The Flickcast – Page 137 of 1030 – Stuff Nerds Love

Yes, It’s All Six ‘Star Wars’ Movies at the Same Time

star-wars-movies-all

This is just, well, I don’t know. Love it or hate it, here’s a video (crafted by YouTube’s Michael McNulty) that shows all six Star Wars movies at the same time. At least, if you or a loved one has not seen one or more of the movies, this is a way to do it quickly and efficiently.

Not to say this is a good way, it’s just efficient. In truth, it gave most of us here a headache. But then we usually like to watch our favorite (and not so favorite) movies one at a time.

Call us old fashioned, but that’s the way we like it. I really hope this isn’t the start of a trend. That said, it is pretty interesting and even, at points, kinda fun to watch.

Draw your own conclusions by watching the video after the break.

Joe calls Hardy to gloat about winning this round. He also wants to cheer Hardy up so he keeps playing the game. He tells Hardy he needs to be a functioning alcoholic.

Claire arrives at Joe’s house, and Jacob brings her up to her private room. He leaves some clothes for her. Claire wants to see her son and refuses to listen to Jacob. Jacob throws her down and tells her that Joe has allowed him to hurt her, so long as he doesn’t cut or bruise her face.

‘This Is The End’ Red Band Trailer Released, Is Completely Awesome

this-is-the-end-trailer-1

April Fools Day is usually a day that brings tons of fake news, including trailer releases (like that Legend of Zelda trailer that will never be made into a movie *sadface*). But this year, April 1st was the release date of the red band trailer for the unbelievably star-packed action comedy This Is The End starring James Franco (who has had an already packed 2013 with the release of Spring Breakers and Oz The Great and Powerful), Seth Rogen, Emma Watson, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, and that’s just the supposed “main cast.” From just watching the trailer, expect appearances by Michael Cera, Rihanna, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Mindy Kaling, and more. Holy freaking casting!

The main plot of the movie is simple: James Franco is throwing a kick-ass party and invites all his friends (because celebrities always party with tons of other celebrities) to have a crazy good time. Until the apocalypse happens. Los Angeles is engulfed in fire and brimstone, monsters and aliens are running rampant, people are looting and killing, mass hysteria basically.

Eventually, the main cast barricade themselves in what’s left of Franco’s house and try to survive. At one point, Emma Watson breaks in with an ax (a freaking AX) to try her hand at some looting, which looks to be successful based on the apparent self-testimonial video that is shot by the guys who are documenting what’s going on during the end of days.

First Trailer for ‘iSteve’ Featuring Justin Long as Steve Jobs Arrives

justin-long-isteve-1

Yes, we were supposed to get a Steve Jobs biopic featuring Ashton Kutcher as the iconic Apple frontman, but who knows what happened to that. We hear it’s not that great (putting it nicely) and will likely end up on video very soon.

However, even with the Kutcher movie coming out eventually, that hasn’t stopped the gang at Funny or Die from making a Jobs biopic of their own. This one features Justin Long as Jobs, who you may recall played opposite John Hodgman in Apple’s popular “Get a Mac” ad campaign. The hour-long movie, called iSteve, will make its debut on April 15th on the Funny or Die website.

To promote it, Funny or Die released a trailer, as you might expect. Watching the trailer, which isn’t much more than a collection of words and audio with one shot of Long as Jobs, we already think it’s going to be better than the Kutcher version. Well, at the very least, it will be intentionally funny.

Check out the trailer after the break.

Husbands-Logo-Website-Teaser

Brad Bell and Jane Espenson are a dynamite duo. The team has created the winning Web series, Husbands, which was recently picked up by the CW’s online content branch, CW Digital Studio.

In case you’re not familiar, Husbands follows a gay actor (Bell) and a gay baseball player (Sean Hemeon) who wake up in Vegas married. Despite having only known each other for six weeks the two decide to go for it and that means dealing with moving in together, petty fights, cute make ups, and public scrutiny (and then some).

Not only will fans get to see existing episodes via CW but the network is also funding new episodes. Bell and Espenson, who also created Husbands: The Comic with Dark Horse, are excited to continue exploring the still very much newlywed relationship of baseball superstar Brady and outgoing actor Cheeks.

Mimobot Pulls the Worst April Fool’s Day Joke with the Jar Jar Binks Thumb Drive

press_release_JarJar_725x237

Last year on April Fool’s Day, Mimobot jokingly announced a Jar Jar Binks styled thumb drive in their line of Star Wars related storage accessories. Luckily, this was only a joke as it was revealed that they would not be taking it to the manufacturer. Everyone had a good laugh with sighs of relief.

But apparently there was some negative backlash over Jar Jar’s false Mimobot. And it wasn’t PTSD for those who contemplated bombing the Mimobot factory. It was from people who were actually disappointed that it wasn’t really happening.

It seems 500 people (which is our best guess since the Jar Jar Mimobot will only have 500 produced) made enough of a fuss to get Mimobot to create a thumb drive of the Gungan nightmare. After all, why would they risk making more Jar Jar Binks Mimobots than they believed they could realistically sell?
