‘Payday 2’ Coming to XBLA, PSN & PC This Summer

Payday 2 Screen Shot

Back at Comic-Con 2011, I had the pleasure of interviewing some of the development team for Payday: The Heist while Matt Raub was playing along in the background. (He still has the promotional clown mask hanging on his wall) Now, it will be getting a sequel this summer, dubbed simply Payday 2, with the XBox Live Arcade being added to the two original platforms with the PC and PlayStation network.

Despite the positive response Payday: The Heist received, developer Overkill Software most likely saw the potential for an increased audience for the downloadable title in making it available on the XBox Live platform which has had a better reputation for its online service than Sony’s PSN.

TV RECAP: ‘Walking Dead’ Episode 313 – ‘Arrow On The Doorpost’

walking dead arrow doorpost

Herschel, Rick, and Daryl are investigating a seemingly random location. Rick goes into an old barn and The Governor comes out of the shadows. Martinez, Milton, and Andrea show up, and Andrea is surprised to learn The Governor is already inside with Rick.

Andrea has set this up so that the two sides can establish a truce. Rick wants to split the land on either side of the river, but The Governor refuses. He wants Rick and his crew to surrender.

The Governor tells Rick that Andrea has no authority to make any truces, and makes her leave so he and Rick can talk privately. As Rick sits down at the table, it appears that he some kind of gun taped under the table pointing at the other chair.

‘Sherlock’ Star Benedict Cumberbatch Says There Will Be a Season 4

cumberbatch-freeman-sherlock-bbc

What could be better than a third season of the BBC’s awesome Sherlock series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as a modern-day Holmes and Watson? Why, a fourth season of course.

That’s right, during and interview with UK’s Radio Times today, Cumberbatch said he and co-star Freeman have agreed to do two seasons after Season 2.

“We’ve agreed to two more series but I could get into trouble for saying that,” Cumberbatch said during the interview. “All I know at the moment is I’m doing these three and another three.” Which, translated to how we do series here in the U.S. means he’s currently filming season three of three episodes and then would go on to do a fourth season of three episodes.

He also said in the interview that he and Freeman would like to do more seasons, but as always it depends on their schedules and that of co-creator Steven Moffat, who also runs the BBC’s Doctor Who.

So yeah, that’s pretty cool. We could all use more seasons of this excellent show. And more Cumberbatch and Freeman isn’t a bad thing either.

Look for season three of Sherlock to hit the U.S. later this year.

SXSW13: AMC Launches New ‘Yeah!’ Movie Streaming Service

yeah!-terminator-1

One of the things people liked most about watching movies on DVD and Blu-ray, besides the movie itself, was the supplemental material. Deleted or extra scenes, making-of docs and commentary from the director and stars, in most cases, added to the experience of watching your favorite films.

With the explosive popularity of streaming and watching content online, you just don’t get the same supplemental content or experience anymore. AMC’s new service called Yeah! seeks to to change that.

Announced at SXSW this week, Yeah! will feature films “enhanced with interactive features including 400-500 individual pieces of original content curated from in-depth research.” These include facts and figures about the movie, quizzes, interviews with the directors and more. If these don’t detract from watching the movie itself, it could be quite a cool service.

Some of the films on Yeah! at launch include Superman, Reservoir Dogs, Clerks, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Pulp Fiction, Scream, 300 and The Terminator, with more being added regularly.

Yeah! is available now right here, with movies costing $5 for a 48-hour rental. An iPad app is expected to launch this Summer.

Is This Video of the Samsung Galaxy S IV? Maybe

samsung-gs4-teaser-1

It wouldn’t be close to the time of release of a new, amazing, smartphone without some leaked videos purporting to show said smartphone hitting the Internets. The smartphone in question this time? The Samsung Galaxy S IV.

That’s right, a hands-on video has hit the Interwebs which features a device that seems to be very similar to other leaked images of the Galaxy S IV. In fact, it really looks a lot like the new device is supposed to look.

For those still on the fence as to the Galaxy S IV’s awesomeness, you should should remember that it’s supposed to feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, an eight-core Exynos chipset, up to 64GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and new touch-free control features that work by tracking the user’s eyes.

It tracks your eyes. . . Come on, that’s pretty darn awesome. Check out the video after the break.
