Check Out The Very First Gameplay Footage from ‘Mega Man Universe’

To say the first trailer for Mega Man Universe was a little confusing and vague would be an understatement.  Luckily after more than a month of silence, Capcom has finally released the first gameplay footage of the title which, now looking back, makes a lot more sense. Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man explains in the video below that players will get the chance to experience a Mega Man game using various incarnations and art styles for the character, as well as some Street Fighter characters as well.

Below, you will see Mega Man, Bad Box Art Mega Man and Rockman all in action through this 3D modeled 2D sidescroller. There is also a brief glimpse of Ryu in the character loading screen to check out as well. From the looks of things, Mega Man will be sticking to its sidescrolling routes in Mega Man Universe. With that, expect incredibly challenging levels to fight through and an ever changing powerset depending on the villains Mega Man will be squaring off against.

Keiji also mentions that more characters will be added in the future to the title so it is possible that skins resembling Mega Man Battle Network, Mega Man X and other versions from his 20 year history may find their way into the title as well.

Take a peek at the trailer after the jump and make sure to let us know what you think.

Watch A New Preview Clip From ‘Let Me In’

While I’m not always a fan of Hollywood’s penchant for remaking excellent foreign films almost as soon as said films have been released, I have to say I’m pretty interested in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film Let Me In. Sure, it’s an Americanized version of a film that was only released in 2008, but judging from the trailer I’ve seen and this brand new scene from the film we’ve got for you today, it looks pretty damn good and quite scary.

In case you’re not familiar with either this new film or the original Swedish version, Let Me In concerns Abby (Chloe Moretz), a mysterious 12-year old girl, who moves next door to Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Owen is a social outcast who is viciously bullied at school and because of this he forms a bond with his new neighbor.

As time passes Owen can’t help noticing that Abby is like no one he has ever met before. As a string of grisly murders occur in the town, Owen has to confront the reality that this seemingly innocent girl is really a savage vampire.

Check out the new clip from the film after the jump. Let Me In arrives in theaters on October 1st.

Check Out A Brand New Clip From The Upcoming Season of ‘Glee’

Sort of. Actually, it’s a clip from a new episode which has been fashioned into a commercial for American Express’s Members Project campaign in which it promotes book drives and not being mean. At least that’s what we got from the commercial.

What we do get, however, is some new footage of some of our favorite Glee cast members like Artie (Kevin McHale),  Kurt (Chris Colfer), Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz), Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison), and of course, Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch).

This season promises to have some great moments, such as a Britney Spears cameo, songs from Rocky Horror Picture Show and much more. Join the whole gang as Glee returns on September 21st.

Box Office: ‘The American’ Takes The Long Weekend

George Clooney still has it, at least for this weekend.  His latest film The American made an estimated $13M over the weekend, which was good enough for a first place finish.

Labor Day weekend is typically very slow, so believe it or not, that is a healthy box office total. The real shocker is how audiences responded to the film. Cinemascore is a tracking system used to tally audience response to a film.  Exit polls are used as indicators of a film’s longevity at the box office. The American earned a shocking D- grade, meaning audiences really hated it.  It garnered an F from women. (You can read our positive take on the film here.)

Of course, mis marketing the film as an action movie no doubt led to lots of false expectations.  It’s a good film but a tough sell. It is a deliberately paced pot-boiler character study.  Those looking for a jolting action flick probably found themselves snoozing in no time.

Holdover Takers landed the number two spot with $11.5M.   Machete was hot on its heels with an estimated $11.3M.  Considering how graphically violent the movie was, this is a pretty good take, plus its reported budget was only $20M, so it should easily earn back its budget.

War Movie Mondays: ‘The Devil’s Brigade’

The Devil’s Brigade (1968) is the story of the military unit known as the 1st Special Service Force, a unit comprised of American and Canadian commandos which fought throughout Europe and the Aleutian islands during World War II. Director Andrew V. McLaglen brings this story to the big screen about the men known to their enemies as “The Black Devils”, a unit which suffered tremendous casualties in just only two short years of bloody combat (1942-44).

William Holden (Col. Robert Frederick), Cliff Robertson (Maj. Alan Crown), Vince Edwards (Maj. Cliff Bricker), Andrew Prine (Pvt. Theodore Ransom), Claude Atkins (Pvt. Rockwell “Rocky” Rockman), Jack Watson (Cpl. Wilfred Peacock), Richard Jaeckel (Pvt. Omar Greco), Richard Dawson (Pvt. Hugh MacDonald), Carroll O’ Connor (Maj. Gen. Maxwell Hunter), Michael Rennie (Lt. Gen. Mark W. Clark), and Dana Andrews (Brig. Gen. Walter Naylor) make up the cast of American misfits and their clean-cut Canadian counterparts.

Col. Frederick (Holden) is chosen as the commanding officer of this unit which was created by Lord Louis Mountbatten as an American/Canadian unit which was to conduct secret commando operations against the Germans in occupied Norway. Having little combat experience and this being his first command, Frederick is concerned with such a bold plan which fails to mention how such a force can be extracted from occupied Norway once the mission is completed.

First Trailer for ‘Repeaters’ Makes Us Miss Bill Murray

Picture, if you will, a film that has the same premise of Bill Murray’s 1993 film Groundhog Day, replaces the talent with a cast that looks like they came from the set of Twilight: Eclipse, and gives it a lame, on-the-nose title that most infants would scoff at. Enter The Repeaters.

From the screenwriter that brought us Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie, comes this new film about 3 twentysomethings who find themselves living the same day over and over again. They repeat the same day. They are “Repeaters”. Get it?

One thing that could end up interesting is the one aspect of Groundhog that we all wish was flourished a bit more than a 10 minute montage, which is “what if they lived like gods with absolutely no recourse for their actions?” Hopefully, the film will surprise us all and play into the same fan frenzy that Groundhog did 17 years ago.

Check out the first trailer for Repeaters, starring Dustin Milligan, Amanda Crew, and Richard de Klerk, after the jump and catch the film in theaters mid-January.
