Max No Sleeves Does Drinks with Whiskey and Waffles

max-no-sleeves-1

Part of what Whiskey and Waffles lives by is Adult Geek Lifestyle. So far, other than the fact we are both of age, WallE and I haven’t done that much you can consider “adult”. We have talked comic book movies, opened LEGOs, unboxed Skylanders but the “adult” aspect hasn’t been much of a factor… until now. To remedy that, we’ve added two things to the mix. Drinking and our expert alcohol enthusiast Max No Sleeves.

First, our guest: Max No Sleeves is one of our YouTube friends that you’ll also see appearing in an upcoming episode of the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Unboxing. He is also definitely a big star in his own right with over 500,000 subscribers on his channel and over 30,000,000 views. You can check him out on his YouTube channel here for his awesome style of sleeveless comedy.

‘Community’ Returns In January, So Here’s a Preview

Community - Season 4

It’s a bit hard to believe that Community, NBC’s little comedy that could, is about to debut its fifth season. Because it started out so strong, and so different, from a lot of network comedies, we were almost positive it wouldn’t last this long.

We were particularly concerned when creator and showrunner Dan Harmon was kicked off the show. But still, it kept on going and miraculously, NBC realized they had made a mistake in letting Harmon go and brought him back for season five.

That brings us to now with the January return of Community just around the corner and we couldn’t be happier about it. Naturally, we’ve got a preview for you.

Check it out after the break. Look for Community to return on Thursday, January 2 at 8 on NBC.

Here’s a Trailer for Marvel’s New Comic ‘Inhumanity’

inhumanity-matt-fraction-1

One of our favorite writers is the very talented Matt Fraction. We always try to follow his work and with his new comic, Inhumanity, he looks to be continuing his trend of excellence.

Obviously, Marvel thinks so too because they’ve gone ahead and made an Inhumanity trailer. No, they don’t do that for every new series. This one is special.

Here’s more, directly from Marvel:

They have existed for centuries. Hidden from the world, they have evolved in seclusion. Now the strange race of genetically enhanced beings known has the Inhumans have been thrust to the forefront of the Marvel Universe. The cataclysmic events of INFINITY have left the Inhuman city of Attilan in ruins. It’s king – the mighty Black Bolt is missing, believed dead. Attilan’s destruction has unleashed the catalytic Terrigen Mists upon the planet Earth.

Countless thousands across the globe have powered up as new Inhumans leaving Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the rest of the Marvel Universe to react to this strange new race of super-powerful beings!

TV RECAP: ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Episode 110: ‘The Bridge’

Agents of Shield 110 Pic

On this week’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. three super soldiers break into a prison and help a man escape. S.H.I.E.L.D. identifies him as Edison Poe, a former US military man. Because of the inclusion of these super soldiers, Coulson is bringing in Mike Peterson to help in the case.

Skye is still trying to find the agent that dropped her off at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters as a baby. Coulson tells her that May is looking into some of the more classified documents. This is a lie, as Coulson does not want Skye to know the truth about her parents.

Peterson is happy to help S.H.I.E.L.D. as he is trying to be a better person and do some good. Coulson tells him that everyone deserves a second chance, but he will not get a third chance.

The team is able to identify one of the super soldiers as Brian Heyward. They find that his sister is a teacher in Ohio. Coulson and Ward go to pay her a visit. Ward pretends to be a member of the gaming commission claiming that Brian has won the lottery. His sister is immediately suspicious and calls Brian, allowing S.H.I.E.L.D. to track him to Oakland, California.

While driving, Coulson reveals to Ward that he has a lost love that moved on when everyone thought he was dead. Ward mentions the option of dating within S.H.I.E.L.D. and Coulson says that’s an even worse idea.

Here’s Tom Cruise in the First Trailer for ‘Edge of Tomorrow’

cruise-edge-of-tomorrow-1

Yes, the premise of the upcoming Tom Cruise starrer Edge of Tomorrow (which used to be called All You Need Is Kill) does kinda sound like “Groundhog Day in Space,” but that’s okay. It’s got a lot of other good things going for it.

Two of these things are director Doug Liman, no stranger to action he, and star Tom Cruise. Yes, I’m in the “pro” Cruise camp. You got a problem with that?

In this one Cruise stars as an officer fighting an alien war who becomes stuck in a time loop and is forced to re-live the same combat mission over and over. The film also features Emily Blunt as the girl who helps Cruise become a real boy while he’s forced to re-live the same day over and over. In other words, she’s the new Andie MacDowell.

Gotta say, the trailer looks cool though. I’m interested. Although, I can’t help wondering what would happen if someone put this much effort into a reboot of Starship Troopers. Now that I would like to see.

Until then Edge of Tomorrow arrives in theaters on June 6, 2014. Check out the trailer after the break.

Get Your First Look at Marvel’s All-New ‘X-Factor’

All-New_X-Factor_1_Cover-crop

Even with the popularity of The Avengers and other heroes, interest and enthusiasm for mutants is still at a very high level too. And yes, they still have their very own comic book series. Case in point today is the brand new, upcoming X-Factor, from writer Peter David and artist Carmine Di Giandomenico.

Here’s all you need to know from the official press release:

Serval Industries, the world’s foremost leader in cutting-edge internet and weapons technology has just unveiled their newest contribution to society – it’s superhuman division, the All-New X-Factor! Led by Polaris, the mutant mistress of magnetism, fellow X-Factor members Quicksilver, Gambit, Danger, Cypher, and Warlock use their powers for the betterment of society.

Or are their corporate backers at Serval Industries using X-Factor for the betterment of themselves?

“So much of what happens in this country stems from corporate control and involvement,” explained Peter David, in an interview with Marvel.com “So why not expand that real world philosophy to the world of comics and have it be that a corporation is interested in expanding into super heroes? I mean, if super heroes really existed, that’s probably what would happen.”
