‘Injustice Battle Arena’ Week 4 Reveals Sinestro and Hawkgirl

Injustice Sinestro

With under two months to go before the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us, we are still getting insight into its roster. With the latest episode of Injustice Battle Arena which pits characters against each other with the fans voting who will come out on top, NetherRealm Studios has revealed two more members of the roster, Sinestro and Hawkgirl, bringing the total up to nineteen DC heroes and villains so far.

Sinestro appears in his Sinestro Corps uniform upping the villainous ranks of the roster. Giving a counter to Hal Jordan, Sinestro uses his yellow ring to bring the hurt. With powers similar to that of the Green Lantern, Sinestro’s ring grants him the ability to create constructs based off his own twisted imagination and ability to instill fear.

Check This Out: New Trailer for Season 2 of HBO’s ‘Veep’

veep-cast-1

Say what you will about some characters from Seinfeld characters (George, we’re looking at you), but Elaine was always one of our favorites. We’re glad to see the actress who played her, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, has been able to go on to other things and has, for the most part, beaten the “Seinfeld Curse.”

Her current show, Veep, which airs on HBO is coming back for anothr season soon. To kick things off, we’ve got a new trailer for the season to share with you today.

In it we get reraquanted with the characters that work with Vice President and are reminded that things it’s not always smooth sailing for the Veep and her staff. In fact, it almost never is, which is part of the fun.

Check out the trailer after the break. Look for Veep to premier season 2 on April 14th at 10PM on HBO.

Watch Out Pirates, ‘Six Strikes’ Is Gonna Get You!

Internet-Piracy

It was bound to happen. And this is why we can’t have nice things. Five of the largest ISP’s in the U.S., including Comcast, Verizon, Time Warner, AT&T and Cablevision, have finally decided enough is enough with these damn pirates.

That’s right, the infamous “Six Strikes” anti-piracy program, also known as the Copyright Alert System (CMCSA), is going live on an Internets near you. Among the five ISP’s who think this is a good idea and will have some effect on limiting online piracy, Comcast is first out of the gate with the launch of its system today.

The rest are expected to follow suit later this week. According to those who support it, the new system is designed to “educate” users of the consequences of copyright infringement. Yes, because education has done such a great job so far.

Don’t worry, though, the new program won’t allow ISP’s to completely cut off your service if they happen to think you might be a pirate. It does, however, allow them to temporarily reduce your internet speed or block popular websites after “repeat offenses.”

Oscars Recap and A New Trailer for Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Movie: The Movie’ Part 2

Quentin Tarantino wins best original screenplay for Django Unchained

Yes, the Oscars were last night and without putting too fine a point on it, Chris and Matt did reasonably well in predicting the outcome. The only real surprise of the night was Argo‘s win for Best Picture.

Sadly, this was probably a result of director Ben Affleck’s snub for a Best Director nomination. Still, it is nice to win Best Picture. Although, if you ask Argo producer Grant Heslov, who just couldn’t let it go, it wasn’t enough and we really need to know Ben Affleck was the Director of Argo.

No shit. Thanks for pointing that out. Look we get it, you’re angry your buddy didn’t get nominated. Sure, that hurts, but you need to let it go now. Ben is going to be just fine. . . and so are you.

We’re also glad Tarantino got a win for writing Django Unchained and it was nice to see Christoph Waltz take one for that movie as well. He did a great job in it. And lets not forget host Seth McaFarland. Great job Seth. You killed it.

Anyway, for a complete list of winners, click on through. Before that, however, take a look at the trailer for Jimmy Kimmel’s latest opus Movie: The Movie Part 2. It’s pretty funny.

TV RECAP: ‘Arrow’ Episode 115 – ‘Dodger’

arrow-dodger-1A very nervous security guard steals a ruby on display at a museum. He goes around the corner and hands it to a man who disarms a bomb that was wrapped around his neck.

Oliver’s next name on the list is a man named Ken Williams. Felicity sees that he is a single father, and tries to keep Oliver from going. Oliver assures her he is only going to warn the man. Nonetheless, Felicity says it was a mistake for her to have said she would help.

Flashbacks are peppered throughout the episode showing Oliver going back to Yao’s cave to retrieve some medicinal herbs, as Slade’s arm is badly infected. While there, Oliver runs into a man who says that the soldiers captured him after a boat crash.

To Help Get You Ready for the Weekend, Here’s a New Redband Trailer for ‘Spring Breakers’

spring-breakers-1

When a movie has been described as “Scarface meets Britney Spears” one must at least pay some attention to it. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the movie in question, Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, also features bikini-clad hotties (in the forms of Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine) wielding firearms.

Plus, it also has James Franco, and his shiny grill, playing a character that reminds us a lot of Gary Oldman’s Drexl Spivey in True Romance. Put all that together and we’re not a hundred percent sure what it means.

One thing we know it does mean, though, is we’re very interested in checking out the full movie. Until then, take a look at the brand new redband trailer after the break.

Look for Spring Breakers to hit limited theaters on March 15th and then go wider on March 22nd.

Kickstarter Watch: ‘Legends of the Knight’ Batman Documentary

Legends of the Knight

Most of what you have seen in the past on the Kickstarter Watch has been gaming related. For the most part, we don’t even get a chance to look at every Kickstarter campaign email that gets sent to us because there are so many out there. But when we got the press release about Legends of the Knight using Kickstarter to help them finish off production, there was something special about this project that made us click through and watch the trailer (which you can see embedded at the bottom of this article).

Growing up as lifelong comics fans, it was impossible to not know who Batman was. Whether you were a Marvel guy or even didn’t like Superman because he was just too powerful, almost everyone in or around the industry has a soft spot for the Batman.
