Paul Giamantti Might Put on the Horn for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

GiamattiThe Amazing Spider-Man was a divisive film. Some people thought it was a fair reboot that rejuvenated a popular, if tired, franchise. While others felt a resounding hollowness from a, seemingly unnecessary, reboot of a franchise that was still reasonably healthy. Despite the mixed reception from the Spider-faithful, the film made gobs of cash and a sequel is fast approaching.

We thought we had a good handle on the villainy of ASM 2 with the assumed inclusion of Norman Osbourne and Jammie Foxx as an unorthodox Electro set to conflict with the web-head. However a surprise twist to the film’s rogues gallery might just have been uncovered via a Hollywood Reporter scoop:

Paul Giamatti is in talks to join The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as the villain known as The Rhino… The Rhino first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #41in 1966 as a thug from a Soviet Bloc country who wore a superhuman suit that made him invulnerable while giving him superstrength and superspeed. It also had a deadly horn on top.

What What What?

This film is certainly heading into some bold and interesting directions. Not only is the one-two punch of Rhino and Electro rather random, but the actor choices the casting department targeted for these roles are either brilliant or completely nutter-butter.

The Fate of ‘Justice League of America’ May Be in Hands of The ‘Man of Steel’

justice-league-01-1280x1024
With the successes of Nolan’s Batman trilogy and his involvement in the upcoming Man of Steel, it seemed like Nolan was going to be getting the Joss Whedon treatment with the DC movies moving forward. Though no director or producers have been formerly assigned to the Justice League movie, it was assumed that Nolan would have some level of involvement in it. But it seems that Warner Bros. faith in their own franchise isn’t as strong as the fans would hope to believe.

Variety has stated that “Warner’s top brass has indicated that they are awaiting results of Man of Steel, which opens June 14, before moving further ahead.” Now while this doesn’t specify the exact results they are looking for, it is a very worrisome statement to hear Warner already discussing Man of Steel in this way as well as the future of the Justice League movie with it.

EA Sports Predicts Winner to Super Bowl XLVII

Super Bowl Prediction Cover Image EA

Everyone seems to be an expert when it comes to talking about sports but if they knew as much as they claim to, they’d be cleaning up in Vegas. Well at least that’s what my plan would be. But like everyone else, I’m no expert. In fact, most of the reason I am going to watch the big game is because I am waiting to see the latest Iron Man 3 trailer. But for those interested in the Super Bowl’s actual outcome, look no further than EA Sports. If you’re looking for a good track record, EA has successfully predicted 7 of the last 9 Super Bowls including coming within two points of the actual score for Super Bowl XLIII between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.

Hit-Girl Kick-Ass 2 Image Cover

Last summer, the violent and foul mouth antics of Chloe Moretz stole the show and our hearts (and ticked off a lot of parents and church groups) as Hit-Girl in the first Kick-Ass. Chloe will be reprising the role in the sequel to the film that her parents wouldn’t even allow her to watch in the upcoming Kick-Ass 2. Alongside Chloe will be the returning Aaron Johnson as the film’s title character and the addition of Jim Carrey as Colonel Star and Stripes.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Adds More Original X-Men Trilogy Actors

XBack

When it was announced that Matthew Vaughn was leaving the director’s chair for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the geek community felt an inescapable fear that things might be falling apart. Even the seemingly good news that original X-Director Bryan Singer was coming back didn’t seem to dissuade the growing fear that Fox was once again messing up the X-Men.

Then the online nerd populous started putting two and two together. If the next film was going to tackle one of the most famous comic book time travel stories, and the director was the guy who made the first two great X-Men movies, would we be getting a giant cross generational X-Men X-travaganza?

Well, the answer seems to be a resounding yes, and according to the twitter account of Bryan Singer himself it keeps getting better:

Very excited to welcome @ellenpage &@shawnrashmore to   – thank you @BrettRatner for letting them live!
