While we count the weeks, days and hours until Community returns we can console ourselves a bit with some of NBC’s other programming. Case in point today is the brand new show Awake, which looks to be pretty interesting and features some actors we really like, and one of our long-time favorites, Parks and Recreation.
Starting us off is the new show Awake, starring Laura Allen of the seriously underappreciated Terriers and Jason Isaacs of Harry Potter movie fame as a man who seems to exist in two worlds and neither of them are an ideal place to be. We’ve got some previews for this new show for you today and from what we’ve seen so far, it looks pretty interesting.
Then, we turn our attention to the folks in Pawnee who, as the previews show, are having a bit of an issue with a drinking fountain. This is why I always bring bottled water wherever I go.
Parks and Rec airs at 8:30/7:30C followed by The Office, Up all Night and the premiere of Awake at 10/9C on NBC. Check out all the videos after the break.

In an effort to raise awareness, NBC’s Awake is the latest series pilot to be put online ahead of the series premiere to drum up interest. In a part of a growing trend, the opening episode of the parallel universe drama starring Jason Isaacs is being made available 2 weeks before the series’ premiere on March 1.
This comes one day after the network put out the first seven minutes of the mid-season replacement series. The show is created by Kyle Killen (Lone Star) and also executive produced by Howard Gordon (24, Homeland).
A similar tactic was used for Smash, which premiered Feb. 6 to 11.4 million total viewers and a 3.8 rating following The Voice. NBC released the first episode for the “making of a Broadway musical” show beginning Jan. 16 via digital platforms, three weeks before it launched. The network also screened the pilot in select cities.
Awake makes its way to the small screen Thursday, March 1 at 10 p.m., taking over the slot previously occupied by Prime Suspect and The Firm, the latter now airing on Saturdays.
Awake centers on police detective Michael Britten (Isaacs) who finds himself living in two realities after a brutal car accident, one where his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) is alive and the other where his son Rex (Dylan Minnette) is.
Watch the full pilot after the jump.

TV is very popular during Comic-Con in San Diego. So much so that most of the major TV networks represent and bring their shows down to the event to give fans a chance to see and get excited for new and returing programs.
One new show trying to take advantage of the captive audience during the Con is NBC’s Awake. The show, which stars Jason Isaacs, centers on police detective Michael Britten (Isaacs) who regains consciousness following a car accident involving his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) and his son Rex (Dylan Minnette).
Michael moves back and forth between two realities: in one, Rex survived while Hannah is dead; in the other, Hannah survived but Rex did not. Trying to keep both his loved ones alive, Michael starts living a “double life,” moving back and forth between the two realities, dealing with different personal conflicts and police partners.
To help you get ready for the show, we’ve got two videos. One features star Jason Isaacs, who explains what attracted him to the show and concept. The second features Executive Producers Kyle Killen and Howard Gordon who discuss the show and it’s upcoming season.
Click through to check out both the videos. Awake premieres on NBC in the Fall.

With Comic-Con in San Diego coming next month it stands to reason we will start to get a better idea of what film, TV and comic book creators and studios are going to be bringing to the show. Today the news comes from Fox, who will be brining 13 shows down to San Diego and in particular will be showing off their brand new Steven Spielberg pre-historic time travel drama Terra Nova.
Other shows making an appearance at the Con include the animated Napoleopn Dynamite, Awake, Bones, Bob’s Burgers, The Finder, Allen Gregory, Glee, Bones, Family Guy, The Simpsons, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, and Futurama. So basically, it’s pretty much the Seth McFarland show with a bit of Spielberg thrown in for good measure. Plus, it will be nice to see Stephen Lang get to play a good guy finally.
Oh yeah, those kids from Glee will be there too. Plus, and this isn’t related to Fox, Twilight will also be in attendance and taking over Hall H this year as well. Good times.
Click through for Fox’s schedule. Comic-Con in San Diego goes from July 21 – 24. Of course, as we were last year, we’ll be there this year to bring you all the fun.
So, check back early and often right here for all your Comic-Con 2011 news, reviews, interviews and more.
