‘Auto-Tune The News # 8’ Goes Live

Picture 1Though its a viable source of daily information, we all accept that watching the news can be pretty boring. Whether it’s C-SPAN, CNN, or Fox News, unless you’re really invested in the subject matter, it can put you to sleep in a matter of minutes. Back in April, a few clever college students found out that the news can be so much more, if only sung in the right key.

The first Auto-Tune the News started on April 11th, with a series of clips taken from news networks, cut up, and auto-tuned to a beat. The outcome was pretty impressive, and they’ve been cranking out new episodes on a nearly monthly basis.

Yesterday, the 8th episode went live, and it includes a range of topics from dragons to geese to Michael Vick. Take a look at the video below, buy the MP3 here, and you’ll probably never listen to Joe Biden the same way again.

Final ‘Guitar Hero 5’ Release Trailer

guitar-hero-logoI’m sure you went to your favorite gaming store and purchased your very own copy of Guitar Hero 5 as soon as it came out this week. But just in case you haven’t gotten around to it or are having second thoughts, we’ve got the final release trailer for the game to perhaps overcome your hesitation.

Although, as far as game trailers and marketing go, nothing can really beat the Blur racing trailer. If you haven’t seen it, you should really check it out.

In the meantime, be sure to watch this Guitar Hero 5 trailer, get psyched, and go out and buy the game. You’ll be glad you did because the game is a lot of fun. Guitar Hero 5 is out now.

New Clip From ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Season 5

bfnude2A few years back, when FX decided they wanted to branch out into comedy, they put out two shows. One was about a group of people with different eating disorders and how they were dealing in comedic ways called Starved. The other, which seemed pretty low budget, was about a group of no-good residents of the Philadelphia area who constantly get themselves into self-inflicted situations that mock things like race, gender, abortion, and all things “taboo”. Needless to say, the latter show made it past the first season.

The show struggled in it’s second season, before veteran actor Danny DeVito decided to come on as producer and co-star. Now the show is bigger than ever, selling out panels at Comic-Con and entering their fifth successful season later this month. A new clip has popped up online, highlighting season five, but more importantly, a naked DeVito.

Check out the blooper of a leather couch giving birth to a naked Danny DeVito after the jump, and enjoy the next season of It’s Always Sunny next Thursday, September 10, on the FX Network.

The Pull List Comic Reviews: ‘Exiles’, ‘Marvel Zombies Return’ & ‘Last Resort’

Unfortunately, due to a scheduling snafu, I didn’t get my comics this week until late Wednesday night. As a result, I wasn’t able to get through them all in one sitting so there won’t be a Pull of the Week this week. But that won’t stop me from getting you two full days of comic reviews from the books I did get a chance to read this week.

Exiles #6 – Marvel – $3.99

Score: 4.0

And finally, Exiles comes to a bittersweet end. And it’s not bittersweet because we will miss our heroic team as they are shown off in classic fashion. It’s bittersweet because the book that was so lacking in story and character development after dragging the name of one of our favorite series through the mud has finally ended and we don’t need to see it dip even further away from the quality it once was. After only four issues, it was revealed that Exiles‘ second volume, which somehow trumped New Exiles for being the worst use of the Exiles team, would be coming to a quick end. So to “celebrate” the series finale, they decided to make it a “mega-sized” final issue to help tie up all those loose ends that originally should have been spread out over an ungodly number of painfully written issues.

Much like the rest of the series, Exiles #6 just isn’t good. After finding out their first mission was not a success, the Exiles return to the world to break up the alliance that was keeping mutant kind united and would ultimately lead to the end of the world by driving the wedge of Scott Summers’ infidelity between Jean Grey and Emma Frost. When this happens, a series of events plays out that explains the “true” origins of the Exiles teams and how the Timebroker, the bugs and the old couple weren’t ever really behind their formation.

Exclusive Interviews: Sigourney Weaver, Jon Landau and Steven Lang Talk ‘Avatar’

Avatar-Teaser-PosterBy now, anyone frequenting The Flickcast has seen our reports about Avatar’s tickets already on sale for its December 18th release, our thoughts on its early footage and of course spent hours dissecting every second of the initial trailer. But there hasn’t been much talk with either the cast or crew of the film since Jim Cameron’s appearance at the E3 convention back in June. That is, until now.

Recently, we got the chance to speak briefly with stars of the film Sigourney Weaver and Steven Lang as well as Producer Jon Landau about their experiences working on the film. Rather than asking them what we should expect to see as the trailers and revealed footage have already given us an idea of that, we wanted to know what it was like for these film veterans to work with the new technology Cameron developed specifically for this project.

Zachary Quinto’s ‘Hostage: A Love Story’

quintoZachary Quinto went from obscurity, to rising star, then all the way to blockbuster actor in a matter of months. In that time, we got to see him as a good guy, a bad guy, a bad guy pretending to be a good guy, and a Vulcan. Not once have we seen Quinto stretch his comedic muscles. . . until now.

Funny or Die has developed a great niché by taking some of our favorite actors and putting them in some pretty outstanding skits. You may remember the Ballad of G.I. Joe a few weeks back. Well now, the site has left room for Zachary Quinto’s debut as a crazed criminal who takes a liking to one of his hostages.

Check out the very NSFW video after the jump, and enjoy Quinto’s Spockian ways when Star Trek hits DVD stores November 17th.
