Call of Duty Elite Is Going Free for ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’

If you were playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, chances are you may have became a member of Call of Duty Elite. For a fee, you were able to access Call of Duty Elite and first dibs on all of the Call of Duty content drops. With Call of Duty: Black Ops II upon us in less than a month (check out the release trailer here), the question has been, “What will happen to Call of Duty Elite”? When the various SKUs were announced for Black Ops II were announced, there was no mention of Elite membership as one of the advantages to purchasing the higher end SKUs. And now, we know why.

Call of Duty Elite is coming to all Black Ops II players for free. Now before everyone who paid for the first year of Call of Duty Elite gets up in arms because they paid for membership, take notice that it isn’t the same as it was a year ago. In the video trailer below which discusses Elite’s membership benefits below, notice the one most important (and most expensive feature) is no longer included in this second season of CoD Elite. The Content Drops. When you look back at the cost of Call of Duty Elite and how it related to Modern Warfare 3, it was the content drops that made up for the charges from Elite membership.

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Movie Tie-In Game Gets a Teaser Trailer

There are two known facts about The Flickcast’s gaming division (a.k.a. the Bitcast):

1. WallE and I love video games.

2. WallE and I cannot wait until Wreck-It Ralph hits theaters.

So it only makes sense that we would be following the news on the Wreck-It Ralph tie-in video game. Now while we all know that movie tie-in games run a high risk of not living up to expectations for the film, or for games in general, there is a shed of hope for Wreck-It Ralph. After all, it is a game… based off a movie… that is based off of gaming. What could possibly go wrong? Well, don’t answer that as we have seen many a project that should have been a layup go wrong.

In the new teaser trailer, we take a quick look at Wreck-It Ralph but don’t get the opportunity to see his gameplay so that is what leads us to speculate. What is Wreck-It Ralph going to be like? Players have already been given the opportunity to play browser based versions of Hero’s Duty and Sugar Rush on the Wreck-It Ralph movie site as well as a Fix-It Felix iOS game.

New ‘Jack Reacher’ Trailer with Tom Cruise Is Here

Let’s be honest, Tom Cruise is not a large or particularly menacing man. However, in the new movie Jack Reacher he plays one of those in the character of Reacher.

Let’s just say while Tom is pretty good at action, he’s no Jack Reacher — at least if you take the Lee Child books as gospel as to how the character is supposed to appear. Anyway, here’s the latest trailer for the movie so you can decide for yourself.

Check it out below. Look for Mr. Cruise as Mr. Reacher on December 21.

Exclusive Look At The Upcoming Indie Horror Film ‘The Cohasset Snuff Film’

Despite what the weather might indicate around most of the country right now, we are knee-deep into October, the month where all the things that go bump in the night get their time to shine. Most people are probably well aware of some of the bigger horror releases taking advantage of this time of year, but there are other independent features that are hitting select theaters soon that your horror fans might want to know about.

One such upcoming film is The Cohasset Snuff film from up and coming filmmaker Edward Payson. For those who have no idea what this film is yet, lets begin with a synopsis:

In 2009, the small town of Cohasset, Massachusetts was rocked with tragedy. A 17-year-old high school senior named Collin Mason murdered three classmates. All the murders were videotaped and uploaded to the Internet via bit torrent sites and for three days, the world viewed the murders of these three innocent teens.

Through legal action, the parents of the victims were able to remove all footage from the Internet and the town tried to save face by pretending it never happened. Bootleg copies of this footage are still passed around and downloaded through illegal means. The impact of this video is still being felt in Cohasset today. The video has become infamous, and is now referred to as The Cohasset Snuff Film.

It seems an easy leap to take the found footage sub-genre and focus on an infamous snuff film. Hopefully this will work to the film’s advantage as it can heighten the voyeuristic qualities of found footage and could really play with the audience’s sense of morality as they are entertained by horrific acts on-screen.

Check This Out: An Unfilmed Coda Scene To The Recent ‘Doctor Who’ Mid-Season Finale

The recent five episode run to kick off the seventh season of Doctor Who ended with the bittersweet send off of the Ponds. The second longest running companions for the Doctor in the new run, and the thus far only traveling mates of the Eleventh Doctor, the Ponds were fan favorites whose presence on the show will be missed.

That last paragraph contained no spoilers, as it was well publicized that they would be ending their run in the 5th episode of this current season. Going forward there will be spoilers for that episode, so if you somehow missed how the Ponds met their ends you might want to bookmark this story and come back once you watched the episode.

Some how the great Steven Moffat managed to essentially kill these two beloved characters while at the same time giving them the happiest ending possible. Even though they were trapped in the past during a time the Doctor is unable to ever visit (which were sure will be retconned sooner rather than later), they were both given full, seemingly normal lives to live together for decades and decades. The love story of Amy and Rory Williams, which has seen their love forged over thousands of years, over several deaths and over a parallel lifetime finally settles long enough to let them live out the rest of their days in loving peace.

That is where the show left us, a sucker punch to the gut that had the sweetest of aftertastes. However, the Doctor Who writing crew is not one to leave well enough alone, and that has been proven once again in this newly released story board animation of an unfilmed coda scene to that episode.

Check it out after the jump.
