Find Out Where Lex Luthor Stands in a New ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ Trailer

Injustice - Lex Luthor

There’s really something to be said for the ingenuity and personality behind Lex Luthor. When a man of nearly undefeatable power made his presence known, Luthor’s xenophobia made him stand up and throw everything he could to topple the Man of Steel. But the second he finds out that Superman’s safety switch has been turned off, he swaps to the other side.

In the latest trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us, we see where Lex Luthor stands in the battle between heroes as Batman and Superman stand at opposing fronts for the freedoms of the DC Universe. The trailer also gives us some insight as to where other characters such as Hawkgirl fall as well.

Welcome to ‘After Earth’ and Its New Trailer

after-earth-1

In our opinion at least, Will Smith can pretty much do no wrong. Even when he’s in a somewhat questionable movie, he still manages to come out looking good.

His latest, the sci-fi action movie After Earth, looks promising to continue that trend. The only real problem we can see so far is the director, M. Night Shyamalan.

Yeah, we used to think he was pretty great too. But now, not so much. What happened?

Anyway, a new trailer for After Earth has arrived and in it we see Smith and son Jaden, who also play father and son in the movie, crash-land on a hostile Earth a thousand years into the future. Needless to say (but we’ll go ahead anyway) things don’t go as they expect. To say the least.

Look for After Earth to arrive in theaters on June 7th. The trailer is after the break.

‘Before VFX’ Reveals the True Nature of Your Favorite Movies

tumblr_miymmgPYNp1s6mknho1_1280

In today’s big budget movies, almost anything you see could be a visual effect. From buildings to cars to giant flying robots and more, the men and women who create today’s modern visual effects are masters of their craft and are able to take an ordinary scene of two people staring into the void and turn it into a piece of movie magic.

We’ve seen the “after” of all this work in hundreds blockbuster movies, but what about the “before”? Well, a new website wants to highlight just that. Over at Before VFX, they’ve collected a ton of photos from various blockbuster movies that show what the site calls “The Canvas” of the visual effects shot.

In other words, they show what the scene was actually like before any visual effects were added and before an audience ever saw one frame. It’s a fascinating look into just how much goes into the making of a modern movie blockbuster and how much we owe the VFX artists who do this work every day.

Plus, as Dustin Rowles at Pajiba put it, it shows us “how little credit we give A-list actors for their ability to interact and engage with green screens.” How little credit indeed. It can’t be that easy.

Check out several pics after the break and head over to Before VFX for a ton more.
