New ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ Trailer Gives Us the First Look at the ‘Big Bad’

Let’s just say right now Call of Duty: Black Ops II is going to be a huge hit. It’s inevitable. However, that hasn’t stopped Activision from rolling out all sorts of promotional material just to make sure anyone not aware and ready to buy the game knows about it and gets as excited as the rest of us.

There’s a new trailer out for the game today. In it we get the first glimpse of Raul Menendez, who is, according to game producer Treyarch “the most insidious villain in Call of Duty history.”

Sounds pretty good to us. As we said before: Can’t. Wait.

Check out the new trailer after the break. Look for Call of Duty: Black Ops II to hit stores in time for Christmas.

Check Out a Behind the Scenes Look at ‘Spartacus: War of the Damned’

It has been a long, and let’s face it, bloody road for Spartacus but the end is near. The final installment of the Starz original series about the gladiator turned freedom fighter and his band of bulky buddies will premiere this January. By the looks of the behind-the-scenes trailer, things will end pretty much the way they started: with blood, guts, and shirtless men.

Returning to the series once again are Liam McIntyre (Spartacus), Manu Bennett (Crixus), Dustin Clare (Gannicus), Dan Feuerriegel (Agron), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Naevia) and Ellen Hollman (Saxa). There are some new faces too with Todd Lasance as Gaius Julius Caesar,  Simon Merrells as (Marcus Crassus and Anna Hutchison as Laeta.

Spartacus: War of the Damned picks up after the defeat of the Roman commander Gaius Caludius Glaber. With several major victories against Rome under his belt, Spartacus is gaining more support for the rebels but more attention from the Romans. Will they find a way to crush the rising hero? Tune in to Starz in January 2013 to find out.

HBO Sets Premiere Dates for ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘Treme’

Even though Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom seems, at least after the first three episodes, to be not quite what we hoped for, HBO is still a great network to find high quality programming. Case in point is two of their returning shows: Boardwalk Empire and Treme.

Fans of those two shows can be happy today as the network has announced return dates for both of them. The third season of Boardwalk Empire will kick off Sunday, September 16 at 9 PM and will have a 12 episode run.

Treme is set to debut on Sunday, September 23 at 10 PM. It will run for 10 episodes.

Looking forward to both these shows. Now if we could just get some more Game of Thrones soon.

Windows 8 Will Launch In October

If you’re tired of using that old version of Windows like XP or Windows 7, you’re in luck because Microsoft announced on Monday that its next-generation Windows 8 operating system will launch this October. The company confirmed during an event on Monday that the new OS is on track to be released to developers in August with a final release to eager consumers in October.

In addition, Microsoft will also release new devices, including the Surface, to coincide with the OS’ release. The company also promised that users who purchase Windows 7 PCs before the release of the new OS will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro following its release for just $14.99.

Darn nice of them, don’t you think?

Capcom Reveals the ‘Marvel vs. Capcom Origins’ Announcement Trailer

When it was rereleased on XBox Live Arcade three years ago, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was the hottest title for fighting game fans, even nine years after its release. What came next was the most hyped fighting game in recent memory with Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It’s no surprise that Capcom would take the popularity of the franchise as well as the recent publicity of Marvel because of the success of the Avengers and release two of the games that started it all.

Coming in September of this year to both the PlayStation Network and XBox Live Arcade is Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, a two for one deal with both Marvel Super Heroes and the first Marvel vs. Capcom. Before the X-Men crossed paths against Street Fighter, Marvel pitted its own heroes and villains against each other in Marvel Super Heroes. After the crossover success of X-Men vs. Street Fighter though, Marvel picked its heaviest hitters and brought them against Capcom’s all-star lineup in Marvel vs. Capcom.
