With former and current hits like The Sopranos or Game of Thrones, it’s nice HBO hasn’t forgotten about its other series. In particular, a little one called True Blood that’s done pretty well for itself.
So well, in fact, that the show is about to return for its sixth season. And yes, we’ve got a brand new promo for that season to share with you today.
In it you’ll see a lot of what to expect from the coming season. It’s also interesting to see how the show is going to progress given that creator Alan Ball has moved over to do Banshee on Cinemax.
The show returns on June 16 for a ten-episode run. Yes, that’s a bit shorter than usual, but don’t worry, we’re sure it will be just as good.
Check out the promo after the break.

I was never blessed with the gift of artistic ability. The extent of my ability was doodling in the margins of my notebooks during classes, or adding a mustache and glasses (and perhaps some devil horns) to a photograph in a magazine. Whether it was a poster, a comic book, or a tattoo I’ve always been fascinated with art and those that can make a living through it.
Around the time of WrestleMania 27, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin appeared on television with a brand new t-shirt designed by artist Joe Romero. I quickly found his online presence, Average Joe Art, and began following him on Twitter. Ever since then Joe has been pumping out great, pop culture-inspired illustrations. From Breaking Bad, to Walking Dead, to The Avengers Joe has added to his catalogue of comic-style homages to geeky T.V & film favorites.

Some of you may be thinking that this season’s True Blood isn’t as good as previous ones. To that we say “Heck no.” We’re liking it just fine, thank you.
With only three more episodes to go for the season, things are really starting to heat up with loyalties being questioned, new alliances being formed and lots and lots of blood-soaked sex. We’re loving every minute of it.
Okay, not every minute. The Lafayette and Terry stories are kinda slowing things down, but I guess that’s what you get with an ensamble cast. Not everyone gets to be involved in the “A” story of vampire revolution.
Still, we’ll keep watching — if only to see what crazy shit Russell does next or how Eric is gonna punish the usurper who dares to sit in his chair at Fangtasia. To help get us (and you) ready for this Sunday’s new episode, we’ve got some previews for it. Find them, as usual, after the break,
True Blood airs Sunday at 9PM on HBO.

It’s Comic-Con time so it seems appropriate to have some new clips previewing Sunday night’s all-new episode of True Blood. After all, the show is very successful, has legions of fans and also has quite a presence at the Con.
So, that brings us to the clips. We’ve got two for you and they’re titled “Sookie’s Gross” and “Jason’s Promise.” We can’t know for sure what those titles mean, but we can probably guess.
“Sookie’s Gross” probably means, well, you know, she’s gross. Probably because she did the nasty with a werewolf. Vampires don’t like that.
As for “Jason’s Promise” we can only surmise that Jason promises that he will or won’t do something. See, it doesn’t take a rocket doctor to figure these things out, does it?
Check them both out after the break. True Blood airs on HBO Sunday night at 9/8C.

With season five of True Blood in full swing, things have really started to get interesting. All sorts of cool things are happening to our favorite vampires, and vampire lovers, and this season looks to just keep getting better.
We’ve got some previews for this Sunday’s new episode (We like to call it Episode 53. Catchy, no?) to share with you today. In them you get a taste of what’s in store for Sookie, Eric, Bil, Pam, Jason and the rest of the gang this week. One guess, things don’t go exactly as planned and The Authority is pissed. Shocker!
Check out both previews after the break. Look for True Blood at 9/8C on HBO.

Last week HBO debuted their newest show, The Newsroom from Aaron Sorkin. The pilot sets a tone that hearkens back to the prime eras of The West Wing and the criminally underrated Sports Night. We hoped that being on a channel like HBO gives this show a better chance than Studio 60 got.
Well HBO is quick to deliver a season two verdict as Deadline is reporting a green-light has happened:
The renewal of Newsroom comes just over a week after the debut of the series starring Jeff Daniels — the June 24 premiere drew 2.1 million viewers at 10 PM. That result actually put Newsroom ahead of the 1.4 million viewers True Blood drew for its 2008 series premiere.
Exciting stuff for fans of dialogue heavy, walking through corridors, intellectual drama with a pinch of comedy. You will also notice that True Blood also got another season too, but that is as much of a no brainer as you can possibly get.
So HBO adds another hit to an already strong stable of current hour-long dramas that include Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, and the previously mentioned True Blood. It also gives HBO a smaller scale hit series to go along side the other big productions that should help enable the channel to keep making all of these great shows forever.

After a long wait, HBO’s True Blood came back with a vengeance last week and saw the return of all our favorite Bon Temps residents. As was normal for the show, it wasted no time and got several of the characters in trouble with more surely on the way.
The story continues this Sunday and to get you ready we’ve got a couple preview videos for the episode to share. In them we get some clues as to the nature of The Authority and find out what happens when Sookie and Lafayette try to make a vampire with Pam’s help.
Let’s just say things don’t go exactly as they’d hoped, for anyone. But whatever happens, we’re glad to have True Blood back.
Check out the preview videos after the break. Look for True Blood on Sunday at 9/8C on HBO.

Even with the iPad dominating the tablet market Amazon’s Kindle Fire is still the second most popular tablet available. One thing users had been hoping for was a way to watch content from pay services like HBO the way their iPad using friends could.
Sadly, that’s wasn’t possible. . . until now. That’s right, HBO on Wednesday announced its popular video streaming app HBO GO is now available immediately for the Amazon Kindle Fire. HBO GO allows HBO subscribers with service through certain cable providers to stream HBO content such as Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Sopranos and a great selection of movies to their mobile devices.
“We are thrilled to offer HBO GO to the growing community of millions of Kindle Fire owners,” said Aaron Rubenson, director of the Amazon Appstore. “The HBO GO app will offer instant access to HBO’s incredible lineup of shows. Kindle Fire owners already download and use apps and games frequently on their devices, and we expect that only to increase with the addition of HBO GO and all of its popular content.”
For more, check out HBO’s full press release after the break.

It seems the popularity of vampires would be winding down with the over-saturation of the market, but Hollywood is moving away from your modern vampire, as seen in Twilight, True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries, and seems to be looking toward the past to keep the craze going. There has been a sudden explosion of projects based on the classic vampire, Dracula. Names ranging from Adam Sandler to Park Chan-Wook are involved in some kind of story about the classical bloodsucker.
According to Deadline, Sony has purchased a pitch from writer Jason Keller that will tell Dracula’s origin story, with Joe Roth and Palak Patel set to produce. Sony would only admit that they intend to start a period franchise, and with Keller credited for the upcoming Snow White re-imagining Mirror Mirror, that might put two franchises on his plate.

There’s no doubt that this year has been a pretty impressive year for dramatic TV. Between True Blood, Game of Thrones, and Boardwalk Empire, HBO has managed to be on of the top networks to deliver quality content throughout the entire year.
So why wouldn’t they want to celebrate that fact with a killer supercut of their 2011 successes. From clips of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, How to Make it in America, and plenty others, there are more than enough classic TV moments to tie together.
So why not feed into the joy of the network and take a look at their 2011 Image Spot after the jump, and see what they have to offer in 2012, including the highly anticipated sequel season to Game of Thrones.
