Sinestro Isn’t the Only Yellow Lantern Coming to ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’

Two Hal Jordans Cover Image

Back in February we revealed that the leader of the Yellow Lanterns, a.k.a. the Sinestro Corps, would be taking one of the roster spots in Injustice: Gods Among Us to act as the opposition to Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. It only made sense with NetherRealm Studios working on the game that you’d need a yellow Scorpion to counteract the emerald Sub-Zero.

So it ended up being a huge surprise when yesterday a new video emerged that shed some light into Hal Jordan’s story when he saw… himself.

In the latest trailer released this week, check out Hal Jordan vs. Hal Jordan as the man who has found himself at one point a member of pretty much every Corps wearing both the green and yellow as he takes on himself. As you’ll see from the trailer though, this isn’t just a reskin for a fantasty match. This looks to take place within Hal’s actual story during Injustice: Gods Among Us as both Hal and his Justice League compatriots react to what is happening.

This just adds to the already interesting mythos that is being associated with the game as it sees both Superman and Lex Luthor on the same side and a clone of Hal Jordan attacking himself.

Check out the full trailer after the jump.

2 Cents: Why It’s a Good Thing the ‘Mega Man’ FPS Got Canceled

MegaMan1_74759_screen

Yesterday, it was revealed from a Capcom inside source to gaming site Polygon that there had been a green lit Mega Man FPS title back in 2010 that would later be canceled. Originally referred to as Maverick Hunter, the game was considered a “significant gamble” before being canceled prior to Inafune’s departure from Capcom in 2010. And as much as it pains me to say it, maybe it was for the best.

Now this isn’t about me being negative, trust me. When I first heard the idea of a FPS Mega Man, I was excited about the idea. I mean, we’ve seen games like Metroid translate well to the FPS world. But the more I thought about it, the more I remembered the games that didn’t succeed when switching genres. We all saw what happened to Syndicate when it made the FPS leap in 2012 and have awaited the backlash of XCom as its FPS release looms closer.

WC2013: Joss Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ Looks Hilarious and Wonderful

Much Ado

Years before geek god Joss Whedon gave up his vacation to film his version of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, he held readings of the Bard’s plays at his house. The couple that read as Much Ado’s stubborn lovers, Beatrice and Benedict? Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof.

Now they are taking those backyard readings to the big screen as two of the stars of Whedon’s highly anticipated film. Exclusive clips shown as WonderCon 2013 have provided further insight into what audiences can expect from this black and white Much Ado that was shot in two weeks at Whedon’s home.

The plot is very much a commentary on romantic love and the expectations that are pushed onto single persons and couples. Beatrice and Benedict along with young-love couple, Hero (Jillian Morgese) and Claudio (Fran Kranz), are at the center of story. The first pair enjoy a relationship based on sarcastic, teasing banter while both proclaim their disdain for love/marriage. The young couple though is enraptured with one another and become a focal point for the wicked doings of antagonist Don John (Sean Maher).

Check This Out: ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 Visual Effects

Walking Dead Welcome to the Tombs

This is cool. Although, if you don’t want to know how the magic is done and take a look behind the curtain, you may not want to watch. For the rest of you, here’s a video look from visual effects company Stargate Studios at their work on the latest season of The Walking Dead.

In addition to all the great zombie smashing and blood splattering, we also love what they did with the prison and how they made it look way more impressive, and messed up, than it actually is.

In short, these folks are pretty great at what they do. Enjoy the video after the break and be impressed.

Yet Another Reason to Love Austin (And Google): Google Fiber Is On the Way

google-fiber-lo

Austin, Texas is a great city. With SXSW, Fantastic Fest, great food, music and friendly people, Austin is one of the places I love to visit as much as possible. I might even move there one day. Almost did a few months ago, truth be told, but it didn’t quite work out.

Anyway, even with that setback, “one day” still may be even sooner than I think because I’ve got yet another reason to love Austin: Google Fiber. That’s right, Google’s super fast fiber internet is heading to the Texas capital.

Currently only available in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri, Google has announced that Austin will be the next city graced by its fiber love. Although homes won’t start getting connected until 2014, Google made a little video to tell you all about Fiber and what it means to the city. It also makes anyone not living in Austin very jealous.

Check it out after the break.

‘Call of Duty’ Gets a Second Replacer and Fariko Impact Wins Big

Call of Duty Champions

This past weekend, 32 teams of four took up arms in the ultimate XBox Call of Duty Championship. In the end, it was the team Fariko Impact that took home the gold and $400,000 cash prize. Damon “Karma” Barlow, Adam “Killa” Sloss, Marcus “MiRx,” and team captain Chris “Parasite” Duarte (collectively known as Fariko Impact) faced off against EnVyUs in the final round Sunday after the three day tournament.

Fariko Impact would emerge victorious with the winner’s share of the $1,000,000 total pot. But don’t feel too bad for EnVyUs as the second place team would walk home with $200,000 themselves and third place team OpTic Gaming taking $120,000 with them.

Also revealed this past weekend alongside the images of the new Uprising DLC Map Pack was the latest Replacer trailer. After the original Replacer was revealed, it would only be a matter of time before more Call of Duty: Black Ops II players would need to call upon the services of these men in black.

This time, original Replacer Peter Stormare is joined by J.B. Smoove. This time, as you’ll see in the trailer below, the Replacers find themselves in even more awkward scenarios, the kind it takes two people to tackle.
