Just when we thought we’d have to wait for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con to get a first glimpse at David E. Kelley’s failed pilot for NBC starring Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman, Christmas seems to come a bit early.
We’ve got some very rare, very raw footage from the never-to-be-seen episode in which Palicki’s Amazonian princess takes on a team of thugs. The footage is very reminiscent of a few other failed comic book properties such as Roger Corman’s Fantastic Four and Fox’s failed Generation X pilot.
This is the very first footage we’re getting from the pilot, so be sure to judge and comment away, as we’re pretty astounded as to how the master of legal comedies like Boston Legal and The Practice could do something like this.
Check out the scene after the jump, and be sure to keep an eye out as more footage will likely surface as we get closer to convention season. And yes, she’s wearing the hot pants in this scene.

Just when you thought it was safe to claim that a DC super hero was finally getting played by an American actor, the cast for David E. Kelley’s upcoming NBC adaptation of Wonder Woman is getting an almost all British supporting cast. It’s been announced that both Cary Elwes and Elizabeth Hurley have both been cast in the upcoming series, along with The Good Wife’s Pedro Pascal and Cold Case’s Tracie Thoms.
Deadline explains Elwes role in the upcoming series:
Elwes will play Henry Detmer, the acting CEO of Themyscira Industries, who is deeply devoted to Diana. He runs the day-to-day operations of the company and acts like an uncle to Diana, though he could be a possible love interest down the line.
Uncle-slash-love interest? This could be a more dramatic role than we were expecting. Not only are we getting a peek at her alter-ego’s lifestyle, but a recent tweet explained that Elizabeth Hurley has been cast as Wonder Woman’s evil nemesis.
Later, details went on to explain that Hurley will be playing Veronica Cale, a nefarious scientist and business rival to Palicki’s Diana Prince. Adding to that cast, Thoms will be taking on the role of Diana’s personal assistant while Pascal will be playing a local detective and Prince’s police liason.
Looks like more and more of this series is finally coming together. We expect to see more as shooting begins in the coming months.

It’s been speculated for months, even before the idea of David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman TV series was even on the table. But now, the Amazon Warrior finally has an actress to play her in the upcoming show: Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki. From THR:
The project, from David E. Kelley Prods. and Warner Bros. TV, is a retelling of the DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman (Palicki), a.k.a. Diana Prince, tries to balance her life as a vigilante crime fighter, a successful corporate executive and a modern woman.
Palicki, who appeared as Tyra Collete in the NBC/DirecTV series Friday Night Lights, stars in the upcoming Red Dawn. Her most recent series regular role was Fox’s short-lived Texas-set drama Lone Star, which aired only two episodes last fall.
So here we are, over a decade later after names like Joel Silver, Joss Whedon, and plenty more have had their turn trying to invigorate the project in either film or TV, Boston Legal creator David E. Kelley is the one to finally bring the project to life.
Expect to see some publicity shots of Palicki in the (hopefully) classic Wonder Woman outfit soon enough, as the plan is to pitch the show to the network for next year’s pilot season.
