Laurel brings Sara’s body to Oliver’s hideout. The others walk in to see Sara dead. Oliver is the only one who seems to be holding back his emotions.

Oliver promises Laurel that he’ll find Sara’s killer, and Laurel offers/demands to help. Oliver won’t let her, telling her to take care of her family. Laurel decides to hold off on telling Quentin, as she fears the news may kill him.

Oliver goes to the spot where Sara was killed to try and find some clues. Diggle shows up to let him know he has his back. Felicity calls them to let them know Quentin has called for the Arrow. When Oliver shows up, Quentin informs him of a fake archer that is murdering people in town. Quentin has no idea that his own daughter is one of the victims.

Felicity confronts Ray, who keeps trying to woo her to work for him. He even bought the company that owns the tech store she works at. With his statement that she’ll either work for him at Queen Consolidated or at the tech store, Felicity quits.

Based on some details Oliver strong-armed out of a drug dealer, the team is able to determine that the fake Arrow is a man named Simon Lacroix, AKA Kimodo. They hack Lacroix’s phone and are able to determine his location. Oliver heads there and chases Lacroix away on his motorcycle.

TV RECAP: ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Episode 204: ‘I Will Face My Enemy’

CLARK GREGG, MING-NA WEN

Before I go into the recap of this episode, I just wanted to provide an update on The Flash. I tried watching the second episode and couldn’t get two minutes into it. So I won’t be doing recaps for the show as I had originally planned. I never imagined that I wouldn’t like it. But not every show can work for every person. On the flip side, I am really enjoying Gotham, which I didn’t think would be that good. So the world gives and the world takes I guess.

Back to the world of Marvel. This week we are in Miami, where a local priest calls in a group of bishops to show them a miracle. Their church burned down, but one painting in the church survived without a scrape. It also as some weird alien drawings on the back of it.

Of course this of great importance to Coulson and May, so they setup and elaborate ruse to get the team to work with him to help get that painting. Coulson and May attend a fancy party hosted by the man in possession of the painting.

At the party, they see General Talbot. Coulson talks to him, figuring his cover is already blown. He gets Talbot to agree to not get involved. Later, General Talbot is seen talking to Whitehall on the phone about Coulson’s interest in the painting.

TV RECAP: ‘The Walking Dead’ Episode 501: ‘No Sanctuary’

Walking Dead 501 Pic

Rick and the others are fashioning weapons out of their clothes and small personal belongings. They plan to ambush whoever comes in to get them. But the Terminans (not my term, that’s what the episode description called them) outsmart them by dropping a flash grenade from the top of the container.

Rick awakens in a giant room alongside Bob, Daryl, Glenn, and four unknown men. It quickly becomes clear that the Terminans are cannibals, and Rick and the others are about to become dinner. The four “nobodies” are quickly disposed of via a baseball bat to the back of the head and a quick throat slit.

Glenn is almost killed twice, but a surprise attack on Terminus halts the plans. The leader goes outside to see what is going on, and leaves the muscle men with Rick and the others.

Those that have not been taken to the meat market are still working on weapons and getting antsy. Maggie and Carl assure everyone that Rick and the others will be back, and they need to be ready. Sasha wants to know what cure Eugene has. Eugene explains that he used to work for the Human Genome Project, and he may have a way to turn deadly viruses into a cure.

Meanwhile, Carol and Tyreese (and Judith) are still on the hunt for Terminus. Carol tells Tyreese that once they find Terminus, she won’t be staying. In trying to avoid a pack of zombies, Carol and Tyreese stumble across a man working the perimeter of the settlement. They tie him up, and Carol goes to check out Terminus.

TV RECAP: ‘Arrow’ Episode 301: ‘The Calm’

Arrow 301 Pic

Finally, Arrow is back! After a second season that dragged a bit in the middle, but did a great job of picking up the pace at the end, season three begins at least 9 months after the events that concluded season two ended.

Detective Lance is now Captain, and has been pulled from active duty due to his heart condition. He has also publicly thanked The Arrow, and has decommissioned the anti-vigilante task force. Diggle and Lyla are having a baby, and she is due at any time. Roy has fully embraced his role in the team, and has managed to keep himself under control. Felicity and Oliver’s “relationship” has at least grown to not so obvious flirting, and Oliver and Laurel are working together (“You catch ‘em, I cook ‘em” as she said).

Things are going so well, that Oliver has a lot more free time, and Felicity is helping him prepare a speech for the Board of Queen Consolidated to try and buy the company back. Felicity has picked up a job at a tech shop. Diggle even convinces Oliver to finally take Felicity out on a date.

New Protest Group Outside of NYCC

Screen Shot 2014-10-11 at 12.15.37 PM

Those who go to cons are used to seeing protestors. For the most part they are the judgmental type who tell us we are all sinners, going to hell, need to repent, blah, blah, blah. But at New York Comic Con, a new group took to the streets and though their message is pretty clear, who they are isn’t. Donning red hoods and white masks, these anonymous-esque folks gave messages leading back to a twitter account YoureWelcomeSOS as well as an associated YouTube channel (the video can be seen after the jump).

Under the name Dramatis Personai, the group is seemingly protesting the demise of privacy. Most likely looking to hit a cord with the technology focused NYCC audience, the messages of the group strangely resemble the classic messages from the classic Watchmen, possibly another reason why the group targeted New York Comic Con this weekend. Drastically different from the Westboro Baptist Church or even Anonymous, the group has so far been respectful of the people they interact with while calling for their attention they have not taken to invasive scare tactics.

As we hear more about this group and their involvement at NYCC, we will be sure to update.

TV RECAP: ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Episode 203: ‘Making Friends and Influencing People’

Shield 203 Pic

Dr. Whitehall is using a unique method of brainwashing to try and turn “Agent 33” from S.H.I.E.L.D. to Hydra. It is part of a Hydra talent grab, which is very concerning to Coulson, as these are viable S.H.I.E.L.D. options that are being taken away.

Agent Simmons, after leaving S.H.I.E.L.D., is now working for Hydra. Her boss needs her to date work on a project, even though she isn’t finished yet. She sees a photo in his folder, realizing it’s Donnie Gill.

Gill is hiding out in Morocco, and now has the ability to freeze things with his hands (or even just by concentrating hard enough). Gill takes out a waiter, as well as two Hydra agents, finding out that he was to be delivered to Maribel del Mar.

Simmons arrives home to find Coulson in her apartment. Surprise! Simmons was working as a spy within Hydra the whole time. So I guess she didn’t abandon Fitz in his time of need and join the enemy after all. Didn’t take long for them to spoil that for us.

Hydra wants Gill so they can use him as a weapon. Ward tells Skye that Hydra will convince or capture Gill, and if they can’t do either, they will kill him. A gifted that refuses Hydra is seen as a liability.

TV REVIEW: The CW’s So-So Debut Of ‘The Flash’

Flash Pic 101 A

As I was watching the premiere of The CW’s highly anticipated comic series The Flash, it just seemed a little off to me. It started off lighthearted, focused too much on Barry’s obsession with Iris and his relationship with her father, Detective West. It tried to throw in little bits of comedy that just didn’t fit, and weren’t that funny anyway.

But to be fair to me, and the show, I’m coming off of two great seasons of the very dark Arrow series. And while Oliver Queen does make a cameo in this episode, it just didn’t quite grab me. I’m willing to give it some more time, because this is just the origins episode, and because of the track record of CW shows like Arrow.

I didn’t really care for any of the characters to be honest, or the acting of those portraying them. For the first time watching a CW show, I felt like I was watching something on a secondary network. It just seemed . . . well, lame.
