Jon Stewart Blasts the BBC, American TV and More

We love Jon Stewart. He’s a funny guy who tells it like it is. He should have his own show.

Oh wait, he does. It’s called The Daily Show and here’s a clip from it wherin the Stewmeister blasts the BBC and American “News.”

Well, we think it’s funny, so there. Check it out below.

New ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Trailer Is Here

It’s beginning to smell a lot like GTA. Yes, that’s right kids, preorders for the next Rockstar Games extravaganza, dubbed Grand Theft Auto V, are now taking place.

To get you pumped for the release, the gang at Rockstar have dropped a new trailer for the game this week. And as if that wasn’t enough, the company has said that GTA V’s world is bigger than Grand Theft Auto IV, Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas combined, is set in Los Santos, the fictional recreation of Los Angeles, and will allow gamers taking to the sky and sea in fighter jets and scuba gear. Wonder if you’ll have to jack those from other people to use them? Our guess is you probably will.

Look for the game to arrive next Spring. Until then, check out the new trailer after the break.

Previews? We Got ‘Em for ‘1600 Penn’, ‘Grimm’, ‘Revolution’ and More!

Here’s a bunch of previews for several of NBC’s shows. These all look interesting, Grimm in particular, but we’re also kinda interested in what 1600 Penn has in store.

After all, it features Bill Pullman as the President of the United States, which should be pretty fun. Also, we’ve got previews for Up All Night and Revolution as well, two other shows that are very popular.

Check out all the previews after the break.

Yay America! The New ‘Red Dawn’ Trailer Brings the Patriotism

This country is big enough for more than one Red Dawn movie. Sure, we liked the original featuring Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen, but this new one looks pretty good too.

In fact, this cast contains some of our favorite actors including Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, so we can’t help but be interested. And today, as trailer Tuesday continues, there’s a new trailer/video that’s dropped to bring you even more from the upcoming movie.

In case you’re not familiar with the story, it goes a little something like this:

Determined to fight back (after their small town is invaded), a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

Wolverines! Check out the trailer after the break.

A New Trailer for ‘The Host’ Is Here

Even if you’re not a fan of Twilight or author Stephanie Meyer, you can’t argue her work seems to appeal to a lot of people. Plus, with the Twilight books, movies and merchandise, her works also bring in a ton of money.

So, it should come as no surprise the powers that be are going to try to cash in on as much of her work as possible. This shocking revelation brings us to The Host.

Meyer has written one book in this saga and it’s been made into a movie. A new trailer for said movie has dropped today.

In case you’re not familier with The Host, it tells the story of “one of the last humans on Earth trying to resist an alien invasion. When an alien parasite is injected into her, it becomes obsessed with her memories and free will.”

We can guess it also discovers the meaning of life, love and what it means to be human. Or something like that.

Anyway, look for The Host, which was directed by Andrew Niccol and stars Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Diane Kruger and Jake Abel, to arrive in theaters on March 29, 2013. Check out the trailer after the break.

New Trailer for ’21 and Over’ Arrives

Yeah, I remember my first beer too. And now, it did not result in hazy night of debauchery — which is probably why that story isn’t a movie.

Fortunately, this one is. It’s called 21 and Over and it’s the next movie from Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. In the movie, “chaos ensues when a straight-A college student’s two best friends take him out for a “quick beer” to celebrate his 21st birthday the night before his all-important medical school interview.”

It’s not too hard to guess what happens, right? 21 And Over, which stars Miles Teller, Justin Chon, Sarah Wright and Skylar Astin, is set for a March 1, 2013 release. Check out the trailer after the break.

Check This Out: Trailer for Syfy’s ‘Dungeons & Dragons: The Book of Vile Darkness’

In keeping with the somewhat medieval theme we’ve got going today, here’s a trailer for the upcoming Syfy original movie Dungeons & Dragons: The Book of Vile Darkness. We’re bringing this to you not because we expect all that much from it, we just keep hoping someone will make a decent D&D movie someday.

Maybe this is it? More than likely, not. Still, we keep hope alive. Mostly because what the heck else are we gonna do?

Also, this one features Meagan Good (who’s hot) and, well, some other pretty people, so at least there’s something to look at when the story and everything else falls apart. Optimists? We try.

The movie premieres on Syfy November 24th at 9/8C. Check out the trailer after the break.

Game Review: ‘Assassin’s Creed III’ for XBox 360

After three straight games following Ezio through the Renaissance, the Assassin’s Creed series moves on to a new and still somewhat unexpected timeframe of the American Revolution. Since the initial announcement of Assassin’s Creed III, the hype machine has turned out video preview after video preview to help bring back loyal assassins as well as recruit new ones to the franchise’s ranks. The result is one of the most anticipated titles of 2012 (coming out right before Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II) which will most likely outsell its previous versions. But as we have seen in the past, just because a game has a triple A development budget and tons of marketing behind it, that doesn’t necessarily ensure it is going to live up to its potential.

The Long…

When I first stepped into Assassin’s Creed III, the first thing I noticed was how alive the world in front of me was. Being in a theater with hundreds of other guests made it feel like a real event going on around my character. It didn’t feel like just some instance created with a few background characters to fill up the space nor did it feel like the background of a sports game with a generic crowd with repetitive motions wallpapered in either. Instead it felt like my character was a part of a real and tactile world.

This feeling continues to hold true in many other areas of the game, especially the cities of Boston and New York. Constantly, you are surrounded by people all doing very different things. Some might be selling wares, others begging for coins and others just going about their daily business. What helps make this different though is the variety of animations and poses characters on screen go through as they go about their daily life. With a few exceptions (like the subway arrival in one of the game’s later present day scenes), you don’t often see two people on screen doing the same thing at the same time.
