip to Michael Bay’s world where robots fight it out for domination of our planet and the good robots have the help of a few extremely attractive humans like Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel. In this latest clip, showing exclusively over at AOL’s Moviephone site, we get to see Duhamel’s character in action with some of his soldier buddies as they attempt to engage some Decipticons in a little firefight.

As usually happens in movies like this, things don’t go exactly as planned and our human heroes get way more than they bargained for and end up fighting for their lives. Plus, a lot of stuff blows up and there’s a bit of running, yelling and a lot of shooting. Still, even though these clips are all starting to look a bit the same, that doesn’t mean the movie doesn’t look cool.

In fact, the more I see the more I want to see. Guess that’s the desired effect — and in my case, its working. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters July 24th.

Check out the video, as usual, after the break.

A Little More of BSG’s ‘The Plan’

six-and-cylonsWhile we sincerely appreciate our pals at Galactica Sitrep for taking the time to patiently wait with their video camera pointed at the tv screen to catch another clip of The Plan, the upcoming tv movie telling BSG’s story from the Cylon side, we’re glad Sci-Fi has seen fit to release the clip so we can all watch it in better quality. Still, we love your dedication guys, don’t ever change.

This new clip showcases the acting of Dean Stockwell as Cavil as he talks to Ellen Tigh during the time when Cylons were attacking the fleet every “33 minutes” in the original series season one episode. Its a good clip and makes me want to see the entire movie even more. Its a shame we have to wait until November.

How about it Sci-Fi, want to send over a screener copy like right frakkin now? Be your best friend.

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan airs on Sci-Fi Channel in November. Check out the clip after the break.

Two New ‘Halloween 2’ TV Spots Hit the ‘Net

halloween-2-new-teaserLast week on The Flickcast, our own Chris Ullrich chose Rob Zombie’s Halloween reboot as his pick of the week. He was impressed with the film and found it to be much better than he expected. Obviously, he’s a fan.

Well, he’s in luck then, as are the rest of you who are fans of Rob Zombie and Halloween, because Zombie is hard at work on a sequel, currently entitled Halloween 2. And now, courtesy of the folks over at Club Scout and a rather shaky person with a camcorder aimed at their tv screen, we’ve got two new video clips of Halloween 2 tv spots to share with you.

These two video clips show Zombie’s vision at work bringing new dimensions to the horror that is Michael Myers. Expect more of the same: Michael Myers chasing people, killing people, people trying to kill him and various other scenes of that nature. Plus, Myers appears to roll over a car by himself and sent it down an embankment. Great stuff.

Sadly, because of how they were taken, the videos are not of great quality. But still, I’m sure you get the idea. Halloween 2 hits theaters August 28th.

Check out the videos after the Jump.

The Real ‘Captain America’ Is Reborn

Warning! This post contains spoilers.

captain-america_reborn_01_quesadavariantIn an unprecedented event, many comic book retailers across the country received and released Captain America #600 today, two days before the regular release day. It was said that this issue will “change everything” and have a huge impact on the rest of the comic book world. Why? Because according to Marvel comics Editor in Chief Joe Quesada (who will also be doing a special variant cover for issue #1 of the comic), Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) is returning from the grave.

“We’ve been patiently planning for this moment for 21 years. Captain America will return next month in a five-comic book series, “Captain America Reborn.”

For those who aren’t aware, Steve Rogers was gunned down in a highly publicized March 2007 issue, which was quite a bold move at the time, killing off a main character and allegedly having him “stay dead”. From there, Cap’s former sidekick, Bucky Barnes, took the mantle of Captain America and continued fighting for justice.

Many fans are outraged, stating that this is another “Superman tease” and how nobody in the comic industry has the ability to keep a character dead. Is this true? Will this have the same outcome as another dead character over at DC? We’ll all find out soon. But until then, you can check out the spiffy Captain America Reborn trailer from the new Marvel minisite, and a larger Quesada cover variant, after the jump.

Amazon Drops Price of ‘Ghostbusters: The Video Game’

This Tuesday marks a big day for fans all over the world who’ve ever wanted to bust ghosts. Why? Because the Ghostbusters are making their move from the big screen to video game consoles. Ghostbusters: The Videogame features original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson together for the first time since 1989’s Ghosbusters 2— although they’re all supposedly signed on to continue the franchise in a third film.

Reviews of the game are already rolling in with nothing but high praise. IGN, for example,  gave the PS3/XBox 360 version of the game an 8 out of 10 on IGN.com calling it a “hell of a ride.” While this is great news for all, fans who pick up Amazon.com’s exclusive Slimer Edition of Ghostbusters: The Video Game are in for some disappointing news. The box set was going to contain Minimate figurines of Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Egon Spengler, Louis Tully, and Dana Barrett, but Amazon regretfully reported that they would not be included.

This brought the price of the set from $129.99 to $109.99, even for those who pre-ordered before the Minimate’s exclusion. It looks like they’ll be sold separately and come out a few days before the game. Amazon’s Slimier Edition does, however, include a light up “Ecto 1” keychain (complete with siren sounds), a set of Gamer Graffix console skins, and an exclusive Slimer bust created by originial movie sculptor, Steve Johnson.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game hits store shelves tomorrow and is available for for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and PC.

New Trailer for ‘The Time Travelers Wife’

mcadams-bana-time-travelers-wifeOver at one of our favorite sites, Trailer Addict, they’ve got the new trailer for the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of The Time Travelers Wife. The film, which stars Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, is based on the best selling novel by Audrey Niffenegger. The film was written by Bruce Joel Rubin and directed by Robert Schwentke.

In case you’re not familier with the story, it concerns a man (Bana) with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably. It’s also about his wife (McAdams), an artist who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences. Through these experiences, this sci-fi romance examines issues of love, loss, and free will.

Of course, I’ve heard of the novel but have never read it. It didn’t seem like my kind of story. Seeing this trailer, however, makes me interested in the story and these characters. Maybe its time to give the novel a read? Or, I guess I could just wait for the movie.

The Time Travelers Wife opens later this year. Check out the full trailer after the break.

Wii Price Drop Coming Soon-ish?

wii-sports-resortAccording to our pals over at Joystiq, it looks like your dream of owning a Nintendo Wii might be coming that much closer to reality in the near future. That is, if the things that’s been holding you back has been the Wii’s price. Over at the site they quote industry pundit Michael Pachter who notes that “”Wii supply has finally exceeded demand,” and that he “expect[s] Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii before [the] holiday.”

If true, this would be the first price drop since the Wii’s initial release in late 2006. Of course, as the site points out (and rightly so) Nintendo could just bundle the system with more software and not lower the price in an effort to stimulate sales. In fact, it was a bundle of the Wii and Wii Sports that made me get one in the first place so I’m not sure lowering the price of the Wii is really necessary at all.

In fact, if Nintendo were to offer a bundle of Wii Sports Resort and another game like Mario Kart, which would be a great, fun combo, I bet that would get people buying again. I guess we’ll find out later this year.
