Get Your First Look at Marvel’s ‘Namor: The First Mutant’

Mutants are always good characters to have in a comic. For one, they are often somewhat exotic, look unusual or have cool costumes, which is pretty interesting. They also usually have some pretty cool powers or abilities with which to extract vengeance or justice on ordinary humans and, often, each other.

Keeping interesting mutants in mind brings us to a preview of Marvel’s upcoming comic Namor: The First Mutant. Written by Stuart Moore with art by Ariel Olvetti, this book puts Namor on a path with his deadliest foes yet—Atlantean Vampires hell-bent on destroying his kingdom.

You know how those Atlantean Vampires can be. Dicks. When vampires infest the depths of the dark ocean floor, the Sub-Mariner must make a life-altering decision…does he stand with Atlantis or the X-Men?

Check out previews for the comic after the jump. Namor: The First Mutant hits comic book store shelves on August 25th.

Walmart Offering $200 Kinect Bundles, Includes Game and Gift Card

Are you like me and sure you want a Microsoft Kinect but not entirely sure why? On the surface, the ability to control games with your entire body seems pretty amazing. In practice, I’m not a hundred percent sure I will ever actually do it.

Purchasing or not, it looks like we at least have some info about pricing for the Kinect, not from Microsoft who don’t seem ready to reveal the actual pricing details, but instead from Walmart who have already put the new toy up at their website for pre-order , along with some deals on a Game and Gift card.

For $199.99, consumers can pre-order the Kinect itself along with one of the device’s launch titles, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One, Dance Central, Joy Ride, Kinectimals, Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures. You can also grab another game from this list for an additional $60 (or $50 for Harry Potter). The bundle also includes a $30 Walmart eGift Card.

Now that we at least have some idea of the price of the thing does that mean I’m swayed one way or the other in my decision to purchase. Not really. Still don’t know if it’s worth it. Guess I’ll just have to get one and see for sure.

Check Out Previews for Tonight’s ‘Warehouse 13′ and Tomorrow’s ‘Ghost Hunter’s Academy’ Premiere

We tend to post a lot of previews for shows here at The Flickcast. We like to do it because shows we think are cool need to get as much of an audience as they can in order to stick around for awhile. We don’t want another Firefly situation on our hands, do we?

With that in mind we have a couple clips from some Syfy shows to share with you today. The first is from a brand new episode of Warehouse 13, a show that has been getting better and better with each episode. With season two now in full swing tonight’s episode, entitled “Mild Mannered,” brings the team another adventure where things are not what they seem and danger lurks around every corner. Plus, you can count on some weird artifact that is screwing everything up.

The second clip is from the season premiere of tomorrow’s Ghost Hunters International, a show that we usually watch through our hands covering our eyes. Yes, it’s pretty scary. It does have ghosts, after all.

Check out both clips after the break. Warehouse 13 airs tonight at 9/8C and Ghost Hunters International tomorrow at 9/8C only on Syfy.

Fox Sets Fall TV Premiere Dates

Some of our favorite shows happen to be on the Fox Network. Sure, Fox is also the network that, shall we say “mis-handled” both Firefly and Dollhouse, but that doesn’t stop them from also having some shows we really like.

With that in mind, we bring you the announcement of Fox’s premiere dates for most of its upcoming Fall shows. Some of the ones we are most interested in include the return of House on September 20th, the return of Glee on September 21st, the return of Fringe on September 23rd and the return of Human Target on September 24th.

Also, Family Guy is back on October 3rd with a one-hour special which will, most likely, feature a couple musical numbers. Click through for the full schedule of new and returning Fox shows along with their premiere dates.

Amanda Seyfried Joins Fox’s ‘I’m.mortal’

Ever since Tina Fey’s Mean Girls, we’ve been pretty big fans of Amanda Seyfried. She went over to Big Love while she found her stride in Hollywood, then continued on more serious projects like Chloe and the box office smash Dear John. Now Seyfried is dipping into the world of sci-fi with Fox’s I’m.mortal.

The premise sounds a bit like Logan’s Run with a twist, which isn’t much of a problem seeing as how we may never get our Logan’s Run remake. Variety spells out the details of the plot.

In “I’m.mortal,” time has become the currency. Once you turn 25 and your aging gene turns off, you must buy and bank time. If you are rich enough, you can live forever. But if you run out of time, you are engineered to die automatically.

When a rebel from the ghetto is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful, rich hostage (Seyfried). Together, this duo rages against the system, living minute to minute. They discover that love is more powerful than all the time in the world.

Check Out Four New Clips From ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’

There is no doubt this weekend is going to be a massive draw for the overall box office. Between Warner Brothers’ Inception, and Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, there will be plenty of things for adults and kids alike to check out in theaters.

The latter of the two films is quite intriguing because it’s a feature script based on the short from Fantasia of the same name. Only instead of Mickey Mouse, we get Jay Baruchel and instead of the silent wizard, we get Nic Cage. One of those trades sounds worthwhile.

The film is also supposed to incorporate some of the elements of Harry Potter, while staying as contemporary as a film like Jumper. Also, expect plenty of high-tension CG fight scenes taking place in downtown Manhattan.

We’ve got four new clips from the film you can check out, including one with one of our favorite film baddies, Alfred Molina. Take a look at them after the jump. Catch Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice in theaters this Friday.

With Comic-Con only days away, one of the bigger events during the show will be the world premiere of the DC Universe’s next animated film: Batman: Under The Red Hood. This film will be taking a far more serious approach to the source material and includes the death and trauma of a former Boy Wonder.

We’ll be bringing you plenty of coverage of the film straight from the show next week and we’ve had a few clips for you already to whet your appetite. The first was a few weeks ago when Batman finally confronts his titular enemy. Now the Red Hood is back in a new clip as he confronts Gotham’s top mob bosses.

The movie features an all-star cast with Bruce Greenwood stepping in as the Dark Knight, Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as The Red Hood, Neil Patrick Harris as Dick Grayson, and John DiMaggio as The Joker.
