First ‘Spring Breakers’ Trailer Arrives and It’s Pretty Much What You Think . . . Not That That’s A Bad Thing

spring-breakers-1

“Fun” is the word we’ll use to describe the upcoming movie from Harmony Korine called Spring Breakers. You’ll see what we mean when you take a look at the first trailer for the movie that dropped today.

The movie features Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, and James Franco in a story about four college girls who land in jail after robbing a restaurant in order to fund their spring break vacation.

Hijinks ensue when the girls find themselves bailed out by a drug and arms dealer who wants them to do some dirty work. No, not that kind of dirty work. Crimes, see? Although, maybe a bit of that other thing too.

Check out the trailer after the break. Look for Spring Breakers to arrive in theaters March 22nd.

TV Recap: ‘Arrow’ Season 1 Episode 10 – ‘Burned’

arrow-burned

Six weeks have passed since Oliver’s battle with the fake Arrow landed him in the hospital, and he is looking ready for battle once again. He tells Diggle, however, that he wants to spend some time with his family until Walter is found rather than continue going after those on The List.

In the meantime, the brother of Laurel’s co-worker Jo, a city firefighter, is killed while fighting a blaze. Jo suspects that her brother was murdered, as turpentine was found on his remains, and the fire that burned through his suit was hotter than the fire they were fighting.

lego-man-of-steel

There’s only one word to use when describing this Lego trailer for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel: Awesome. We love it and can’t wait to share it with you.

After having seen the original trailer several times, this is an extremely clever way to make the trailer work with Lego. The man responsible, Antonio Toscano, deserves all the accolades he’s sure to get once this things blows up.

Yep, it’s that good. Check it out after the break. Sadly, we won’t get to see the movie with the title that comes up at the end of this trailer. At least ww don’t think so. Although, that would be pretty damn cool.

Instead, look for the live-action Man of Steel to arrive in theaters on June 14th.

Signups for Behemoth’s ‘Battleblock Theater’ Beta Begin

Battleblocks Theater Beta Cover Image

Alien Homonid was one of the most punishing games to come out for the Gamecube with an old school challenge behind it and it quickly put Behemoth on the map. They followed up with Castle Crashers which would go on to become the highest selling independent game up until Minecraft was released. With over $25 million in revenue from Castle Crashers, Behemoth would go on to reveal Battleblock Theater as their next project.

The first playable demo of Battleblock Theater was revealed in 2009 and has been updated for both Comic Con and PAX since but the game’s release date was kept close to the vest. Things look like they may be changing for a 2013 release though

Behemoth has opened registration for a closed beta for Battleblock Theater. The beta will feature 10,000 slots and is expected to take place between February or March. These 10,000 playtesters will be responsible for reporting any bugs or problems with the game that the developers can fix in time for commercial release.

While some betas for games like Resident Evil, Halo and Gears of War are more for commercial attention, a smaller studio like Behemoth can depend on this group to help their QA since their budgets can’t come close to matching Capcom, Microsoft and Epic respectively.

‘Fringe’ Is Almost Over, Here’s a Trailer for the Finale

Fringe_Finale_Poster

We’re sad to see it go because Fringe is one of our favorite shows. Still, if you have to go, this looks like a great way to do it.

Also, kudos to Fox for letting the gang at Fringe write their way to the conclusion instead of the alternative. So much better way to deal with the ending of a show than some other times we could mention.

Anyway, Fringe is coming to an end and we’ve got this trailer for you which shows that things will most definitely be going out with a bang. Just as it should be.

Check out the trailer after the break. Look for the 2-hour Fringe series finale this Friday on Fox. Walter, I think we’ll miss you most of all.

Michael Shannon Is ‘The Iceman’ In a New Trailer for the Movie

the-iceman-michael-shannon

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to meet the intense actor Michael Shannon in a dark alley. Although, from what we’ve heard (and seen) he’s actually a very nice guy who just plays twisted dudes for a living.

Speaking of twisted dudes, we’ve got a new trailer featuring Shannon starring in the movie The Iceman. The upcoming thriller sees Shannon playing “real-life hitman/family man Richard Kuklinski, a mob killer-for-hire who knocked off more than 100 men before begin caught in 1986.” The catch? His family had no idea what he did for a living. Icy indeed.

Ray Liotta, Wynona Ryder, Chris Evans and James Franco co-star. Look for The Iceman to arrive in theaters this May.

Until then, check out the new trailer after the break.

Disney Takes a Page from ‘Skylanders’ and Announces ‘Disney Infinity’

Disney Infinity Cover Image Logo

As much as we love Disney and a lot of the things they do like Wreck-It Ralph, even we notice that they don’t always come up with all their own concepts. Usually it is something that has been successful in the past and they put a Disney twist on it to turn it into an even bigger success. Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and tons more are all examples of this. So, it’s no surprise that Disney and Avalanche Software would be following the success of the toys to video game combo of Skylanders with the announcement of Disney Infinity.

Using a special hardware base accessory, players will be able to unlock new in game content and characters for Disney Infinity. Sounds familiar right? Disney Infinity will be following a model similar to that of Activision’s Skylanders franchise. Players will be able to take purchased toys and put them on a base that will read the figure and unlock characters and items in the game.

In the trailer below, you’ll see characters from Pirates of the Caribbean, The Incredibles, Monsters University, Cars, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Toy Story and more that will most likely be on the list of playable characters and toys coming out for Disney Infinity.

DC’s ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ Gets Release Date and Two Special Editions

Injustice Gods Among Us Announce Cover

We’ve been keeping a keen eye on NetherRealm Studio’s followup to Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe in Injustice: Gods Among Us (which still confounds us that no DC logo or brand name of any kind is in its title even now with the final box art). The latest news is that Injustice: Gods Among Us finally has a release date of April 16th, 2013 as well as two special editions.

The Collector’s Edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us will sell for $99.99 and will include a copy of the game, a digital download of the DC Animated Film Doom, a three pack of DLC costumes for Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman based off of their DC New 52 designs, an Injustice comic and a statue of Wonder Woman and Batman in combat exclusive to this collector’s pack.
