This Is the New Motorola Moto X Smartphone

mototola-moto-x-1

As with most new smartphones, and other highly anticipated devices these days, it’s hard to keep them a total secret before they come out. Inevitably, photos, specs or in the case of the Motorola Moto X smartphone today, a video will leak out.

The video in question is from Rogers Wireless which highlights the upcoming Motorola Moto X and confirms many of the new features the device will have at launch. Among said features are hands-free searches, notifications showing up as information on screen rather than through a notification light, gestures to launch the camera, and more.

The video also confirms that the device will be able to work hands-free, with features being activated simply by talking to it. In the video a woman speaks the command “OK, Google Now” with the phone fully asleep and it wakes and then performs a search. The clip also highlights other Google Now features, like setting an alarm or getting directions.

All in all, this looks like a pretty great device. Can’t wait to get our hands on one to check it out in more detail.

In the meantime, check out the video after the break. Look for the Motorola Moto X to arrive in the coming months.

Martian Manhunter Coming to ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’

Martian Manhunter Injustice DLC Cover Image

Back when NetherRealm gave us the Scorpion reveal trailer as the third piece of DLC for Injustice: Gods Among Us, they also teased Martian Manhunter at the end.

But, as all Injustice players know, they instead got Zod which just so happened to time out around the same time as the Man of Steel feature film release. Luckily, that tease ended up being true as the Martian Manhunter is still joining the likes of Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion and General Zod as a member of Injustice: Gods Among Us’ DLC roster. Sadly though, because he is the fifth piece of character DLC, Martian Manhunter won’t be a part of the season pass.

For those who aren’t familiar with J’onn J’onzz, he has been around since the fifties and has played a variety of roles in the DC Universe. Currently, the Martian Manhunter is the top dog in the Justice League of America book from the New 52 as the corollary to Superman. With strength, speed, senses, intelligence, endurance, shapeshifting, invisibility and intangibility to name just part of his power set, the Martian Manhunter could very well be one of the strongest characters in DC’s lineup.

Considering the level of exposure through both the comics and animated series and his overall power, it makes sense that Martian Manhunter would be in that roster, especially more so than a character like Killer Frost. (To this day, I still haven’t figured out why Killer Frost is in that game, especially as her main adversary Firestorm is not.)

And Now, Here’s a Trailer for Horror Comedy ‘Hell Baby’

Hell Baby_One Sheet.indd

The tag line from the poster for Hell Baby should tell you everything you need to know. “The Devil Gotta Baby Mama” we think sums it up nicely.

Still, it’s also nice to see a trailer completely confirm what you already think. Here’s a little more on Hell Baby:

Jack (Rob Corddry) and Vanessa (Leslie Bibb) are an expectant couple that moves into the most haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans — a house with a deadly demonic curse. Things soon spiral out of control for Jack and Vanessa, as well as their-not-so-helpful neighbor F’Resnel (Keegan-Michael Key), Vanessa’s friendly psychiatrist (Michael Ian Black), Vanessa’s Wiccan sister Marjorie (Riki Lindhome) and the detectives assigned to look into the rising body count (Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer). Only the Vatican’s elite exorcism team (Garant and Lennon) san save them — or can they?

Check out the trailer and the full poster after the break. Look for Hell Baby to arrive on September 6.

With Pacific Rim hitting theaters this week it’s a great time for FX to be promoting the new season of one of it’s best shows: Sons of Anarchy. What do these two have in common?

Well, in case you’re not familiar, both Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim feature actors Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman. So there you go. But this particular post isn’t about Pacific Rim, it’s about Sons of Anarchy.

Specifically, it’s about a preview for season six of the show. In said preview we get reacquainted with the resident of Charming, CA and the biker gang of lovable misfits we’ve come to know over the last five seasons.

The Walking Dead Escape Cover Image

Even with Comic-Con fast approaching, we were able to get some time with Liam Brenner, the producer behind The Walking Dead Escape. For those who didn’t experience it last year, The Walking Dead Escape is an obstacle course built through the levels of Petco Park with a zombie invasion taking hold. Stay tuned to the Flickcast during Comic Con to get our video coverage of the event.

The Flickcast: Thanks for taking the time to talk with us about The Walking Dead Escape. How does one go about becoming the producer of an event like The Walking Dead Escape? Do you have any previous experience with the zombie world?

Liam Brenner: Yes, I’ve narrowly escaped many times and last year’s Escape event was no exception. We know the hospital in San Diego has been abandoned and is now overrun with walkers. We will be setting up the parameter around PetCo Park shortly and Survivors will only have one way out.

Here’s the First Redband Trailer for Spike Lee’s ‘Oldboy’

oldboy-poster--crop

A few days ago, the first poster for Spike Lee’s remake of Park Chan-Wook’s Oldboy arrived on the scene. And as promised, the first redband trailer is now here.

We won’t waste a lot of time explaining what you’re going to see. Suffice it to say based on the poster and now this trailer, we may have to rethink our skeptical thoughts about Spike Lee and his take on this modern classic.

Of course, some could argue that Oldboy didn’t really need an Americanized remake. A few of us here think that.

However, now that it’s on the way, we may as well embrace it and be cautiously optimistic it will end up being something pretty cool. It could happen. Judge for yourself after the break.

Look for Spike Lee’s Oldboy, starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley, to arrive in theaters on October 25.
