• Here’s some of the coolest looking custom consoles we’ve never seen. Jealous? Hell yes.

• Apparently, girls were pissed at the director of The Human Centipede during casting when they read the script. Are we surprised? No. Have you seen the movie?

• Quentin Tarantino will get his very own Friar’s Club Roast. It’s certainly a better idea than Flava Flav or Hasselhoff. Although, that Hoff one was pretty damn funny.

Check Out New Previews for Tonight’s ‘Eureka’ and ‘Haven’

We’ve already brought you a ton of previews for many of NBC’s new Fall shows. Now, as we usually do on Fridays, we’ve got previews for tonight’s all-new episodes of Eureka and Haven to share with you and help get you psyched for these great shows.

First up is Eureka and an episode entitled “The Ex Files.” In this episode, people from the past come back to haunt the lives of Carter and the gang. That’s the thing about the past, you usually want to forget most of it — especially the bad stuff.

Next up is a Haven episode entitled “Ain’t No Sunshine.” This episode is a scary ghost story that comes true when a dark spirit begins claiming lives in a Haven clinic. Ghost? Hospitals? Yeah, I’m scared.

Check out clips for both shows after the break. Eureka airs tonight at 9/8C followed by Haven at 10/9C only on Syfy.

Make And Receive Calls From Your Browser With Google Voice Gmail Integration

If you’ve been following the evolution of Google’s Voice product, you had to know something big was coming. Originally launched in March of 2009, Google Voice was initially offered on an invite-basis only, yet for a free service, invitees were treated to some pretty amazing features.

First on the list was the ability to obtain a free local number to associate with your Google Voice account. Doing so allowed users granular control of how to handle incoming calls. Users could specify routing instructions for specific incoming numbers, establish rules on what numbers to ring when calls came in, powerful features like text transcription of voice mails that could be delivered via SMS or email, and that’s just a few examples.

Recently, in June of this year, Google opened the service up, making it available to anyone in the USA with a Google account. Consequently, some users have been unable to secure local numbers within their own area codes as a flood of new user sign-ups inevitably occurred. As of a few days ago, Google Gmail users began noticing an interesting new feature in their Gmail sidebar.

Mixed into the “chat” area is an innocuous “call phone” option that for most people, probably would have gone unnoticed. Click it though, and you’d see a call interface with number-pad appear, prompting you to call someone.

There is a browser plug-in that you will need to install, however it’s fairly quick and painless. After restarting your browser, you can begin making calls directly from within your browser; definitely an improvement over Skype, which requires a separate app window to initiate. In my testing, the Google Voice calls were clear and sharp, comparable to Skype and the VOIP services offered by AT&T or Verizon.

Indie Review: ‘Get Low’

As writing students learn in Fiction 101, Rule #1 (well, maybe it’s rule #2 or #16) of crafting a good story is never to build a story around the revelation of a BIG SECRET at the very end. Why? Because, inevitably, that secret will disappoint. What’s more, a good story gives readers something to care about all along, not just the payoff at the end.

Seems Chris Provenzano and C. Gaby Mitchell, the writers of Get Low weren’t paying attention in class that day cause the entire first 7/8 of the film is all a big lead-up to THE SUPER SECRET SECRET that will be revealed at the end. In essence, it’s all a big, elaborately carved and gilded frame for the five minute story to be told by Felix Bush, the backwoods hermit character played, with trademark laconic gravitas and streak of unpredictability, by Robert Duvall. If you, like many, are a fan of Duvall, this might just be enough.

Critics have been lying down to heap praise upon Duvall for this film, and it is certainly a great performance, but like a Lifetime Achievement Oscar, all the praise is also something of a tribute to his age (80) and his longevity in the business. What’s more Felix Bush has certain commonalities with some of Duvall’s greatest roles—the preacher he played in The Apostle, or the country singer in Tender Mercies. In fact, the moment the entire movie leads to, when Felix Bush finally—after much dithering and stalling—tells his tale, is delivered in a virtuoso style not unlike that of a great revival preacher of the day.

Sissy Spacek also does much with a small role. Every scene she’s in is intriguing and rich. Unfortunately, in the end, it’s clear that the screenwriters have given her little to work with. The real rewarding performance in the movie comes from Bill Murray, who steals every scene he’s in and then some. His warm, comic delivery, while familiar, feels fresh and specific to the character. It’s also a welcome relief from the overall earnestness of the production.

Jeremy Renner To Star Alongside Cruise In ‘Mission: Impossible 4’

It’s rare when two different pieces of news come together to form an even more awesome story. That’s the case here, as Jeremy Renner, star of last year’s critical success Hurt Locker, will be joining the ever growing greatness which is the upcoming Mission: Impossible 4 film.

Why is this such a big deal? That’s a three-part answer.

One: Renner has been a huge deal ever since working on Locker and even got cast as a fan favorite in the upcoming Avengers film helmed by Joss Whedon as Hawkeye. As if that wasn’t enough, two: he’s joining M:I4, which will be directed by Brad Bird, famous for his work on The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and The Simpsons. Three, the script comes from lord of all things geek, J.J. Abrams.  From Deadline:

Renner will star alongside Tom Cruise in the fourth installment of a franchise that will begin production in the fall. It is the second major role for Renner coming out of his  turn as the reckless explosives specialist in the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker. Renner also will star in Marvel Studios’ The Avengers, playing the role of Hawkeye. Renner will next be seen in the Ben Affleck-directed The Town, the GK Films-produced drama that Warner Bros opens September 17.

Paramount has struggled to find the right co-star to play an operative opposite Cruise, and one factor was to selecting an actor who could potentially carry the series down the line, should Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character not continue to be the emphasis.

So there you have it, Renner will be showing off his archery in The Avengers, fighting alongside the former Daredevil in The Town, and now costarring in one of the highest grossing action film franchises in the past decade. What will he do next? Let’s hope he doesn’t go the way of Vin Diesel and pull a Pacifier.

New ‘James Bond 007: Blood Stone’ Istanbul Trailer Hits The Web

With only a few short months until it’s release, hype is building strong for the next 007 game. Piggybacking on the excitement of the upcoming Goldeneye revamp, James Bond 007: Blood Stone takes Bond through a new adventure in the realm of the Daniel Craig version of the character. Though not considered Bond canon, many are viewing the game as a replacement for the recent Bond movie that has been postponed indefinitely.

At Comic Con,  we got the chance to see a play through of one of the game’s early levels. Now, Activision has released a new trailer which showcases the game’s Istanbul level. Thought it is hard to tell from what we have seen so far just what the full story of the game is, it looks like Bond will be traveling far and wide across an array of locations.

Also included in this post are a group of screen shots showing a frozen tundra and shantytown village along with one of the game’s amazing explosions. Take a peek at everything and obviously stick close to the Flickcast for all your news on James Bond 007: Blood Stone as it becomes available.
