First off, I love animated films. That’s not the problem here. The problem is that if you go to the trouble to call your animated film Epic, it better be in no uncertain terms.
And don’t get me started on those ads for movies promising the film will “take your breath away.” That never happens. Anyway, I digress.
There’s a new animated film from the creators of Ice Age and Rio and a new trailer. We’ve got that second one for you today. But first, a bit of story:
EPIC tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world . . . and ours.
Check out the trailer after the break. Look for Epic to hit theaters on May 24, 2013.

Regardless of how you feel about her, Lady Gaga is certainly a pop culture sensation. Fans across the globe are going ga-ga for her newest music video “Telephone” featuring Beyonce, which just hit the web. This week, they’ll be able to rock out to some of her previous hits, including “Bad Romance” and “Poker Face,” which are coming to the Rock Band store.
What’s even more exciting, and hilarious, is that Eric Cartman’s cover version of “Poker Face” is also slated for Rock Band release. The song was first heard on a South Park episode where Cartman would rather play Rock Band than save whales being slaughtered by Japanese terrorists. The cover has been the subject of many a YouTube video, including some remixes with Lady Gaga’s original version, and the version sung/spoken by the amazing Christopher Walken.
Not sure how much fun the original Lady Gaga songs will be to play on Rock Band, but the Cartman version is sure to be a favorite. The Lady Gaga Track Pack and the rest of the new songs available for Rock Band will be released March 16th for Xbox 360 and Wii, and March 18th for the PS3. Here’s the full list of songs.

At The Flickcast, we’ve made it pretty clear how much we enjoy the new FOX series Glee. It manages to incorporate all the things people love about karaoke, Friends, and any after-school special. On top of that, each episode seems to only get better, with each of that night’s songs breaking iTunes’ top 20 list instantly.
In tonight’s episode, “Vitamin D”, things seem to heat up for the adults. From a FOX press release:
In this week’s episode, Will (Matthew Morrison) challenges the kids to a healthy dose of competition with boys against girls in a mash-up showdown. Meanwhile, Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig) takes a job as the school nurse, despite having no medical experience, to keep an eye on her husband.
After the break, check out three brand new clips from tonight’s show, including one where Will sets up the boys vs. girls mash-up competition. This spawns tonight’s songs from Beyonce and Katrina and the Waves’ “Halo vs. Walkin’ on Sunshine” and Bon Jovi and Usher’s “It’s My Life vs. Confessions Part II.”
Watch Glee tonight at 9PM on FOX.

Let’s face it, the world of terrestrial FM radio has gotten pretty terrible in the past decade or so, which is why we’ve moved on to things like satellite, iPods, and internet radio stations. Well, finally, there’s an internet radio station (that you can listen to on your iPod or iPhone) for us geeks!
Meet The Point Radio, one of the first 24/7 internet radio stations dedicated to the world of pop culture.
On The Point, there are plenty of shows for the pop-savvy, from the obscure music show Weird Sounds inside the Gold Mine, which airs every Sunday at 7pm EDT, to our very own The Flickcast, which airs every Wednesday at 1pm EDT, with reruns running through Sunday.
When it comes to music, there is no song too popular or obscure, from Beyonce to the Beatles to a Supremes/Nirvana mash-up, you really never know what you’re going to hear next, and that makes for quite an experience.
Of course, like all real these days, you can hit up The Point in all of your social networks, from Facebook to Twitter and even get the point on your Mobile device. Check out The Point Radio and enjoy a true pop culture radio station today!
