The Flickcast’s ‘On the Radar’

Welcome to this week’s On the Radar where we delve into all corners of the entertainment, tech and geek Internets for news, views and whatnot that may have escaped our regular coverage this week. Let is know if we missed something.

• Yeah, we kinda feel the same way about Jonah Hex. Where did it all go so wrong? We know it isn’t Megan Fox’s fault, so what is is?

• Do you want a cool action figure featuring one of your favorite characters from Firefly Captain Malcolm Reynolds? If so, this isn’t it.

• You say you like Predators and can’t wait for Robert Rodriguez’s version to come out? Until then, check out these pics of the new/old Predators.

• A company has produced bars of soap in the shape of Han Solo in Carbonite. Sadly, more male users will buy this product than female.

• There’s something to be said about the originality of the newest wave of XXX parodies. At least, our inner teenager is excited for The Breakfast Club: A XXX Parody.

• Everybody loves True Blood. Even Snoop Dogg…for some reason. Oh, wait . . .

• Betty White is the hot new thing, from SNL to the MTV Movie Awards. Everybody is asking for more. The only thing we weren’t asking for? Nude pictures.

• YouStar is a cool toy that allows you to superimpose your face over an actor while re-enacting some of your favorite film moments. How about Leonard Nimoy as Terminator? Yes please.

• We’ve heard rumblings about a Logan’s Run remake, but now it seems the mastermind behind 28 Days Later will be taking the helm.

• We know, you love Twlight and everything that goes along with it. But maybe you shouldn’t love it quite this much.

• Speaking of vampires, that hunky Eric Northman from True Blood (aka actor Alexander Skarsgard) has signed on for a role in the new movie based on the game Battleship. There’s really no joke that can do the news of a Battleship movie justice.

• Thank God someone has gone to the trouble of making a list of all the Tom Hanks films in which he pees. No really, we’re serious.
